About

With the release of her 1992 self-titled solo debut, Wynonna emerged as a singular force in American music. Beyond the five Grammy Awards, the multi-platinum albums and sold-out tours, the country/soul vocalist built on the Appalachian traditionalism that defined The Judds to create a world where Top 5 dance/club hits were as possible as being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Having practically grown up as America's favorite musical daughter, Wynonna matured into a woman who embraced how life is filled with peaks and valleys, great thrills, and heavy disappointment. Those realities informed her 5-times platinum Wynonna and nearing 3-times platinum Tell Me Why, the albums that gave voice to every human being emerging into their own adulthood with joy in their heart.

Beyond the groundbreaking music she and her mother created as The Judds, Wynonna has grown into her once-in-a-generation vocal prowess with an ease that made people clamor to her. "No One Else On Earth," "Tell Me Why," "She Is His Only Need," "Girls With Guitars," and "I Saw The Light" set the next chapter in motion of for the girl from Ashland, Kentucky who became a global superstar.

  • Fulfilled every expectation and then some

    by ddbvi1999 on 1/17/15Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Wynonna during her "Black & Wy" tour with Clint Black, I saw her again on her solo tour, I went to the Judd reunion tour and now this. Seeing Wynonna in concert never ever disappoints! "Stories and Song" was just that...pulling from her extraordinary repertoire of music she used her songs to highlight the highs/lows of her life. Her accompanying musicians were just 3 and the sound reflected a performance as intimate as any I've ever seen of her. The power of her voice, the depth of her emotions were allowed to shine. This was the first stop of the tour and a bit of that nervousness showed through. However, it only added the "Wy" experience. Going to try and see the show again in March/CT when I'm up in that area.

  • Raw unedited music!

by AmyStan on 1/17/15Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

If you want real uncut unedited country music this is the show for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and her music. I will be attending the Fayetteville show because I enjoyed this show so much! Thank you Wynonna for bringing back such great classic music!

  • Wynonna's new show is her best ever!

by sobenc on 1/15/15Carolina Theater - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

If you have the chance to see this new show, GO! The first stop on Wynonna's new tour was in Durham in a 1000 seat historic theater that was, sadly, not sold out. It was like having her in your living room. She is relaxed, into the music, her voice is still incredible, and clearly there because she wants to entertain. There are no "frills" - only a three piece band playing with her and no backup singers. She flawlessly sang lots of favorites and a couple of covers that were really crowd pleasers. After seeing her dozens of times over the past 30 years (with and without Naomi), this has to be one of my favorite times. NOT TO BE MISSED!

  • Wynonna

Wynonna was fabulous as usual. She told funny stories of her family, introduced her soon to be husband and sang her tail off.

  • Wynona Y The Big Noise was awesome!

by NayRay on 6/12/12Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Wynonna rocked the Biloxi Hard Rock. Great show. And she is such the entertainer. Made me laugh out loud at her antics between songs. And the best, part, I got to tweet my seat and got a upgrade in my seat and got to meet her!!!!!!!!!

  • Like the old Wynonna better.

    by hp28 on 6/11/12Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 2 out of 5

She was 15 mins late for concert, gave her benefit of doubt it was due to bad weather at the time in Biloxi. However she did not make up this time concert wise. She has all new band members which are more like a rock band. She sang a few of her Judd songs and Judd songs rocked up. Basically band was too loud and overshadowed Wynonna's singing which is what I believe the majority of us went to hear Wynonna not a bunch of loud guitars and drums. I've seen about 7 of her concerts and was very disappointed in this one. Don't change your style, the old style works, the new DOES NOT>

  • Disappointed

by whykathy on 6/10/12Hard rock - BiloxiRating: 2 out of 5

Ive seen Wynonna 20+ times and am a fan! I've been really disappointed the last few concerts. She has a lot of talking it in which is fine with me but the last few have really been about how great she is so famous/ iconic/ a star etc. (granted she has an awesome voice) but don't gloat!! And she spends a lot of time dogging on the ex husbands, traveling with mom and how bad that was just seemed negative not positive. She used to have a lot of fan interaction -- but now she's got the guys blocking the stage, would not shake any of the fans trying to shake her hand, in the front row and we wereon the right side of the stage and she never literally even walked or hardly looked our way. She kept looking at the big screen of herself in the back! One fan tried to give her a gift and she said ok hold on and then turned around and walked off the stage !! Made some comments how fans are annoying and she has too put on her happy face around people. Don't like the new attitude,

  • Wynonna was awesome...venue was HORRIBLE!

by Rkb730 on 1/19/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 3 out of 5

