About

WILD CHILD IN CONCERT:

Fans looking for a note-perfect recreation of the Doors' legendary '60s concerts need look no further than Wild Child. Dave Brock has been channeling the legendary charisma of late frontman Jim Morrison for nearly three decades and he's got the routine down pat, taking the stage with a talented band of players to deliver sets so uncannily faithful they satisfy even the most rigorous Doors purists. Whether they're brooding on "People or Strange" or burning bright on "Light My Fire," Brock and his band are sure to deliver another round of supremely satisfying performances on their latest tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Wild Child formed as a Doors' tribute band in mid-'80s Los Angeles, playing their first show at the Whiskey a Go-Go in 1986. Jim Morrison's untimely death in 1971 had created a void among fans hoping to see songs like "Touch Me" and "Hello, I Love You" performed live, and Wild Child filled it perfectly, selling out shows first in LA and then around the country. Since then, their painstakingly crafted tribute show has become legendary in its own right, spawning a live album and paving the way for continued touring nearly three decades since their formation.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKET SAY:

"They were amazing, he is this generation's Jim Morrison, he sounds exactly like him, incredible talent and showmanship!"

"Jim Morrison is my favorite and the Wild Child tribute band did an excellent job of portraying the highlights of the Doors. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone."

"This Doors tribute band really delivers. The lead singer totally channels Jim Morrison both in song and swagger. The rest of the band pumps it out as well"

    Wild Child - Awesome!

by Glodue on 7/17/10OC Fair & Event Center - Costa Mesa

This is about the 7th time I've seen Wild Child. The first time was about 12 years ago at the Dana Point street fair. I believe that this was the BEST yet! They nailed the Jim Morrison sound and act. I'd recommend anyone who likes Jim Morrison to absolutely see this show -- you'll love it too!

by DizzyG on 7/17/10OC Fair & Event Center - Costa Mesa

Great show. The lead singer is absolutely Jim Morrison!!! I saw The Doors three times in the late 60's, early 70's and the mannerisms, moves, voice are incredibly Jim Morrison. Doors fans should definitely see this show.

We had a blast, danced most of the time in front of the stage. Loved the new Hanger at the O.C. Fair, great new place for a concert.

    Wild Child was Amazing

by Sabrinsta on 1/24/10Whisky - Hollywood

I really dug that they were the only band playing that night at the whiskey. The longer the show went on, the more he embodied Jim. His voice seemed to transform to hit the pitches and the right guttural notes at the appropriate time. The mild effects, like dancing in the strobe lights enhanced the music and the ambiance. It was effen amazing.

Wild Child: Best Doors Tribute band.

by DoorsFan on 9/21/09Canes - San Diego

September 18th, 2009 marked my sixth viewing of the Doors cover band "Wild Child" at a place called Canes in Mission Beach, San Diego. The venue is right on the sand and you can catch a bite upstairs overlooking the ocean before the show starts below. Wild Child delivers an incredible likeness of a live Doors show, performing for about 90 minutes. The band has done their homework, as their show has evolved over the years since the first time a saw them in 1985. Wild Child plays with the same dynamic, precision, and dramatic power as the original Doors. Singer Dave Brock completes the illusion, making you think that you have stepped back in time to the year 1968. Everytime I see Wild Child, they perform a song or two that I have not yet heard them play. Wild Childs audience spans generations, which includes people who have seen the actual Doors band in the sixties who appear positively mesmerized by the performance. I can't wait to see them again!

I went with my wife and few of our friends and had a really good time. First of all, I really like the venue (house of blues at downtown disney) and Wild Child did such a great job performing all of the hit songs of the Doors.

    Wild Child!!

by heidishowgirl on 9/13/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

I go to a lot of shows. They were very good. Lead singer was much like the late Jim Morrison, very good singer! However, the House of Blues in Anaheim REALLY needs to fix a couple of things. They have ONE restroom UPSTAIRS!! My friend had a sore leg and must of had to climb those stairs several times that night! Then back down to get back to our spots! The men's room door was wide open so people could see men going, and my date looked down the hall to see me washing and adjusting my dress in the mirror. AWKWARD! Keep the bathrooms closed! With that many stairs, have a restroom on each floor!
