About

WOLF ALICE IN CONCERT:

British indie rockers Wolf Alice marry dreamy pop melodies to psychedelic sonic textures to create a complex yet catchy sound that is sure to fascinate audiences. At the band’s live shows singer Ellie Rowsell alternates between singsong verses and screamed choruses to brilliantly enact her impassioned lyrics. With their cranked amplifiers and well-orchestrated blasts of feedback, the rest of the band matches every emotional twist and turn the singer conjures. While these aggressive elements are part of their calling card, they maintain a controlled vibe with composed loud-quiet dynamics and group harmonies that give songs like “Moaning Lisa Smile” a surprisingly sweet edge. As Wolf Alice hits the road to promote their 2015 debut My Love Is Cool, ticket buyers will be treated to an up-and-coming band that is poised to take over the alternative music scene.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Wolf Alice formed in 2010 around core members singer/guitarist Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, eventually growing to include drummer Joey Amey and bassist Theo Ellis. Things rapidly picked up for the North London quintet in 2012 when their digital single “Leaving You” received considerable radio play on BBC Radio 1 and a mention in NME’s Radar section. Their first physical single “Fluffy” arrived in 2013 followed later that year by their debut EP Blush. The releases garnered praise from several respected news outlets such as The Observer and Clash, and in 2014 Wolf Alice was named the Best Breakthrough Artist at the UK Festival Awards. In early 2015 the group released the single “Giant Peach” off their forthcoming full-length debut My Love Is Cool, whetting fans’ appetites for the album’s July release.

Throughout their career, Wolf Alice have drawn massive crowds of fans, packing venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Fillmore to capacity.

  • Absolutely Incredible

Wolf Alice is one of those rare bands that sound just as amazing live as they do in studio. Ellie's voice is unbelievable. They always put on a hell of a show, but especially with this tour. I highly recommend seeing them live, even if you're just a casual fan.

  • Spectacular Performance!

I was already a huge Wolf Alice fan before seeing them live. But, now I am completely enthralled by them and their music. Ellie has really grown and refined her vocals over the years. Her special attention to the inflection, the raspiness, the airiness, the operatic tones absolutely enhances the overall quality and sound of the band. But the rest of the band are absolutely amazing in their own right. Loved the show! Love the band!

Great evening - Wolf Alice delivered. Flew all the way from Atlanta to Austin to see them and they didn't disappoint. Even came home with some cool t-shirts! Can't wait till the next tour....

  • Great show, venue needs work

Wolf Alice is one of the best bands I’ve seen live, just incredible. Emo’s the venue could use some updates. Some more seating outside and even inside for people who need a break from standing. It’s ridiculous to have to sit on the floor.

What a great show in a great venue!!! The band was on point playing lots of old and new songs! My favorites were The Sofa and Yuk Foo...amazing stage presence for both songs as well as the entire band nailing it...Ellie's vocals were incredible all night...band was also amazing and honestly was just an amazing show!!!

  • Great band! Performance a bit stiff.

by polymorphorism on 9/15/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

I love Wolf Alice! I'm very happy to have seen them live finally, after discovering them a couple of years ago! They were great players live, and Ellie of course looked great :). But the performance was a little stiff. Not what I expected from the videos and images of past shows which looked like a rousing punk show! Still. I'll see them again, every time they come back!

  • Best kept Rock & Roll Secret

by Rodrigo on 5/17/25Rating: 5 out of 5

These friends are one of the best kept secrets in America for some unknown reason. They are well loved and well known in the UK. This makes their US tours a special and intimate experience. Old and New School Rock & Roll, not as an “unknown” opening act, but they choose to headline in smaller intimate venues. This makes for an amazing experience for fans like my wife and I. Their upcoming album is being written with live performance in mind. No quick bubblegum pop found here. Songs like “Moaning Lisa Smile” (the original hook for me), the 8 min “Visions of a Life”, the raw and emotional “Formidable Cool”, the unforgettable kick of “Giant Peach” and the one/two intro kick of “Smile” to name a few are some of the best live venue rock and roll to witness in the last decade!!! And to be able to witness this genius in a 2500 capacity theater is why I say this talent is a hidden treasure. A rare experience..

I’m a New Yorker who had been living in Hampstead, a neighborhood in NW London from 2017-2020. A friend caught. A friend caught Wolf Alice in Brooklyn and was blown away. I noticed they were playing at a festival in Finsbury where Liam Gallagher was headlining. That was my first show. I left after Wolf. That’s really all I wanted to see. Since then I have seen them in NYC twice. It’s one of the best shows you can see in my opinion.
