YELLE IN CONCERT:

French electropop sensation Yelle is an ingenue for a new generation, blending the innocence of '60s chanson with the production savvy of contemporary dance music. As stylish as she is talented, the bubbly singer takes the stage at her live shows in cutting-edge stagewear, dancing energetically while charming audiences with her thickly accented banter. Whether she's jumping around to early favorites like "A Cause des Garcons" or treating fans to cuts from her highly anticipated third album, Yelle always brings the dance party on her fun-loving tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Yelle was formed in 2005 by singer Yelle, a.k.a. Julie Budet, and drummer/producer GrandMarnier, a.k.a. Jean-Francois Perrier. The duo's first track "Je Veux Te Voir" became a MySpace sensation in 2005, generating significant buzz and landing them a deal with Source Records. After adding producer Tepr to their lineup, Yelle released their debut LP Pop Up in 2007 to glowing reviews and a No. 8 position on the US Dance chart. The album landed two Top 20 hits on the French charts and earned the group legions of fans around the world, resulting in three years of touring in support of the album. Yelle released their sophomore LP Safari Disco Club in 2011, once again reaching the Top 10 on the US Dance chart before embarking on a critically acclaimed world tour. With their highly anticipated third album hitting shelves in 2014, Yelle once again has fans eager to catch them in concert.

    Yelle was amazing

by BMWright2020 on 5/24/11The Music Box - Hollywood

Yelle is the hottest, most energetic, french woman you will ever see on stage! Her use of lighting and dance moves were unreal. She was grateful throughout the entire show, thanking LA several times between each song. She was genuinely happy, and even did a meet and greet after the show. She took a while (30 mins) for the meet and greet, but that got rid of a lot of people, so it worked out in the fans' favor. She is amazing, regardless if you know the french language or not. SO WORTH IT.

by kelllllay on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

She was super cute and hilarious onstage, completely entertaining! i didnt know the words or many songs from her new CD but it was still amazing. i danced and laughed the whole time, i would see her live again any day. French horn rebellion was good too, seemed like really funny and cool guys. and that one dude is really good with the french horn (i though the band name was a name only, boy was i wrong!).

Didn't think it would be my bag but it was amazing

by StickInTheMudYuppie on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

This was a great, very fun concert. It was a nice venue with plenty of space. The drinks were a bit overpriced, but that's L.A. The crowd was ready to dance like champs, and the band definitely made that happen. Up-beat, fun songs. Lots of good music. Just a great time. I would go again in a heartbeat.

    Yelle w/ French Horn Rebellion

by Anonymous on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

I have to say that Yelle was amazing, but what wasn't amazing was the fact that I had to wait forever for just two bands to play. I got there at around 7, which was when it was supposed to begin. We were lined up outside for nearly an hour and then had to wait another hour for French Horn Rebellion to play, who had technical difficulties for a moment or two. Then after that another hour wait for Yelle. I enjoyed Yelle and French Horn Rebellion, but I don't know whether it was the venue's fault for the wait or what. The ambiance of the Music Box was nice but that wait was excessively long. The lighting was done well during Yelle's set.

They are amazing, she is amazing... They do suck a great live show that you never want it to end and getting to see her in such a great venue space really makes the experience that much better, but really you can never have a bad time with them. I can't wait for her to get played on the radio and become more mainstream because they are such a fantastic band they deserve only the best and i can't wait to see them again.

Had me moving the whole time

by ChrisKelly on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

I had a great time at this concert. Felt bad for the opening act since their equipment had issues so they had to cut their set short. But Yelle was awesome and had good energy throughout. Definitely one of those types of bands that can command a smaller stage

    What the french toast!!

by RobieRob on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

YELLE was amazingly awesome LIVE! She knows how to rock the stage and pump up the crowed. I came accross one of her songs last year and I knew I had to see her live. I may know a word here and there in french but no need too when her beats makes up for the language barrier.

I am even more of a fan after seeing her in concert. Her voice sounds incredible live. It was a really fun concert. I recommend seeing her in a standing venue that way it is a big dance party.

The Most Fun I've Ever Had. Ever.

by Chuckito on 5/23/11The Music Box - Hollywood

For 90 minutes or however long Yelle played (I have no idea), it was the most fun I could possibly imagine. They sounded great, the lights / FX created a great atmosphere, and the performers were so gracious. An absolute pleasure of a show, I wish I could see them play every night.

by CastroShaun on 5/23/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Yelle was super amazing! I would totally see her again! Everyone in the crowd was dancing. The only downside was the bar in the back of the room. Those idiots were so slow.

    Yelle = Heaven

by VinnieM on 5/22/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Yelle was hands down the best live performance I've ever been to. Music sounded great, the place wasn't overcrowded, EVERYONE was dancing THE WHOLE TIME. I can't really put it into words.
