Yngwie was amazing...but...we had to stand for 5 hrs, which is rough for a 65 yr old like me. And there were too many bands especially the first band of no talent nobody's. Of course, they make Yngwie look super human in comparison, but he doesn't need that kind of build up. I am not a huge fan of Glenn Hughes, since he sang back up vocals to David Coverdale when in Deep Purple, but he put on an EXCELLENT show and I and my GF thought he was even more entertaining than the guitar virtuoso himself. Although no one will read this, I also thought the drums for Yngwie were WAY TOO loud and annoying. We left early because of this. The driving beat is not Yngwie's best look in my opinion. And he should find someone who knows how to sing like Joe Lynn Turner...
One of the best shows I’ve seen him perform. Absolutely amazing like always
Every band was great, but the sound was sad to say not that good, I was there to see Glenn Hughes doing his BURN tour and it was fantastic, Yngwie was fantastic also a hard task to be after Glenn Hughes. If you are able to see the tour you should, the guys are all firing on all cylinders.
Two of my favorites a great guitar player and what can I say about Glen Hughes great performance by both it was and unforgettable night so happy to witness.
Great show ! Best show I have seen after Covid. It was a great time . 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Glen Hughes performance took the event beyond the Moon. What a powerfull voice and great performance. I feel really luck to be there that night. Outstanding sound check crews on both artists along with a great concert audio systems.
Everything was great, except some drunks that were pushing and throwing away their drinks on my girlfriend and I 😡🤬
Yngwie J Malmsteen is the top of the top, he makes every other guitarist look like its a junior high talent show. There just is no comparison.
The performance of Yngwie Malmsteen and his band were outstanding. The turn out was good. Lots of people showed up and had a great time.
Top of the line, excellent, superb, wonderful, spectacular, golden, diamond, very great!
I purchased fast pass for my tickets. Me and my buddy got into the venue(Ace of Spades Sacramento). Nice and early. This venue is really great for a club. Absolutely no issues with getting in. Security people were great. The opening band was great. Yngwie was just as amazing as he always has been! He played quite a few songs, especially the old ones. He did the star spangled banner as well as Smoke on the water. He hit the old albums, as well as later albums. You just never get tired of his amazing guitar work and awesome songs. The tickets I purchased were GA(general admission). Plenty of room at this venue to get a really good viewing of the stage and band(s). I've attended shows at Ace of Spades before and will in the future. Great staff, and overall experience. Thank you!
good sound great guitar play and band performance hope see you in Japan
Let's start with Yngwie Malmsteen. Wonderful show! Great showmanship! I did not know what to expect, but Yngwie and his team were professional and organized. Everything seemed choreographed. He did not just show up and play, he had guitar and pick changes regularly. It was really well done. I can't say enough about Yngwie and his band and staff. Fabulous. I would see them again next time they are in town. The Venue: Staff was very nice, helpful and polite the entire time. From waiting in line outside to the bar and food service (I had a seat and a server - she was great!). Getting in to the venue felt disorganized and they were clearly not using technology to their advantage. There were premium seats available that I could not find in advance for purchase, but they were offered while we were standing in line. on the sidewalk across the street. To me this is weird. I should have been able to purchase these seats on the internet, known where to line up, etc. Once I got in, I had to wait in another line to show my ID to get another wrist band to purchase drinks. This line was very disorganized. I got sent to the side and then watched and waited as people behind me got to show their IDs first. Location of line was disorganized. I waited in another line to check in for my special seats. It was too long of a wait for what it was. Used the bathroom and there were already no paper towels. Oh yeah the bathroom...walking in there is a men's and women's bathroom. The signs on the walls were explicit. The men's is a typical group bathroom. After washing my hands, there were already no paper towels right at the beginning of the show. Then, walking out, I could now see the propped-open door read, "All Gender Bathroom"or something like that. This is not an all-gender bathroom, this is about 10 urinals right next to each other with no dividers. I don't know what the point of that sign was. It said Men on the wall, then All Gender on the door. Women should not be walking into that row of stalls. There is no privacy at all in there. Went to me seat. Chair was not very comfortable and the area felt dirty including the chair, rug and floor. The sound system for the opening band was horrible. It was too loud and the mics all blended together. I don't know who was responsible for the sound quality but it was not done well. You could not hear the singer clearly, and the instruments just blended together. The sound system for the main show was better, but still not great. Probably too loud so many of the instruments and back-up vocals were not discernable. My biggest gripe was the lighting system. The stage was very dark and comparably there were bright spotlights on the crowd. The crowd spotlights didn't just sweep over the crowd occasionally, I had lights in my eyes for much of the show. I had to sit there squinting to avoid the glare and see the show. It was uncomfortable and got pretty mad about it. It's like someone shining a flashlight in your face. So, you couldn't see Yngwie or his band very well because the stage was too dark, but the lights in your face made it even worse. Please fix that. It was bad.
Yngwie absolutely crushed it! Ace of Spades staff was fantastic!
Yngwie is a mad professor…a modern day Bach, and he’s still got one hell of a karate kick! This is a bad man!!!!!
Yngwie was full of young energy and can still shred the gnar!
Amazing that we still plays at the level he does after 40 years. This keyboardist on this tour was incredible too. In fact, the whole band was awesome, I do think he needs more Marshall amps on stage and/or a bigger stage :-). Why 3 instead of 4 stars, HOB in SD is not may favorite to place to see concerts.
What a great night , awesome , great as usual , and Glen Hughes was awesome too!
The entire experience exceeded my expectations! The House of Blues San Diego turned out to be a great venue and I easily found parking. A shout out to staffer Jasmine for shepherding me through the process, using Fast Lane! I had not been expecting THREE performances and the first band did a great job getting the crowd fired up. Though, with Glenn Hughes coming on, not sure we needed the firing! He and his group were awesome! Glenn still has the chops! Then, Yngwie - pure energy! What a show! My first time seeing him, but not the last! He was just incredible! Great, great time!!!
