About

With his ubiquitous 2010 hit “Toot It and Boot It,” rapper YG established himself as one of hip hop’s biggest rising talents. Born Keenan Jackson in 1990, YG released his first mixtape at just 18, quickly garnering a large internet following with songs like “She A Model” and “Aim Me” and attracting the attention of Def Jam execs, who signed him to the label in 2009. After being featured on the CTE World mixtape Boss Yo Life Up Gang in 2013, YG announced that his upcoming full-length debut would be produced by rapper Young Jeezy. “My Nigga” was released as the lead single to the album in September of 2013, reaching No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marking his most successful single to date. In addition to a string of mixtapes released between 2008 and 2013, YG runs his own streetwear label 4Hunnid and his own record label Pu$haz Ink. On tour in 2013 with acts like TYGA and Yo Gotti, YG has earned a reputation among ticket buyers for a stage presence that belies his young age, fueling anticipation for his upcoming live concerts and the 2014 release of his debut full-length My Krazy Life.

    It was okay

by Jessica on 1/23/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

He took too long to come out, too much time for the openers. YG only performed a few songs, and never fully finished a whole song. Seemed rushed. A lot of time standing around waiting for the next artist to come out.

    Pretty good

by Caly on 1/22/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

I had GA tickets, got there early but it was hell. Only good part about it was YG performing. Venue was too small for 7,200 people. I have bruises all over my body from that night. Worth it for YG though.

by Nessa on 1/22/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

I’ve been to this venue before and it wasn’t as packed as yg but yg performance was everything the whole set up, the lighting everything! Just hated all the pushing but hey it’s a concert that’s what you gotta be prepared for!

    Meet and Greet photography

by JMG on 1/21/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

There’s always room for improvement. The time and lines for meet and greet were long and rough. Then after all that the guy taking the pictures didn’t take very good pictures. I’m looking up in my picture and won’t share it. He could take more time and direct a little better and take a better picture so everyone is happy. Especially with all that time spent in lines and money paid.

    Ok, Venue not good

    by D. on 1/21/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

YG only played about 30 seconds of each song. It definitely did not feel like a headliner set. But most disappointing was the venue. WAMU was trying so hard to be safe with the alcohol distribution that it was really ridiculous. Checking ids multiple times (at entrance and then again at bartender) it really slowed everything down. Then they stopped serving alcohol when YG started at 9:15pm! I have never heard of such a thing. Then to top it off, they wouldn't let anyone back into the beer garden even though they weren't serving. So it was a huge unused space that could have been used for more standing room. I won't go to a concert here again. The bathrooms smelled like vomit and were in poor condition too.

    by J. E. on 1/21/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

Didn’t realize this venue had seats and I thought i would have to stand next to a lot of people and that wasnt the case, and it was a good vibe, sound was great and YG was great.

    YG

    by N. on 1/21/19WaMu Theater - Seattle

The whole experience was well worth everything!! YG Put on an amazing performance and I would definitely like to go see him again. Overall I would give 9/10 due to the staff being unorganized with entrance times and line setups but overall a great experience I had a wonderful time!

    Ehhh.. YG is rude

by okaynessa on 1/1/17Riverside Municipal Auditorium - Riverside

Okay this might look really long but please read it'll be worth knowing .. We got to the venue at 6 pm (doors open at 9 pm) and the line was somewhat long already, my friend and I were towards the front/middle of the line. we waited outside in the cold (57 degrees) until the doors opened at 9. Security does full body check for every single person which makes it much longer to even enter the venue. We got in around 9:30 pm everyone running to second floor where the stage is at. There was regular hiphop, rap, pop, r&b songs playing until a little after 10 pm when some unknown guys or "upcoming" artists as they called themselves came on stage and played their "underground"/"upcoming" music. Let's just say their music was alright but people were booing cause everyone was waiting for YG. YG didn't get on stage till midnight and stopped his performance at 1 am. I was pissed, I had been waiting since 6pm and he doesn't come out till midnight for only one hour, the rest of the show was other rappers who barley anyone knew with Lowkey crappy music (personal opinion). On top of that when YG was Rude as heck to his fans and security. (As I'm explaining this keep in mind I'm altering some words then what he originally said because I can't type curse words or anything inappropriate due to the review terms.) So anyways He brought out a Donald trump piñata and asked for 2 fans (guy and girl) to go up and hit it. When the female fan kept missing the pinata and YG got upset and said "nah give me the f'in stick, you can't even f'in hit it right get the f.. off my stage I don't want Wack a... fans like you, get the f... off my stage bxtch* go keep being a ho... and go suck some d... and she started crying and hopped off stage. He also kept telling the security guards "I know y'all doing my job but y'all ruining my show and not letting my crowd get hyped please get the f out the way, go the f home," etc. Also he told all the guys in the venue to grab any 'butt' they can and females grab the 'male part' and etc, I personally felt uncomfortable when he said that cause your surrounded by hundreds of other drunk and high strangers of all ages (literally) - as far as seating goes: The tickets have seat numbers but the numbers don't matter at least for the riverside municipal auditoriam venue. It's an open dance floor with some rows of seats towards the back and the seats have no numbers. People can choose to sit or stand, but the floor usually ends up beyond packed while seats not so much . The seats aren't close to the stage and it gets hard to see when so many people are on the floor. The sound/music is beyond loud so no matter where you're at inside the venue (upstairs in the main stage area or in the downstairs bar lobby)you will not have a problem hearing. This day all the seats and floor was packed including the balcony vip seats. The entire venue was full, like body to body. Over all, the venue is super nice so I would definitely come again for a different concert but not YG.

Long wait, but it was LIT

by killakylaaa on 12/6/16Riverside Municipal Auditorium - Riverside

Doors opened exactly like it said, 9:30pm. The DJ was great! But they had other rappers I didn't know performing. They were like stalling and killing time. YG didn't come out until 12:00 midnight! It was kinda annoying because it was the longest wait ever. Plus, there are those people who kept trying to push thru and go infront of you! Besides waiting 2 hours+, YG killed it out there and it was LIT! He definitely knows how to throw a show/concert.

YG "FDT" tour 2nd show in Oakland

    by Tek1F on 12/2/16Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

mann YG never disappoints! this is literaly the 90th performanse I've seen this dude put on, and he'll never capture dullness in his shows. Particularly to this show, his energy stayed up, engaged with crowd, expressed his luv to the audience tremendously aswell as mixing his great old klassikx . been a YG fan since 2007 and still continue to be. There isn't anything different that seperates YG from all other artists but one main thing....Charisma, he brings it on a BAD DAY. (enjoy everyone)

    YG Got Me Going

by RJMark on 10/20/16Irving Plaza - New York

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the concert. The opening acts were a bit long, but I did enjoy the energy that DJ Vision, RJ, and Kamaiyah brought to the stage. I loved YG's set and that he performed songs from both of his albums. The special guests such as Jeezy, DJ Mustard, and Dave East were also amazing. Favorite part of the show for me was the Donald Trump pinata and it's demise. My only complaint is that his actual set was very short. I would've liked him out there a bit longer.
