Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (then the Arizona Coyotes, who were in play from 1994 to 2024). In the 14 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made eight playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

There should be an option to listen to play-by-play during the game maybe and your peace plug-in on the armrestrest? Or Bluetooth? So people can hear play-by-play while they are watching the game
Was my sister’s first game and I was happy that I was the one to give her the gift to experience it. Go Jets Go
Very good experience. Seats were close to visitors bench. Best time at Canada life centre so far since jets came back to Canada.
We are family of the opposition and we stayed after the game to have a short visit with our son. We had older grandparents and small children with us and by the time we were leaving they wanted us to go out the exit right at the top of 109. We asked them if we could walk inside the rink, and walk around to the front of building? Where we were located was at the opposite end of where we wanted to exit. It would have been rather difficult to get our older & smaller family members to walk all the way around the outside of building back to front and then to our Parkade. The staff actually walked with us and allowed us to stay in the warm rink and take the shorter route to get out of the building and back to the front door. We really appreciated them for doing that. They walked with us and let us go out the exit at front rather than kicking us out the door at backside of arena with our family. A huge big thank you to your Staff!
The best place to watch an entertainment of NHL! The vibes are very amazing.
I was pleased with the wheelchair section but I don’t understand people behind me complaining that I was leaning forward.when your in a wheelchair and you can’t stand up at all to readjust your posture it’s very frustrating. This people should realize that I’m going to have to change my position and stretch out a bit. I didn’t lean forward very long but did it when I needed to. If they ever spent some time in a wheelchair they would understand better. That part I was not happy about. I don’t think anyone can sit for 3 hours without stretching out a bit, I’ll bet they didn’t sit perfectly straight in the chair they were sitting in and should realize no one else can either. At least they could get up and readjust I couldn’t do that!
Had a great time the bobblehead is awesome suucks we didnt win but great seats and fun times
Everything was amazing, EXCEPT the seat size! I am 5’7 and 175 lbs and I struggled to stand up to allow someone to pass by as every time I stood up my hips caught the armrests and I’m far from thick. I could only imagine the discomfort for anyone larger than myself. Other than that the entire experience was simply incredible. GO JETS GO!!!
Had the best seat, section 206 row 1 seat 15. Was my first NHL game (been to minor league games) and it was awesome!!! Winnipeg won 2-1 with 20 seconds left on the clock in overtime. Fans went crazy! Arena was very nice. Fans were great. I traveled from Louisiana, USA and the game was the favorite part of my trip to Canada.
Had a bad/poor experience getting to and from our seats. Took my stepfather, who is diehard Jets fan, to the game. With limited funds I had to get 300 level seats, my fault for not knowing the steepness and little room between row and seats. With a cane used for bad hip he had trouble getting to our seats. Thankful to fellow fans for helping him out the row and to the stairs.
It was great to have my family with me to enjoy this great game. The jets were on their game and blew out the Vegas knight’s with a 4-0 win.
All was good, enjoyed the game but not the result.
I drove almost 1000 miles from Chicago to Winnipeg Ma. I was denied access into Canada at the boarder. He told me I had all the right info , but didnt have the 24 hour negative test to get into Canada. They told me i had to drive 65 miles back to Grand fork ND. to a testing center. You would think they would have a testing site near the boarder. I didnt make it to the Jets game on Friday night very sad. I lost out on a $70 ticket. I was hoping you or The jets could issue me a credit for 1 ticket next year. I drove back to Minnesota and bought a $100 ticket for Saturdays game for the Wild/ Blackhawks game.I am a loyal customer. please let me know if you or the Jets could help. Thank you.GK
My 2 sons surprised me and bought us tickets for Friday’s game as I have been a Bruins fan most of my life ! We all wore our Bruins jerseys and had the time of my life ! My son send me my ticket to my ticket master app on my iPhone then I discovered I could add the ticket to my wallet on my iPhone which is awesome as it will work with no data/service etc as well ! Great experience with ticket master ! 9 out 10!
My Oilers won 4-2 but Winnipeg made it close and that much more awesome!! My time in Winnipeg was most memorable as well as hospitable!! Ty Ticketmaster
I turned 50 this year-so I decided to celebrate by going big! I have never been so close to the action! Third row!! My husband son and I loved the excitement and being there to witness The Kraken’s first visit to Winnipeg was incredible! I am beyond thankful I was able to enjoy that up close experience-a once in a lifetime experience with my one of children and husband! Go Jets Go!!
The seats were great, the staff were very professional. The drinks were very ice cold. The service overall was superior. Covid protocols were upheld.
Seats were a gift. Don’t think I’ve had seated in that area before. I could order drinks just by scanning a QR code in my seats armrest. It was a good experience. Would have been a great one if my team won. lol
Great place, good service, great seats! So much fun!
