About

WOLF ALICE IN CONCERT:

British indie rockers Wolf Alice marry dreamy pop melodies to psychedelic sonic textures to create a complex yet catchy sound that is sure to fascinate audiences. At the band’s live shows singer Ellie Rowsell alternates between singsong verses and screamed choruses to brilliantly enact her impassioned lyrics. With their cranked amplifiers and well-orchestrated blasts of feedback, the rest of the band matches every emotional twist and turn the singer conjures. While these aggressive elements are part of their calling card, they maintain a controlled vibe with composed loud-quiet dynamics and group harmonies that give songs like “Moaning Lisa Smile” a surprisingly sweet edge. As Wolf Alice hits the road to promote their 2015 debut My Love Is Cool, ticket buyers will be treated to an up-and-coming band that is poised to take over the alternative music scene.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Wolf Alice formed in 2010 around core members singer/guitarist Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, eventually growing to include drummer Joey Amey and bassist Theo Ellis. Things rapidly picked up for the North London quintet in 2012 when their digital single “Leaving You” received considerable radio play on BBC Radio 1 and a mention in NME’s Radar section. Their first physical single “Fluffy” arrived in 2013 followed later that year by their debut EP Blush. The releases garnered praise from several respected news outlets such as The Observer and Clash, and in 2014 Wolf Alice was named the Best Breakthrough Artist at the UK Festival Awards. In early 2015 the group released the single “Giant Peach” off their forthcoming full-length debut My Love Is Cool, whetting fans’ appetites for the album’s July release.

Throughout their career, Wolf Alice have drawn massive crowds of fans, packing venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Fillmore to capacity.

    Beyond Amazing!

    by C. K. on 4/19/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

Wolf Alice may just be the best alt/indie band on the planet! The concert was a triumph on every level. Ellie is a fantastic singer/frontwoman but the entire band is incredible as well. I attended with three friends, all of whom had little to no exposure to the band prior to this show; they all all now WA fans for life! I loved the show so much that I drove to Houston the next day to watch the show at House of Blues. Thanks to Ellie, Joff , Theo, and Joel for a truly memorable evening!

    Best Band Going These Days

by Swindy10 on 4/19/22House of Blues Houston - Houston

Seriously not sure why USA is late to the party on Wolf Alice. Not complaining for tickets are inexpensive and venues are smaller. But this is the best band going these days. Won Band of the Year at the Brits. Three albums in now and all exceptional. Wake up music fans. Wolf Alice is right in front of you!

Wolf Alice is amazing, Echo was fun, some security were jerk

by Alt Fan on 4/19/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

Wolf Alice put on an amazing show and were super cool when we met them after the show no thanks to a couple of roid rage security staff with major control issues. Always some douch nozzle threatening to ruin an otherwise great experience. The venue is cozy and fun.

Magical concert, best band in the world

by Brad on 4/18/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

This show was magic. It was my third Wolf Alice show in a week (St. Louis & Austin previously), and each one was great in a different way. I met some other fans before the show started, so even before the (great) opener Charlie Hickey came on, there was a great feeling of community. From WA's first song, the crowd was totally into it, and Theo Ellis remarked, "I like the vibe tonight!" The band sounded great, as usual, despite a couple of (atypical) rough spots in the backing vocals that just served to humanize then even more. (Ellie cracked a wry smile and kept going.) At the end, Joel Amey came to the front of the stage and handed out set lists and pairs of drumsticks--which I hadn't witnessed before. (Usually, the road crew do this.) Every song in the show was fantastic, and the whole night had a great energy. Wolf Alice are the best band in rock right now, and have been for five years. After the show, I got to hang out with the band and chat for half an hour. They're all very nice people, and very gracious with their fans. If you can get to a WA show, I highly recommend it.

Phenomenal Band in a Smothering Crew

by Poster Guy Geo on 4/18/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

The band was incredible and the intimacy of the venue made everything feel connected and perfect. A lovely night if one could ignore the strong enforcement of rules; be it with where we were allowed to wait by the tour bus, or how much a drink had to cost and the no running. I also wish the place had a phone number so one could ask for more details before droving over but there was none in their website, Google pages, external sites, etc.

    Wolf Alice

by Irishpunkdude on 4/15/22Delmar Hall - Saint Louis

Delmar Hall is such a quality intimate venue to see a show. What can I say about Wolf Alice. This was my 2nd time seeing them. They have a powerful sound and great stage presence. They have grown so much since they have come out. And their sound has evolved so much, that I personally think they are one of the best bands on the planet at the moment. Go see them if you get a chance. You won’t be disappointed!

    They never disappoint

by Citizengrant on 4/8/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This is my third time seeing Wolf Alice and every experience has been fantastic. Great set list, they don’t make the crowd wait, and they seem to be having a good time whenever they’re on stage. We had a bit of a lighter crowd in Indy this time, but they played like the place was packed. Great live band!!

This band never fails to impress. They were even down their guitarist and the fill-in did a great job learning the stuff in a short amount of time. Venue was nice and cozy, easy to get right up front, which is where you want to be for Wolf Alice!

    Great Live Band

by Steveb on 3/29/22XL Live - Harrisburg

Wolf Alice is an eclectic band that Always gives an excellent live performance. The gig was in the middle of nowhere Pa and I don't think it was a capacity crowd. That did not change the effort they gave. I love the intimate venue but they can rock a larger arena as well.

    Fantastic show

by Elizabeth on 3/25/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I wasn’t super into them until tonight. My dad got tickets because he absolutely loves them and I go to concerts like toddlers go to the bathroom, so of course I’m there. Anyway. Opener was curious. I still don’t know who he was. He never said his name. Which is hilarious, but also like what? Wolf Alice absolutely MURDERED their set. Fantastic flow throughout. Built the energy from the ground up. Ballads when we needed to breathe. And a push pit opened up and i lost my shoe on the wall of death. It was amazing. I loved every minute of it.
