About

YOUNG DUBLINERS IN CONCERT:

Celtic rock heroes the Young Dubliners have been breathing new life into Irish music since the late '80s with their festive blend of traditional ballads and contemporary rock. The band's modern take on folk songs and sea shantys always makes for a good time at their live shows, where Irish dancers often take the stage to jig and curtsy alongside the musicians. Fresh off the 2013 release of their ninth studio album, the band are ready to tear it up on select 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Young Dubliners were formed in Los Angeles in 1988 by Paul O'Toole and Irish-born Keith Roberts. After achieving regional success with their raucous live shows, the band's 1993 debut EP Rocky Road put them on the national map with hit single "Last House on the Street." A string of acclaimed albums and tours would follow, including 2005's Real World, which wowed critics and fans alike with its ambitious and experimental blend of traditional Irish elements and arena-sized rock guitar licks. 2007's With All Due Respect - The Irish Sessions, an album exclusively comprised of Irish ballads and shantys, landed at No. 14 on Billboard's World Albums charts, bringing some much-deserved recognition to the often-underappreciated band.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"These guys can play. From soft, folky ballads to hard rocking anthems, the Young Dubliners are fit to carry the banner of "Irish Rock" for any of the heralded bands in that genre that preceded them..."

"The show was perfect. The right mix of new songs, old songs, and classic songs we know and love and miss hearing live!! So happy Dubs took a step back in time as it made the concert perfect for me and my husband."

"These guys put their hearts and souls into their music and if you don't leave their concert with a new surge of energy then you might want to check for a heartbeat."

    Great Show

I've seen the Band 90 times so yeah, I'm biased! Fantastic venue, the boys sounded great. Usually Philadelphia comes out for them, but oh well, they missed out.

    Good Energy Irish Band

by Deeds on 3/19/22Rivers Casino Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Overall we had a good time, small venue so we were able to sit wherever we wanted. My hubby & his friends really love this band. They have good energy. They even hung out with us after the show. Our only complaint was the sound technician did not accomodate for the small venu & small crowd. It was so loud you could not understand the lyrics.

Love the Young Dubliners. They make everyone want to be Irish. Especially like Charles Waltz who works magic with the violin. Hope to be able to see them whenever they are in the area.

The Young Dubliners are always a great show

by Kim on 3/14/22Revolution Concert House & Event Center - Garden City

I purchased VIP tickets so that I would be guaranteed a seat, but didn't realize that it wasn't assigned seating. So while we got a table, the people sitting ahead of us stood the whole time and blocked our view of the stage. We eventually moved and watched the last 20 minutes or so from the far side so we could see something besides the lights. Reserved seating would have been great, or a quick note that it's first come, first served and I would have gotten there earier. I'll know for next time. The bar service was great, and it has been every time I've been there. The staff are always quite friendly. The show itself was awesome and the Dubs are a fantastic band that I will go see wherever they play. When we could see, the view from up top was great.

    Young Dubs in Boise

by Cactus Cat on 3/14/22Revolution Concert House & Event Center - Garden City

The band was excellent, but the sound was over-modulated . I couldn’t understand what Keith was saying or singing. We left early.

The dinner prior was wonderful and the band was awesome. We had never seen them before and we loved their performance. The fiddle player was incredible. Service was great too throughout the concert. Can’t wait to come back to this small quaint venue again!

    Great night of rockin’

by C. M. on 1/14/19The Canyon Agoura Hills - Agoura Hills

The show started with some new material which sounded great but as with all new tunes it may take a few listens for the audience to get familiar with them. The rest of the show had some slow beautiful ballads like Ragland Road and lots of fast moving tunes such as Seeds of Sorrow and the classics we have all come to expect, Rocky Road, Rosie, Brown Dog. The audience was very enthusiastic and mostly much younger than my husband and me but the “young-uns” were so friendly and fun that they made a super concert even more enjoyable. A bonus with the Dubs is they come out after the show and talk with the fans. My only complaint would be that the sound mix for all the bands was way overboosted on the drums and it overpowered the music at times. The bottom line is no matter how many times we see the Dubs, we always see an incredibly energetic and uplifting show. This band is criminally under appreciated to quote a review I once read! The venue is nice but the food at the Canyon is bad. They state when you buy the tickets that you have to buy dinner if you you buy a seat at a table. We bought a bottle of wine and that seemed to satisfy the requirement without having to eat their food.

    Young Dubliners Rockin' The House!!!

by FlanClan11 on 1/15/18The Canyon Santa Clarita - Santa Clarita

We've seen the Young Dubliners numerous times and each time it just gets better and better! This particular time was special because Keith pulled our daughter up on stage with the last song and let me just say, that girl was in her glory having the time of her life. It is a moment in her life she'll never forget and we couldn't be more grateful! Thank you Keith!!! Every time they come to town, we're there...or even if they're in a close state for that matter. If you want to have a good ol' fashioned rockin' fun time, don't miss the Young Dubs, it just doesn't get any better. One of these days, we'll see them in Ireland and then I'LL be in my glory. :)

    The Dubs bring it again!

by drummer755 on 3/31/15The Canyon - Agoura Hills

The Young Dubliners always put on a great show. The music is fun, the guys are talented and the fans are loyal. I enjoy seeing my friends from the Ireland trip whenever I go to their concerts. I also love going to the Canyon Club. It's a cool place where one can actually park free. I liked that I could book a seat this time for when I got tired dancing.

    Young Doubliners were great!

by IrishCG on 3/19/12Body English at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The Young Doubliners played great. But the venue was cold as hell inside. Even the waitress said it's always like that and wish they would turn the AC down... And the sound kind of sucked. It completely shut off during two songs but the band kept playing which was cool. The band rocks, I just wasn't to happy with the overall sound and temp inside.

    It was good

by Noxiousgas on 3/18/12Body English at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The band was okay. Mostly loud, had some tech problems in the beginning. Really couldn't tell one song from the next. The band was really trying to prove how Irish they were. The venue at hardrock is only fair. Too many posts blocking the view, and the thermostat was on blasting hot, I think in an effort to get people to drink more.
