WOLF ALICE IN CONCERT:
British indie rockers Wolf Alice marry dreamy pop melodies to psychedelic sonic textures to create a complex yet catchy sound that is sure to fascinate audiences. At the band’s live shows singer Ellie Rowsell alternates between singsong verses and screamed choruses to brilliantly enact her impassioned lyrics. With their cranked amplifiers and well-orchestrated blasts of feedback, the rest of the band matches every emotional twist and turn the singer conjures. While these aggressive elements are part of their calling card, they maintain a controlled vibe with composed loud-quiet dynamics and group harmonies that give songs like “Moaning Lisa Smile” a surprisingly sweet edge. As Wolf Alice hits the road to promote their 2015 debut My Love Is Cool, ticket buyers will be treated to an up-and-coming band that is poised to take over the alternative music scene.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Wolf Alice formed in 2010 around core members singer/guitarist Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, eventually growing to include drummer Joey Amey and bassist Theo Ellis. Things rapidly picked up for the North London quintet in 2012 when their digital single “Leaving You” received considerable radio play on BBC Radio 1 and a mention in NME’s Radar section. Their first physical single “Fluffy” arrived in 2013 followed later that year by their debut EP Blush. The releases garnered praise from several respected news outlets such as The Observer and Clash, and in 2014 Wolf Alice was named the Best Breakthrough Artist at the UK Festival Awards. In early 2015 the group released the single “Giant Peach” off their forthcoming full-length debut My Love Is Cool, whetting fans’ appetites for the album’s July release.
Throughout their career, Wolf Alice have drawn massive crowds of fans, packing venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Fillmore to capacity.

Wolf Alice is truly the best rock/punk band we have currently, and their live performance is absolutely powerful. A must see imo!
Super great show...huge sound, n=band was tight, Ellie's vocals were spot on...Visuals were amazing too!
Nothing beats going to The Wiltern Theater for any event, excellent venue with easy parking next door. Clean and well kept everywhere inside and out, great staff. Excellent sound system too. Wolf Alice flies under the radar here in the US but are superstars in Europe. Ten years of touring make them tight and overly talented. Ellie is a badass and her vocals have gotten even better with age. Their show was nonstop hits and LA crowd loved it. I only wished they added another hour. So good they brought tears to my eyes and a never-ending smile to my face! Never went to our seats, enjoyed Wolf Alice as close as possible right down on the floor. Thank you so much for a fantastic evening...
Wolf Alice are simply an amazing band in concert. Many bands sound good or better on recorded tracks than in concert but Wolf Alice are the reverse. They sound great in studio but even better in concert. The show was an awesome blend of energy, passion, sound, visuals, and soulful music. One of the top 5 concerts of my life……and I have been to many. Kudos to Wolf Alice. May you play on for years to come!
Wolf Alice is an AMAZING band! Was in another world at their show they are absolutely killer live! The venue and staff were amazing and i felt very safe! I also saw someone special which only added to the beautiful experience I had ! Definitely one of the best shows i’ve ever been to!
5 Stars for Wolf Alice, 0 Stars for the Wiltern. I bought floor tix and they took over half of the floor and said you needed "Pit" tickets to get near the front half of the room and crammed everyone else to the back half of the room. They wouldn't let my wife bring her purse in, now she doesn't even want to go to shows anymore :( The straw that broke my back...$35 for 2 beers. We are done! Wiltern, LiveNation and Ticketmaster, you will not see my money again.
Discovered Wolf Alice about 8 years ago in Glen Helen, CA. Just incredibly talented group. Show was awesome!
Lead band solid and a great combination with the main act. Wolf Alice delivered a throughly entertaining evening with great energy and stellar musicianship. Lead vocals were at times mesmerizing and I think you have a true star here.
I’ve loved their records and now I know they can bring it live! The sound was much and full and bright. The one thing is the vocals could have been turned up a notch (a sound issue, not a performance issue). But wow… just an amazing experience with an incredible band who rightly, we’re obviously soooooo honored to be on such hollowed ground. Loved every minute.
WA kicked &%^ on Fri the 14th at the Commodore Ballroom. An energetic set of rocking tunes, including 3-4 new songs, was served up by the London-based band. Playing was tight and crisp, and the audience loved the show. Never miss a WA show! You'll love the experience; you'll be disappointed if you miss them ...
An amazing wall of sound with intricate vocals and great musicianship all around. This band is even better live than I thought they would be, even though I’ve watched all of the live videos on YouTube. I even got to meet the Joel, drummer, before the show! It was pretty obvious that they had been tuned up and practicing and playing a lot since they just came from Europe, they were so tight and the arrangements were so perfect, an all-around great show.
Also, $13.50 for a beer is ridiculous. I won't be going back to the Fillmore any time soon.
Wolf Alice performed flawlessly at Fillmore Minneapoils last Friday night. They put on a high energy performance filled with their many hits and mingling ballads with rockers. Ellie Roswell has matured beautifully both in style and vocalizations. Simply said, she has a terrific voice with a broad range. She captivated the audience. And now she appears more confident than ever. Theo Ellis was bubbling with energy and delivered a wicked bass. Jeff Oddie and Joel Amery added to the stellar performance—this band is solid, with each member working seamlessly in delivering an overall outstanding experience.
All my expectations were met, and more! Greatest band playing today!
This band is absolutely fantastic live! They are kind of a Swiss Army knife. They can play ethereal dream pop, hard rock, punk…etc. Tons of energy and they sound great. See them in a small to medium venue and get your doors blown off!!!
This band brings it. SOLID show. Would see them again in a heartbeat.
First time to the Fillmore in Minneapolis. Very clean venue, can tell it was built after the smoking bans went into effect. Even the toilets are clean. The band, Wolf Alice, was spectacular. Their songs are great and they are clearly polished and tight. The stopped and started on a dime, time after time. Not some drunk college kids jamming. They were total pros, and it showed. The show was barely 80 mins but felt much longer because the performance was so relentless. Really, really great stuff. And great songs too, great songwriting, just all around fab.
wolf alice really knows how to put on a show. it was a religious experience for me. would absolutely go to a show of theirs again.
I liked Wolf Alice before the show. Not one of their super fans but I was interested in seeing them. I am SO GLAD I decided to go. That was SO FUN! Everyone in the packed crowd was having a great time. WA take the stage and take over. Such an upbeat, up tempo, aggressively fun show. If you think you like WA at all you MUST GO to a show!
