  • A Fantastic Tradition!

by LB on 12/11/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This show is so great every year! The Alabama Theatre is decked out in the most beautiful and elegant Christmas decore of a bygone era, and it sets the scene for a time of joy. The local high school’s wonderful rockettes start the night off, the bedazzled organist leads the crowd in a chorus of Christmas cheer, and the familiar movie never disappoints. We the crowd come back again year after year to laugh at the same corny jokes, to awe over the same splendid dances, and to sing out the last rendition of White Christmas together. It’s more than worth your time, if you can get tickets for you and a favorite person to share it with

First time to see White Christmas. So many fun, happy moments in movie. Colors were brilliant and just beautiful. Costumes were perfection. Such a wonderful Christmas classic. I can’t believe I’ve never watched it. It will be a yearly tradition now.

  • Problems with the sound

by Sue on 12/26/22Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the atmosphere—such a fun Christmas experience! Loved the organ singalong! Going to the Alabama is always special. BUT we had trouble understanding the dialog. Maybe there were audio issues. The next day we watched the movie on TV and the sound was much clearer. I’d love to see this problem cleared up!

First time for a movie but as the name says Theatre. The playback/audio was horrible. Not sure how it was reproduced but half the dialogue was not understandable. But the crowd seem to enjoy it nonetheless I for one will think twice before attending another movie.

  • Lovely, Fun, & Entertaining

by Caroline on 12/15/21Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

The White Christmas Sing-Along at The Alabama Theatre proved to be a wonderful event for my friend who had never seen the film before and for me, who had seen it many times. The venue is gorgeous and well maintained. The concessions are reasonably priced. Gary, who played Big Bertha the organ and welcomed the audience, made us laugh and feel at home. White Christmas is the kind of film I’d pay to see every year in this special format!

  • White Christmas Sing-Along

    by DG6668 on 12/15/21Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time that my family and I have gone to the Alabama Theatre for any of the Christmas movies. We all (including my 95-year-old grandmother) thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the movie! It was a wonderful time and was a great way to get in the holiday spirit. The Christmas music played on Big Bertha before the movie started, as well as the crowd participation in singing Christmas carols beforehand, was also a lot of fun. It was just a really good time, and we'll most likely be back next year! So glad the theatre was able to open back up this year and play a part in so many family's yearly traditions.
