With four Grammy awards and eight million albums sold worldwide, Yolanda Adams is considered one of the greatest gospel performers of her era, achieving a level of success outside of her genre that few other gospel artists have experienced. After singing in several local Houston choirs as a child, Adams made her debut as a solo artist in 1988 with Just As I Am. The album was initially criticized for its fusion of jazz with traditional gospel, but the unique sound soon became her trademark. She hangs with the best while on tour, making worldwide stops throughout her career and performing to sold-out arenas of thousands of ticket holders. Her style is considered one of the bases for modern gospel, with its fusion of jazz, traditional gospel and rhythm and blues. Some of her live concert performances, such as Live in Washington, have gone on to become Grammy-winning performances. In 2011, she released her 11th studio album, Becoming, to critical acclaim.
Adams initially captured the attention of gospel labels when she debuted as a lead singer with Houston's Southeast Inspirational Choir. After her debut album took off, so, too, did her professional career, culminating with her most famous single, "The Battle is The Lord's". Her album, Mountain High...Valley Low, would earn Adams her first Grammy Award and a Dove Award. Along with several national honors, her career has been so genre-defining that in 2009, Billboard Magazine named her Best Gospel Artist of the Last Decade.
They had a problem with the sound but still a phenomenal show!!!
The Lord was in the arena. This was my 1st time seeing her perform. There were a few things that happened that could have made it go another way, but Yolanda Adams came out and gave her best, and it was a great! I enjoyed her!
The experience was nice I was a little disappointed that Leandra was not there that was my main purpose for the ticket overall it was a great show
I love her voice and I love her songs she shared how the airline missed placed her luggage and but the behind it all she was saying how it was going to be a blessing behind it and she was just amazing and I pray God will continue to bless her and her music
She still got it! She is still one of my favorite female artists!
This was the Best Concert I have ever been to in my 46 years of Living!!!!! Everything was done in Excellence!!! The Energy was Everything!! I am still feeling the impact of this Experience!!! I only wish I could go back into time!!! Everyone was Amazing.... I really enjoyed the DJ and the Host of the event !!!! I loved Everything about this Experience!! Looking forward to the Next One!!! This has been the first of many to come!!!
I think she was amazing. The whole program was amazing to be honest if she somewhere close by I’ll go see her again
Show was amazing the artist was outstanding. One artist did not show. Will be in attendance if they have another one.
I had the greatest time at the concert. Jekalyn Carr was great. Kelontae Gavin is truly anointed. Would definitely pay good money to see him perform again. And Yolanda was Yolanda. Outstanding! And Tye was the bow on top of the present.
The program was great. Local singers could have been deleted but all performers were good. Be considerate of timing but overall worth every dollar . Jekalyn showed out and kelontae
Great show but could not see the entertainers face. I wish you had big screens or TVs so we could see better. The lineup was awesome.
Venue didn't open until 5pm. VIP email said be in your seat at 4:45pm. Swag bag was junk. A t-shirt, a sticker, pencil and a small badge. No real Meet & Greet. One photo taken by a photographer. No one has provided me with instructions on how to acquire a copy. More DJ than headliners. Not worth the price I paid for the ticket.
I enjoyed Yolanda Adams she was so real about life and she had that true feeling about life and she has that old gospel that is still needed today
This event was very aspiring. I was upset at first when Leandria couldnt make it but I had a nice time. I was thinking all this time that Ms Adams was the headliner when Tye Tribbett was. It was a little confusing. You can make it up by having Ms Shirley Caesar next year along with Leandria. 😊. Jeffrey did a wonderful job hosting and all of the artist performances were outstanding. Please invite Yolanda again next year and maybe her bags will make it this time. Love how she handled herself.
All the singer's Were Awesome Great spiritual Festival I will attend again for sure
So tired of paying to see Yolanda Adams come with no band or background singers. And she has no new music!
The spirit of the Lord was in the building 💜 It was great and refreshing!
The GOOD: - Every Artist DELIVERED! - Great venue - Security was helpful and on point The BAD: - Too many local artists, and the headlining artist didn't get on stage until after 9:30pm, 3 1/2 hours AFTER the concert started. - The sound was TERRIBLE. The sound techs obviously didn't know what the heck they were doing. - The concert was too long and started late. Start time was "scheduled" at 6pm and wasn't over until around 10:30pm. Ridiculous. All in all, promoters need to do better with gospel events of this magnitude. There was no regard for people's time, especially those who had to work Monday morning.
Always great to see her, it was nice seen her again
The concert was good. She sings really great! Her band did not travel with her but the concert was still amazing.
