I absolutely LOVED seeing Winger! I also loved seeing FireHouse! Both bands are so awesome to see at once. I just loved it. So much so I wanted to cry LOL. Was born in '87, but my musical soul lives in the 80s rock genre đ¤đ Hope to see them again sometime!â¤
Winger and Firehouse showed the youngsters how it is done. Energy and a level of performance that defies age. fun and excellent night at the venue
Kip Winger still sounds great. The band is full of great musicans. Beavis and Butthead would have been proud! Firehouse was an amazing opener
Took my son to his first show and I couldn't be more pleased in the experience we had at a wonderful venue as well .
Had the pleasure of seeing this band for the third time at Penn's Peak. If you've never seen them, and only use Beavis and Butthead as your musical guides, you might want to rethink your decision. Pound for pound, can't really think of a band that offers more talent on one stage. They boast 3 guitarists who could take over playing lead for any band on the planet, a drummer who is simply one of the best to ever pick up sticks and Kip, who is not only a great performer and songwriter, but most importantly, unlike most of the bands of the 80s (are you listening Bon Jovi?) can still sing his own songs. There are few bands I would see more than once...Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Styx...but I'd go back next week to see Winger again. A great show...don't miss them if you get the chance!
This was one of my favorite concerts Iâve seen. The energy was high and Wingerâs performance was amazing. The band sounded great and Kip hit all the vocals. Opening band Firehouse was incredible - really set the pace for the night. Pennâs Peak is one of the best venues in PA - great view of the stage. I matter where you are and the acoustics are always perfect.
The music of Firehouse and Winger was awesome but the venue seating at Pennâs Peak was poor. The 4 stars was for the music, not the seating.
Went because of FireHouse.Left before Winger came on,not a fan.
The concert was fabulous. The music definitely took me back to my teen years. Although social distancing has been difficult, it was amazing to be able to get back to somewhat of a normal life and what better way than a concert. Loved it!
Loved every minute of this show! It was so good to see live music again and they didnât disappoint!! It was well worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to Corbin, Ky from Nashville. I havenât seen Winger since the mid 90âs and they were just as good as I remember them to be! Firehouse and Bullet Boys were awesome too! We loved that Firehouse played all their songs from their 1st album (minus the last track!) Awesome show and I canât wait to see them again!
All 3 bands were Great and the Arena is unique and worth the drive.
Great intimate venue. After 30+ years this band can still bring down the house. Lots of energy and great mix of the oldies and newer songs. Overall great concert. Played over 1 1/2 hours.
Fantastic show - spot on performance from true rockers. It might be 30 yeRs later and we all of aged but the event was solid and quite frankly fun w even some comic relief from Kip himself! Reb was spot on as well!! Keep Rockin thanks for the memories!
I bought the tickets when they went on sale and got great seats. Later I bought the golden VIP pass. The performance was great. They still have it and even went off the set list just to mix things up (that's what Kip said) made it extra special. Meeting the band was a great experience and a fun bunch of guys. They weren't too loud made it even better. I don't have to have ringing ears to be a good show. It's was a small place so you don't need it to be that loud, great job with the sound guy.
The Northern Lights Theater is a great venue for concerts. It is intimate with great acoustics. Having seen Kip Winger as a solo artist and with his entire band multiple times now, always is personable and really cares to puts on his best performance.
Winger was great and Iâve seen them at this place before but it was extremely loud this time. We were on the lower level this time.
They sound even heavier live! Great show! They played all the best songs and put on a great show! They played a Van Halen song at the end too!
Got the girlfriend tickets for Christmas. We had a 4 hour drive to Akron. Ticketmaster helped us out with an Email the morning of the show, telling us of local construstion and the best places to park. Parked for free in a ramp across the street - 3 minute walk to the door and 2 people in front of us to get inside! Beautiful venue with friendly and informative people staffing the event. Firehouse was a great warm up band with a solid catalog of songs - CJ's voice sounded great and the music was very close to what you'd hear on the radio. Being from the 80s we're older and appreciate that the music wasn't so loud that you could not lean over and share a quiet moment with each other. Winger - Kip is a gracious and energetic host - he still sounds great! Made us feel that he appreciated us, his fans. He spent some time talking about the local music scene and encouraged us to support live performing artists and even shared the mic with a young local singer for a song. His two guitarist are impressive - some blistering licks and insane solos! They came out and gave you more than just the hits they brought some serious rock n roll attitude! Impressive show and a great date night!
Dec 29, 2018 was rocking to say the least in Akron , OH. My group drove 400 miles from KY to see Kip, Reb, Jon and Rod roar through their set. Midnight Drice of a Love Machine led off the set with other highlights being Hungry, Seventeen, Miles Away and Junkyard Dog. If youâve never seen this band live, you owe it to yourself to do just that. Firehouse opened and played great as well. Favs were Reach For the Sky, All She Wrote and Donât Treat Me Bad.
