    Average Concert

by Pete on 9/9/23House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

The sound was lousy for all 3 groups. Could barely hear the singer, the instruments were drowning out the vocals completely. I went to see Glenn Hughes mainly. He still has his voice, but didn't play a lot of hits by Deep Purple. I stayed for a couple of Yngwie songs, but left after that.

    Long Awaited Return

by Musicmonger on 9/5/23House of Blues Houston - Houston

An interesting Co-Headline show. Thanks to Malmsteen for this collaboration and his bringing Glenn out on tour with him. But for many, this show was more about Glenn Hughes. Glenn came through Houston/Texas with the Dead Daisy's (which was great). But Houston, Dallas and San Antonio has been jone'sin for the legendary Glenn Hughes (it was last in 1999). This tour was about his hey day in Deep Purple that most are familiar- The next one needs to be more inclusive to the rest of his 53-54 year career. There is a lot more to Glenn Hughes than just Deep Purple. I hope big $$'s get behind Glenn supporting a tour that can show us all the rest!

    More Rising Force

by A/C on 9/4/23House of Blues Houston - Houston

The only complaint I have is that I wish Yngwie would have played longer. The opener played for 90 mins while Yngwie played for 60 mins. Great concert and glad I attended. Yngwie looked like he was having a lot of fun.

    Glenn Hughes Live 9/1/2023

by MJSmusic63 on 9/4/23House of Blues Houston - Houston

Glenn Hughes put on a fantastic show as usual and gave the fans in Houston a performance to remember until his return in 2024 as he promised the audience. The band was outstanding with longtime sideman Keyboardist Ed Roth along for the ride after 25 years of playing music alongside Glenn and forgive me for not learning their names a guitarist and drummer that were at the heights of their abilities during this high octane performance. Glenn Hughes’ voice was in it’s incredible range of 3 or 4 octaves and his bass playing was inspired during the show as he mixed in his usual mix of Rock-Funk playing throughout the evening performing at least 6 songs from the Burn album by Deep Purple, the title cut from Stormbringer, and Getting Tighter in memory of Tommy Bolin from Come Taste The Band. Be sure to check out this tour by Glenn Hughes and his band celebrating 50 years of the Burn album!

    Amazing guitarist

by koji on 9/4/23House of Blues Houston - Houston

I have been a fan of Yngwie since he was in Alcatraz, and he was amazing to see in person. He played for nearly two hours. He played all my favorites from Marching out and Rising Force albums, plus he did "Star Spangled Banner"and Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water"

I really hope Yngwie and Glenn Hughes come back next year. If they do, I’ll make sure I get even better tickets! Amazing show beginning to end!

    Disappointed in venue

    by Mdpick on 9/4/23

I liked the show. Glenn Hughes was great! What disappointed me once again was my inability to tell whaat type of tickets i purchased for the HOB in OLA. I thought I bought floor GA tickets. On arrival there was floor SEATING and I was relegated to the back. If you know anything about the HOB in NOLA, you know the view from the bar or balcony SUCKS unless you are on the railing. I need to be able to tell in advance what the seating/standing arrangements are. This has occurred before. I’m really to the point of just not going to HOB anymore. I need to be able to decide when I am willing to upgrade to floor seating or just bow out of a show. Shame, but the that’s the facts, Jack.

    An Excellent Concert

Excellent venue for an excellent gig by Glenn Hughes who has lost none of his vocal prowess and is an inspiration to those of us in our early 70’s!☮️🖖🏼♌️

    The Yngwie

    by Manny71 on 8/28/23

Fantastic as usual. I probably can't name more than 10 of his songs but it never matters. An exposition of guitar work. His band is always tight. Sound is huge in a small venue. Great show.

    Great show!

    by Kk on 8/26/23

First came Glenn Hughes. He was great. Sounded better than the current Deep Purple IMO. Highway Star and Burn were absolute highlights. Then Yngwie Malmsteen! What can I say? He's just a force of nature. His guitar technique and virtuosity are outstanding. Incredible show!

    Fantastic Concert.

    by Guitarman on 8/26/23

Glenn Hughes opened the show with songs from his stint with Deep Purple. What a vocal range! Tight band. Yngwie J. Malmsteen. The name says it all. Amazing. Great band! Security deserves a "job well done."

He is a highly talented, personable, showman

    by Rusty C on 8/25/23

He showed that he loves playing in front of an audience. I don't think that the rummors about his ego are true, he seemed very genuine. His band was strong and his keyboardist also performed most of the vocals exceptionally well.

    Ridiculous and Annoying!

    by Jukebox Hero on 8/25/23

First let me say unequivocally that I thoroughly enjoyed Glenn Hughes! Awesome performance marred only by forces not in his control. People sitting behind me being allowed to walk up the aisle in front of me and proceeding to block my view. Made worse by everyone holding their cellphones high above their heads to videotape every song. No security or ushers to stop it. I could have stayed home and listened to his music. I've been to well over 50 shows and NEVER experienced such indifference to people blocking the view of those behind them. I missed half the show despite being in row JJ , approx. 40 feet from the stage. As for Yngwie Malmsteen , definitely not my cup of tea. He was apparently under the impression that playing notes as quickly as possible translates into good music. I found him so uninteresting that I left 2 songs into his coming on stage. He clearly has a specific following. I won't be returning to the Palladium.

    O M G

    by AliBrad430 on 8/25/23

My son ( teenager) is a HUGE fan. I’m mom support ,so I try to get him to see his favorite bands as much as possible. This show was amazing! I have never seen anything like it! And we got bumped up to the front row by a kind stranger! It was epic, he is truly a guitar wizard. The mix of classical music and heavy metal is out of control amazing!! I left a new fan of all 3 bands that performed! And my heavy metal kiddo had a core memory created by one of his first guitar heroes! It doesn’t get any better then that!!

    Absolutely Disappointing

by Thorcules on 5/8/23Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

Was very excited to see Yngwie Malmsteen live, loved his music for ages now. Paid for a concert that was supposed to start at 7:30, not guitar lessons with a drum kit and a Q&A session that started at 9:15. Literally gave it 20 minutes before I walked out. Haven't been this disappointed since I saw Dokken live, but at least they had a band playing.
