WILD CHILD IN CONCERT:
Fans looking for a note-perfect recreation of the Doors' legendary '60s concerts need look no further than Wild Child. Dave Brock has been channeling the legendary charisma of late frontman Jim Morrison for nearly three decades and he's got the routine down pat, taking the stage with a talented band of players to deliver sets so uncannily faithful they satisfy even the most rigorous Doors purists. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Wild Child formed as a Doors' tribute band in mid-'80s Los Angeles, playing their first show at the Whiskey a Go-Go in 1986. Jim Morrison's untimely death in 1971 had created a void among fans hoping to see songs like "Touch Me" and "Hello, I Love You" performed live, and Wild Child filled it perfectly, selling out shows first in LA and then around the country. Since then, their painstakingly crafted tribute show has become legendary in its own right, spawning a live album and paving the way for continued touring nearly three decades since their formation.

by 405South on 8/6/10OC Fair & Event Center - Costa MesaThis band continues to put on the most amazing Doors concerts, with great sound, playing and most of all David Brock's presence and voice. I took my son and his girlfriend, who at 18 has been a doors fan for many years now. She loved it, and plans on seeing them again. The crowd was invited to come up to the stage, so the show had the energy a concert like this should have. If you even remotely like The Doors music, you should check out Wild Child. If you're a big Doors fan, you probably already have.

I was a bit upset about the crowd that was able to come from the back and fill in the pit area and the aisles, but that is what Jim Morrison would do. If you like the doors you should see the show!

The Hanger doors remain open during the show, last row is 10 feet from where you can stand FREE, its only 7.00 or so but its the point! Sound in the Hanger is good echo chamber of sort. If you have bad seats don't worry you can stand in the mosh pit as soon as the band starts playing so get up and run to the stage for the best position. Then look for the open seats and move up if you want to sit.

by angelsnax06 on 7/19/10OC Fair & Event Center - Costa MesaWild Child, once again gave a performance of a lifetime. No matter where or when they play, they always step up and deliver. The venue however, is questionable. The Hangar at the OC Fairgrounds would never be my first choice to go see a show. The security at first wouldn't let anyone stand in front of the stage. They kept people off to the sides until the 4th song, then finally let people stand up in front. Lame! One main reason to go to concerts is to stand, dance and have fun. Not be confied to your plastic folding chair.

The lead singer didn't sound like Jim Morrison when he talked...but he sure sounded like him when he sang!!
