WHITESNAKE IN CONCERT:

Legendary hard rock outfit Whitesnake has been inspiring serious headbanging for three decades, and they’re still electrifying audiences in 2015 with a refreshed and reloaded lineup for the Purple Tour. Ticket buyers can expect a thrilling experience when legendary frontman David Coverdale holds out the microphone for them to join in on mega hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Guitarists Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach back him up with plenty of fire power as they unleash insanely fast licks and pummeling power chords. Meanwhile, drummer Tommy Aldridge and bassist Michael Devin tie it all together with their smooth yet intricate grooves. Fans of classic hard rock showmanship won't want to miss Whitesnake as they continue to let it all hang out on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Whitesnake was formed in Middlesbrough, England in 1978 by David Cloverdale, a British rocker who had previously fronted pioneering hard rock outfit Deep Purple. The band maintained solid record sales in their native England throughout the early ‘80s with hits like “Fool for Your Loving”, but label executive David Geffen suggested they might attract an American audience with a more commercially accessible sound. Whitesnake responded with their self-titled 1987 album, which contained the hits “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Both songs received heavy rotation on radio and MTV, eventually pushing album sales to 8 million copies. Though the band remained successful for the remainder of the decade, Coverdale announced an indefinite hiatus for Whitesnake in 1991. After some one-off shows and brief tours in the ‘90s, the band officially reformed in 2002 and went on to release the albums Good to Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011). Coverdale and Whitesnake returned in 2015 with The Purple Album, which treated fans to a retrospective of his illustrious career with covers of some of his best songs from his Deep Purple days.

    Whitesnake Hard Rock Biloxi

by RockNRollSteve on 5/22/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

Excellent show. Definitely a lot of talent on the stage. David Coverdale's voice was as expected - great. His band was great. My only criticism is that they did no Deep Purple songs. I would have loved to hear "Burn". Go see them if you have the chance.

    WhiteSnake still has it!!

by sully1966 on 5/22/11Hard Rock Live - Biloxi

What can be said about a band that has been around for 4 decades?? With so many great songs to choose from, it hard to please everybody, even me...that's why i gave them 4 stars instead of 5!! I love their new album but, they didn't play "slide it in" or "slow and easy"!! C'mon Dave...that's like KISS not playing "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock n' Roll all nite". Anyway, still a great show!!

    Whitesnake still biting!

by BelaDrake on 5/21/11Hard Rock - Biloxi

Whitesnake always put on great show! Coverdale may has lost some of his deep bluesy voice but he can still hit the high notes. The band is incredible he has put together. Doug Alridge is one of the best guitarist out there! The show mixed new songs and classics and they played them all to perfection. Coverdale still has the fire and passion as he prances the stage! This is one of the best bands still rocking the way rock was meant to be made!

    Whitesnake rocked

by concertfanpete on 5/18/11Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

this was my 4th or 5th time seeing Whitesnake including them opening up for Priest`s British Steel tour.Surprised to hear them open up with Best Years from the Good To Be Bad release. They also played a few tracks from their latest release Forevermore. The newer material fits in very well with the older stuff.Nice to hear them not just play all the old hits. Can`t beat the duo of Reb and Doug on guitar and Davids` voice sounded pretty good considering his past vocal troubles.Very good show.

    Band sounded great

by Moosewolf1 on 5/17/11Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

I've seen Whitesnake 4 times since 1987 and this was the best that they have sounded yet. Great guitar solos and one hell of an excellent drum solo. I feel that Whitesnake should have played longer since there was no opening act but I guess I have to take into consideration that David Coverdale is 60 years old. Still Dave put on a great show. Band was even better. I would recommended this show to any guitar, drummer or bass player to see.

    Whitesnake

by Cycles1 on 5/17/11Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Everytime I see Whitesnake it's a great event. Dave Coverdale has a way to bring together some great musicians, this current lineup my not be a favorate, but still worth seeing. Seeing an old school metal band takes me back to when metal ruled. I, also being in a metal band remember the 80's excess and great times, stadiums filled with cheering young fans, flickering lighters, and women everywere. These days were all a bit older venues are quite a bit smaller, but in my heart I'm still that 20 something metal fan that will always remember those days. In my heart, metal will never grow old.

It was awesome. My husband has a band and we made it a band tripand my birthday present all the way from Richmond,Va. The venue was very nice. The best thing was it was small and only held 1500 people that ment you could get really close which we did. I stood up front and even got sung to we David Coverdale would walk over to where we were standing. It's hard to believe that he can still belt out those vocals like that and still look good doing so. I would reccommend Penns Peak to anyone.

Back to the 80s with Whitesnake and Ratt

by jbjgal on 7/19/09Black River Coliseum - Poplar Bluff

The concert was great! I felt back in the 80s! The band members are older, but they still have what it takes to rock the house! Stephen Pearcy (lead singer for Ratt) hung out at the back of the venue after the concert, and I got my picture with him. He was so gracious! My date also caught the drumstick of Ratt's drummer, Bobbie Blotzer, and gave it to me. I had a great time!
