by stryker19 on 12/26/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

    Meh

by Morgan on 12/23/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Not too shabby, but I feel like for the price they could have included more activities that you didn’t have to pay extra for. Spent about another $60 just for food and ice skating for 2. Will probably just head to Zilker next year and save the cash.

    Awesome family experience

by JB1561 on 12/21/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

This is the second year we have attended COTA Winter Wonderland. The light displays were breathtaking! The kiddos loved seeing Santa (this years Santa was 100% better than last years...), the light tunnel and all the rides! Will definitely be going back again next year!!!! One thing I would change--the individuals selling the wrist band for unlimited rides need to let families know how many rides little one's can actually get on. I was told my almost 3yr old could ride and participate in every fun house, ride, etc; this was not the case. He was not tall enough to ride but 2-3 rides. Having this information on your website would be good as well.

    Meh

by TinyTim on 12/19/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Interesting fun for the family EXCEPT for the little train car that rode around the grounds. The diesel exhaust from it was out of ordinary and made the air completely unbreathable. Other places have these trains and they don't give off a fraction of what this one emitted. Maybe if was breezy it would've been ok but could really enjoy the lights with that toxic engine spewing fumes everywhere.

    Kinda fun, but needs work

by Larry on 12/19/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The reason we went was to see my daughter perform with her choir group. They were singing christmas caroles and people probably would have stopped to hear them. Instead, the stage is off in a corner of the park, like an after thought, right next to a bunch of porta-johns. I'm biased of course, but these kids give their all for others to enjoy and the best they get is shoved into a corner because photo ops are more important. Which is ironic, because they are dressed in all their Dickens wear which is a photo op unto itself! If you want to surpass the trail of lights, you have to make it feel like a winter wonderland. Which is what caroling is, a reminder of past Christmas's. It's not a matter of trying harder, just be smarter with the placement of live, creative shows. Make me feel like the money I spend is a worthy investment in memories for my family, not a photo op with a COTA sign. We will go for the next 2 years because she'll continue to sing, but after that, it'll be trail of lights if you don't improve some things. Just make it better

It was ok. Not enough lights.

by Anonymous on 12/19/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

There should be more lights and specify that it’s mainly for kids since the area is so small. When I bought the tickets it stated there would be a maze , but in the end there was none. The really positive thing was the parking easy to get on and off shuttle.

    Wonderland freeze out

by CynSmith on 1/2/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Could have/would have been a wonderful outing but the surprise freeze out made it impossible. Wish there had been more respect in putting out the energy to provide some covered tent space and more space heaters so the people who paid and got this sub freeze weather could have at least enjoyed some of it....We would have spent more money on food, etc. if we had an indoor warm area to eat and take a break from the freeze between rides/strolls, etc. I will try again in better weather though.

Fun but prepare to empty your wallet

by Busymomi on 1/2/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Rides were fun, lights were neat, meet and greets were fun for kiddos along with the fake snow but the cost for an evening with two kiddos is very steep!! Food was expensive....add that to the cost of rides and admission and this was quite an expensive evening! Save the money here and head to Sea World's lights.

Disappointing and a waste of money

by TexasLynn17 on 1/2/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The whole thing was a let down. Maybe the space was too big but it looked under decorated at the entrance. The skating rink was a joke to say the least and cost extra. Those stupid magic money bands are ridiculous. Just use paper tickets or mail the bands out early or make them easier to load than downloading a damn app. The Santas village was sparse to say the least, hardly any stalls wasn't a good Christmas market at all. Basically skip this event. You'll have more fun going to round rock to walk through the town square or Greune or Fredericksburg.

    expensive

by Roniehudd on 1/2/18Circuit of The Americas - Austin

It was overpriced. I expected it to be more over the top considering is was a Circuit of the Americas. My 8 year old liked it though.

Pretty disappointing, but it is the first year...

by EagleDriver on 12/25/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Good idea but it wasn’t that great. Probably better for families with little kids but not much for adults. Light displays hung on the fence were marginal and kiddie-sized train cars were not suitable for all the adult riders. Very few food vendors so limited choices. Overpriced...admission was just that, had to buy wristbands for most things to do inside so it really added up quickly. Worse was some staff didn’t really seem to know what was covered and not covered or how many “credits” some things cost. I think it’s got a lot of potential, but they really seem to make significant improvements if they want to make it an annual event.

    A No-Go At Any Price

by JimmyJames99 on 12/24/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

That was enormously disappointing, and would be at any price. The mere time spent getting there and being there was a cost too high. I was looking to inspire a little Holiday spirit in the family and this was a fail. Sure, there were Christmas themed decorations and music but the whole thing seems like an afterthought. It's like COTA management said, what can we do with this amazing venue in December and then they put some college interns in charge of planning and execution. My wife said, upon leaving, I could have done better.

It’s great for very young kids but anyone over 9 would be bored. Kinda pricey for an entrance fee and then you still have to pay for everything inside

Good fun but had to pay for pretty much everything after entering the gate.

    Too expensive

by Charlie0714 on 12/24/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

They basically brought in a carnival, put up lights and called it a winter wonderland. Every single thing cost money and it was highly over priced. $4 for a bottle of water, $4 for a ride, etc. The “ice skating” wasn’t ice - not one person could move out there ($32 wasted). Huge disappointment - won’t go back.

    Winter Wonderland at COTA

by Chrissydferguson on 12/24/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

They did a great job of having so much for the kids to do!! It was very spaced out so there were only a few lines that were long (train and Ferris wheel). Overall they did a really great job. Decorations, events, parking was all very easy. My one negative was the cost. I don’t mind paying for my kids to ride every ride but the costs were expensive once you were charged as an adult as well. For my family to do the Ferris wheel was 20 credits ($20) and by the time it finally went around 3 times without stopping that was a waste of money! I don’t feel like you should charge adults with kids who have a minimum height requirement. Unlimited kid wristbands are a must! Overall great event but they nickel & dime you for everything once inside.

    Price Gouging

by Crnickname on 12/24/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

This event was $16, but the ticket just gave you the opportunity to spend money. It costs to do anything in this event. Compared to $3 Trail of Lights?! I’ll never go again...and from all the complaints of others, I’m surprised anyone would.

    Liked!

by Bladebabe on 12/23/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

We liked the fact that because the location is so large we weren't shoulder-to-shoulder with people. Be prepared to walk a lot! We did the camel ride. It seemed expensive for the little time spent on the camel. I think it will just get better every year. The first year is always trial and error. The lights were beautiful and the kids loved the Disney characters!

    Winter Wonderland Was Not Wonderful

by BahHumbug2 on 12/22/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

So, maybe, this event will grow and get better in the years to come since this was the first year. The positives were it wasn't crowded like The Trail of Lights and there is free parking....it isn't worth it to pay to park close unless someone has a disability....the lights are mediocre....all the fun stuff is extra....$15 to ride a camel which is two walking loops around is excessive. The money wristband idea is a good one...but....we paid $60 for a wrist band that gave us 58 tokens....each activity or food item was supposed to be $1 per token....so, why then did we pay $60 to get 58? For us, "been there, done that"....we won't be back next year.

    Too much money for nothing

by JozzoThaMhemba on 12/22/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

For spending $16 entrance fee and then extra for additional stuff after you get in... not worth it compared to Trail of Lights at Zilker Park. Maybe for kids, and if you want the peace and quiet of a relatively empty area.