It kills me to only give this a 3-star rating. Wynonna Judd was awesome, as always. I've seen her (and The Judds) before, and I will always go see her/them again anytime she/they come into the region. That being said, French Lick Resort was a terrible venue. Definitely not the rockin' Wynonna crowd that I'm used to. I was told (not asked, but commanded) to remain seated as the lady behind me could not see if I stood up to cheer... understandable I suppose because all the seats were on one level. But then the lady in front of me turns around to inform me that it would be appreciated if I would "keep my mouth shut and not sing." I was not singing loudly; I was not drunk; I was not spilling beer or falling all over the place; I was mearly singing along as so many others always do at all kinds of concerts. The venue was very bad in that all the seats were on one level and it made it difficult for vertically challenged people to see. I had the great fortune of seeing the Judds last year in Louisville, KY and that venue was packed and the place was rockin' ... like an awesome concert should -- it's not the symphony after all (which I do enjoy as well)! I was simply stunned and shocked over the "stick-in-the-mud" crowd at French Lick. I will think long and hard before ever seeing another show there.

  • Wynonna Incredible But Deserved Better Venue

by straightupjames on 1/16/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 3 out of 5

Wynonna has one of the best voices ever in country music but from the sound system at the French Lick Resort you would never know it. She sounded muffled, no bright tones, just bad. You would expect a venue that is bringing in such big names to have real seating rather than rows of uncomfortable chairs used at conventions. I also felt it was a dangerous set up if there had been an emergency, particularly a fire in which people might stampede. I was at the Beverly Hills fire in Florence Kentucky in the 70s in which 165 people died. I felt this room had the same feeling. Wynonna deserved much better and so did the audience for the prices charged.

Wynonna was very funny, and showed the love. Only Wynonna could sing that pure with no back up singers.Loved her song for the soldier.had a really good time, best concert I have ever been to.

  • Wynonna was great!

by Donna15 on 1/16/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 4 out of 5

Wynonna was not her "usual" country self. Her act is new and exciting with all kinds of upbeat music. Her new band is the best.

  • Wynonna!

by KASinKY on 1/16/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was great! Much more rock and blues than she normally sings. She even changed up the arrangement of some Judd's classics.

  • WY was awesome

I love Wynonna. this was my 6th time seeing her in concert. She is very personable.

  • by Anonymous on 1/16/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 4 out of 5

Love the Windsor Ballroom for a concert event! Was surprised that Wynonna is going "rock and roll" but did enjoy that she did some Judd songs.

  • Dismayed at the rock aspect!

by Dacer on 1/16/12French Lick Resort - French LickRating: 3 out of 5

Who am I to judge what Wynonna wants in her show? Her voice is pure and ranks right there with Elvis. "Grandpa" was a perfect rendition of her great talent.

  • Fantastic Voice, Disappointing Song Selection

by HugeCCRFan on 4/29/11Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts - PittsburghRating: 3 out of 5

Wynonna Judd has a singing voice of superb range and power. With her band, two backup singers and the Pittsburgh Symphony she opened the show with the 1935 classic song "I'm in the Mood for Love". This was followed by a great rendition of the 1952 classic "When I Fall in Love". This set the tone for the evening which was a performance of primarily doing covers of songs. All were performed very well except when she sang the Elvis Presley hit "Burning Love" which, in my opinion, was a bit choppy and simply did not fit her singing style. The best song of the evening, another cover, was the performance of Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love is". The combination of Wynonna Judd's voice with the backing of her band and the Pittsburgh Symphony was superb. While I enjoyed the covers I was surprised that she did not perform more of her own music and the music of The Judds. By my count she did two or three of her songs and only one Judds song. This was very disappointing for the Judds fans in the audience who come to see and hear the hits of the artist. During the relatively short performance of 1 hour and 20 minutes Wynonna Judd made a number of comments in reference to her, at times rocky, relationship with her mother, Naomi. At least three times she made negative comments about spending ten years on a bus with her mother. After awhile this got a bit old and took away quite a bit from the evening's performance. She conveyed a kind of "I am on my own" attitude and I believe that this resulted in the set list of what she wanted to perform and not what the fans came to hear.

  • Wynonna Judd (and Naomi) have beautiful voices!

I have seen Wynonna in concert eight times and she & Naomi in Dec when they performed their Farewell Encore concert in Columbus Ohio. They are both truly amazing women. As to the person who said Wynonna was rude? I honestly dont' knwo what you're talking about! She & Naomi are both very gracious artists and most of all people!

  • wynonna was rude and made bad comments

Wynonna was rude during the show , she sing other songs but her own mostly . when some people got up to leave , she made commnent like i do not want people who wear sandals at my concert , which in turn i take it as calling us names or being low life . i make sure alot of people know that , i am really surprise you condoned behavior like that
