  • Awesome show by legendary band!!!

by Ken Avin on 11/2/24The Senate - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

X last tour and album, Smoke & Fiction, are a great end to a great band. Despite their, and my, age, I felt like the teenager hearing X for the first time in the mid 80s at the show. Seeing old friends, so I hadn't seen in decades, made the show only that much better. Great time. John, Exene, Billy, and DJ...thank you for all the years of music!!!!!!

  • X is the BEST

X was fantastic! They exceeded all expectations. Incredible experience. Venue was very nice as well. Clean bathrooms!

Great show and nice venue. If the beer had been a bit cheaper, I

  • Just as good now, as they were way back when

by X is a great band. on 10/28/24Brooklyn Bowl Nashville - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful time seeing X, In Nashville, at the Brooklyn Bowl. The band is still as great as ever. Nashville had so many great things going on (it was Halloween weekend). The Brooklyn Bowl is a perfect venue to see Bands like X. A most amazing adventure

  • Classic band in a return to form

by Jeff on 10/28/24Brooklyn Bowl Nashville - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen X over 20 times over the years, in multiple venues and cities. This last run of shows for them has been a standout. Everyone is on point and the camaraderie is visible among the band. I hate it’s the ‘last tour’ but if so they have gone out on a high note.

  • Great show, venue always dissappoints

by Richard on 10/28/24Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

X were incredible, it was great show from start to finish. But MInglewood was as always a second rate venue. Please go to the Pageant in St. Louis for tips on how run a similarly-sized club. Seats and tables for everyone arranged in such a way that everyone has a great line of sight to the stage, and a bar with real cocktails and a variety of premium beer and wine selections as opposed to the very limited selection available at Minglewood. Minglewood could be great with just a few tweaks.

  • Go See X In Concert NOW!!!

by JonB on 10/27/24Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen X three times on their "Smoke & Fiction"farewell tour: Kansas City & St. Louis in July, then in Memphis on October 24. Each performance has been better than the last. If you're thinking they might be "phoning it in", forget that. They played for real each time I saw them. It was all killer, no filler. The setlists were great mixes of classics and some new stuff off "Smoke & Fiction."Sure, due to health reasons Billy Zoom now sits on a chair through their set, but his playing is still energetic and super sharp. The band says this is their last national tour, which may or may not turn out to be the case, but you shouldn't miss what could be your last chance to see them at a venue near you.

  • -X- Forever

by The Hungry Wolf on 10/27/24Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

An incredible performance from one of my favorite bands of all time. It was a magical night, as the band didn't miss a lick, as Exene danced and swayed, John bounced around and Billy grinned his electric grin, all the while glued together by DJ's rock solid rhythms. Close your eyes and travel back to 1980. Less flying elbows, stage dives and pogoing, but what was always there was the music, and it will always remain. As usual, if the crowd could keep their phones in their pockets, we'd all enjoy it more, but it was reasonable. Jimbo Mathus and his group were phenomenal openers, and I couldn't have asked for more.

  • X in Houston

by Audrey on 10/24/24White Oak Music Hall - Downstairs - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

I love the band, I hate the venue. No seating at all. The majority of the attendees for this show were over 50, and standing for 3+ hours can be a deal breaker. I ended up leaving early.

  • X and empire live are two good things

by Snipper snap on 10/3/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Empire live is a cool venue. No seats no sections-just a rec tangular floor with a stage at one end and you go stand where you like. The sound is good and it just feels comfortable with no hassles. X are veterans with a long history and this night they played their first single and their latest album. Billy Zoom is the epitome of cool even though he needs a stool. John Doe and exene are in great voice and good as ever. For me, the highlights will always be cuts from Los Angeles and more fun in the new world which they played several songs from. The finale was three songs. John and exene with an acoustic guitar and one microphone doing a moving “see how we are”. Then the drummer switches to vibes and the auxiliary guy plays drums and they do this song from under the big black sun where Billy plays saxophone. If you like that sort of thing, then sure. The final song was a moving and powerful rendition on “ I must not think bad thoughts “.

  • great.....the bands still got it

    by Jim D on 9/29/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Been years since I had the opportunity to see X live......been a fan and followed them / performing live at many shows back in their heyday 80s 90s ........had never been to this venue before; but was a perfect space for the band..........I'm sure its grueling performing the same songs every night; and slogging over the highways by bus.......but the band put on a great show; they still got the chops.....tight with a catalog of songs touching on their many albums...........their latest album and tour are purportedly their last after almost 40yrs..........so if you get a chance to see them live; do so soon..............thanks again John, Exene, Billy and DJ

  • X show made life grand

by RobD on 9/28/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing as how I've waited close to four decades to see "X"live, before they die of old age that is, this concert was nothing but gold and diamonds for me and my wife. They are the best American band that nobody heard of which is a modern tragedy. Perfect venue too, small place full of avid fans of all ages and types. Appreciate that the tickets were so reasonable but honestly I would have paid much more. Contrast that with the fact that I wouldn't go see Taylor Swift if she played for free in my back yard. Klaatu Barada Nikto.

  • X PULLS IUT ALL YHE STOPS

by TJWas on 9/28/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Wow. Forty two years since I’ve seen X and they did not disappoint. From Billy Zoom’s blistering guitar riffs to DJ Bonebreak actually breaking his snare to Xene’s distinctive vocals, I was in heaven. John Doe plays about the heaviest bass lines ever and they were just pulsating through every single song. My son and I drove to Albany from Western Massachusetts for the gig and loved every single minute of it. The venue was fantastic (Empire Live) and Ticket Master made the process a breeze from holding my hand through the electronic download to putting the tickets in my Apple wallet to sending me reminders of what to do and when the show was. I would definitely go see X again at the same place AND use Ticket Master.

  • X are an inspiration for all

by Ozzie on 9/28/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

X is a band who I saw for the first time in 1980 at the Whiskey A Go-Go in L.A. They were young, fresh, inventive, and revolutionary. In 2024 I witness the band in Albany, NY, and the same four members are still fresh, inventive, revolutionary, and although not so young any longer, are now an inspiration for all to admire. One of my top shows of the year.

  • X never disappoints.

X is by far the best. They are non-stop. They never disappoint. Go see them!

  • Knitting Factory

by JRiot on 9/18/24Knitting Factory - Spokane - SpokaneRating: 5 out of 5

As X are winding down their final tour, Spokane was indeed fortunate to have them stop in. The music was incredible and showed no sign of aging. Definitely a great show. The other real heroes that evening were the staff at the Knitting Factory. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The venue itself showcased X’s final show beautifully. It radiated a sound that was fitting for a triumphant closure of such an historic band. The overall mood that evening was one of happiness and approval; the staff was a big part of this. Job well done!

  • X In the 303

    by BigT303 on 9/2/24Summit - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

X always brings it. The night in Denver @ The Summit was no exception. What a great show.

  • Great show. They sounded great!

by Mark on 9/2/24Summit - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

I understand that this is their last tour, so I am REALLY glad I got to see them one last time. I really like the Summit. Relatively small where you can get pretty close.

  • X at The Knitting Factory in Spokane

    by X9 on 8/27/24Knitting Factory - Spokane - SpokaneRating: 5 out of 5

X sounded great! New songs were fantastic and the classics rocked as hard as ever. Loved the venue and ticket app worked perfect.

  • Incredible X-perience

by RDianna on 8/26/24Knitting Factory - Spokane - SpokaneRating: 5 out of 5

The band was as good as they have ever been musically and vocally, and gave a great performance. Great venue - lots of room for everyone with out feeling claustrophobic. Sound quality was good. Thanks X for over 40 years of great music!
