WHITEY MORGAN IN CONCERT:
Honky tonk hero Whitey Morgan has been giving fans a boot-stomping good time for the past decade, but 2015 proved a watershed year for Morgan when he and his band The 78's made their first appearance on the Billboard charts. The album the landed them there, Sonic Ranch, cracked the Top 10 on the Heatseekers chart, earning heaps of critical acclaim and putting the band on the national radar . Since then Morgan has been in peak form, performing barroom brawlers like "I Ain't Drunk" and "Another Round" with his signature devil-may-care attitude while his band kicks out bluesy piano riffs, walking basslines, and rip-roaring drums. Morgan's gruff yet soulful voice and world-wise lyrics are the real deal, and fans looking for an authentic honky tonk experience won't want to miss him as he burns it down live.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Flint, MI-based Whitey Morgan began performing in the mid-'00s with his band the Waycross Georgia Farmboys. After establishing themselves in the Midwest honky tonk scene with a self-released EP and tireless touring, the group signed with Detroit's Small Stone Records and dropped their debut album Honky Tonks and Cheap Motels. They continued to build their following in 2009 on tour with The Deadstring Brothers, and in 2010 they made their debut as Whitey Morgan and the 78’s with a self-titled album released on Bloodshot Records. Since then the band has performed on NPR, nabbed a 2014 Ameripolitan Music Award for Outlaw Country Band of the Year, and released their 2015 album Sonic Ranch to Top 40 spots on both Billboard's Top Country Albums and Independent Albums charts.
Whitey was his usual awesome self. The opening act was really good too. The problem was all the drunk hillbillies staggering into people and fighting. Otherwise a great time.
don’t get out to many concerts these days, and my 15 yo son and I had recently fell in love with Whitey’s music….so we saw he was coming to Cincinnati and we got some tickets and made it happen. It was great! Whitey and the band put on a fantastic show and the venue was great as well. I hadn’t been to Bogarts in almost 25 years since going to college at the University of Cincinnati, so I didn’t know what to expect. The whole experience was great, and we are very appreciative that Whitey puts himself and his music out there for all of us to enjoy. Love ya man!
3rd time seeing Whitey and the 78's and each and every time they have not disappointed. One of a handful of bands I'll always make an effort to see when they come anywhere close. And this is a band that is meant to be seen live, the recorded albums do not do them justice. Hadn't been to Bogarts in years but had forgotten how well its set up for a show.
Tho it was really nice for the people that were there, I couldn’t help but be embarrassed for Spokane. A Friday night show and barely half capacity??? WOW! They put on a show suitable for a sold out crowd. Hopefully they’ll come back, but I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t.
Venue does not have good sound. Lighting was terrible. Whitey was good. Disappointing that crowd wasn’t bigger. Venue wouldn’t let you take drinks onto floor including water from the bar. Upstairs balcony was not open.
I always have a great time at this venue. Sound is great. Bar is really accessible. The location is really convenient; close to hotels, restaurants and bars.
Great venue, good beer, short uber ride from the hotel. Whitey Morgan always puts on a great show!

Whitey Morgan put on a great show. The opening act sucked and I’ll never go back to House of Blues again. That was the biggest ripoff I’ve ever been to. 13 dollars for a tall boy Bud Light that you can buy at any gas station for 1.99, and 100 dollars for a table is ridiculous. I’ll go see Whitey Morgan again, but not if he’s at the House of Blues..
Whitey and Red put on a great show. The energy was great. Both bands are very talented. We had so much fun!!!
Wasn't familiar with the opener, Red Shahan. But purchased both albums online the next day!
Puts on a hell of a show loved it. Will go see him again.

I've seen Whitey 4 times . It's always a great show. Red Shahan was awesome as well. Was fortunate enough to make it to NYC and KC Shows. Thinking about how I can make it to another city

For the venue I bought general admission tickets for me and my friend. However he contacted Stage AE to obtain Ada seats on account of his knee. We were told to stand in line in the VIP doors, only to discover it makes no difference because those doors open at the same time as general admission...Stage is a cool venue but their logic can be questionable
It was an awsome show. He put a hell of a show in.His opening act who we had never jeard before was good to.
This is the second time i see Whitey Morgan at the paradise he puts on a hell of a show, great talent, great music, i met him at the meet and greet cool dude can't wait to see him again hopefully in NH but if not i have no problem driving to Boston to see him
