About

Wet Leg - the Isle of Wight five-piece founded by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers - have announced their eagerly anticipated second album moisturizer will be released on July 11th on Domino.

Alongside the album announcement, the band also share the first taste of moisturizer with its frenetic, alluringly combative lead single "catch these fists." Kicking things off with an untameable, electrified groove from its opening seconds, "catch these fists" is dance-punk par excellence - bass notes ricocheting off a wall of howling synth, thunderous beats catching strays from Teasdale's cruel deadpan.

The video, directed by the band and shot on the Isle of Wight, nods to Ti West, Cameron Crowe and their own "Wet Dream" video and is a suitably off-kilter introduction to moisturizer valley. The band will return to The Tonight Showstage at 30 Rockefeller Center on Wednesday, to give the song its international television debut.

Touring with Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synth), Wet Leg developed into a taut, caustic live operation that made good on their debut's success: #1 chart placements at home and abroad, three GRAMMYs, two BRIT Awards and over half a billion streams. If success presents a fork in the road for any new band - to "go pop" or keep following your muse - Wet Leg emphatically chose the latter path - including working with Dan Carey again as their producer. In March 2024, the band decamped to the remote seaside town of Southwold in Norfolk, England, to write; living together, working all day, watching horror movies all night, they soon locked into a new sense of symbiosis. Subsequently, all five members of Wet Leg have writing credits on moisturizer - "We were just kind of having fun and exploring," says Hester Chambers. "We focused on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together" adds Rhian Teasdale.

As happens a couple of times on moisturizer, the major animus behind "catch these fists" was an interaction with a belligerent man, as chronicled in the song's final verse. This is not to say shitty men are the sole focus of moisturizer -- no matter how much album track "mangetout", with its withering chorus of "get lost forever" may feel like the Nicole Kidman divorce photo in song form. On the contrary, this is largely an album about being, as the band exclaim on "pond song", so "DEEP! IN! LOVE!!!!" moisturizer contains love songs of every stripe: stressed-out, gooey-eyed, gratuitously horny, blissed out, obsessive and mysterious.

Although Teasdale previously felt allergic to writing love songs, moisturizer is defined by its sheer exuberance and Teasdale ended up finding the process empowering. That new sense of ownership extends to moisturizer's album art, an instant-classic freak-fest in which Chambers and Teasdale bare long, ghoulish claws; Teasdale, sporting long, kitschy socks and sans eyebrows, grins fiendishly into the camera. It reflects the album, moisturizer is the band turning the dial up and delivering a record that is unapologetically bolder, stronger and raunchier.

  • Wet Leg - An Out of the Blue Rock Phenom

by Ronny C on 10/6/25Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Live Rock & Roll performances are enhanced when musicians are beautiful people: Mick Jagger, Stevie Nicks, Dave Grohl, Taylor Momsen (The Pretty Reckless), Jim Morrison, Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles) , Chris Cornell, Gwen Stefani (No Doubt). Sex appeal is to rock what whipped cream is to a Sundae. It’s good on its own, but irresistible when that extra sugar hits. I first discovered Wet Leg when they dropped their self-titled debut three years ago, landing at number seven on my #TopTenRockAlbums2022 list. Back then, I called them a modern parallel to Nirvana: an out-of-nowhere act that reshaped the rock landscape with a single, game-changing album. But musical preferences have changed since the 1990s. Pop music moves the culture needle more than Rock & Roll in spite of rock’s heavy gravitational tendencies. But after rocking out at my first Wet Leg live concert, my 2022 thesis abides. Wet Leg is a generational act that bends the boundary between Pop Culture and Rock & Roll. It’s only a matter of time until your six grade daughter drapes Wet Leg prophetic pronouncements on her bedroom walls and puts the band’s name up in lights. Why? Because of the Pareto sweet spot of sex appeal and damn good Rock & Roll. Wet Leg takes the torch and runs with it. Raw to some. Savvy to others. But at the end of the rigorous race, it’s simply a gold medal performance that warrants the attention of Rock & Roll loyalists and Pop Culture dependents. Front woman Rhian Teasdale is Gen Z’s Gwen Stefani. Carved out of marble and chiseled with forged steel, the woman’s style and stage presence is both alluring and addicting. But if beautiful rock & roll icons don’t grow your beard out, then the band’s musical chops and melodious canticles will reward your senses. #WetLeg #RockAndRoll #RNRNFP #ArizonaFinancialTheatre

Flew in from Colorado for the show, new venue for me! Everything was great! Wet Leg is such an awesome newer band! Enjoyed the trip and show!

  • Fantastic show...WALL OF SOUND

by Honus on 10/6/25Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Sometimes what you get in concert is better than what you get from the studio recordings. That was the case with Wet Leg's show. Amazing music, recorded, but an absolute WALL OF SOUND live. So glad we didn't miss it. Also really like the Arizona Financial Theater as a venue - acoustics work well, very close to huge parking garage literally 100 yards away on Adams, really like that the tickets came with parking. Stress-free to get there, parked, and into the show, stress-free to get out and go home.

  • Minus the copious strobes great show!

by Banan on 10/5/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

This was my third time seeing Wet Leg, but my least favorite of the three. Unfortunately, the incessant strobe lights was not a pleasant experience. I understand busting out strobes for a song or two, but this was EVERY song, and every beat. I had to cover my eyes at times. Plus, there was little interaction with the band. I dunno if they were too spread out on stage or what, but I missed that. They SOUNDED amazing! Wish I could’ve enjoyed watching too.

  • Excellent band, excellent music, WORST LIGHTS EVER

by CFM on 10/4/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

I absolutely adore Wet Leg's music, and have been looking forward to seeing them live since the first album dropped. They did an excellent job performing their hits with high energy, great audience engagement and using the whole stage to dance. However, when I watch music live, I very much like to see the singers and the musicians. I like to see their faces, and their fingers playing the guitars, etc. The lights were absolutely abysmal. The stage was usually very dark, or, when bright, the musicians were back lit so they were only silhouettes. Alternately, the lights were then IN MY FACE so I was completely blinded and couldn't see anything. I get it that some artists like strobe lights, but this was so over the top. It was heavy, extremely bright strobe lights facing the audience instead of the singers. It was so intense that I had my eyes closed for many of the fastest songs (when strobes were most used) because I was in danger of getting a migraine. Please stop torturing your audience with crowd-facing strobes! I want to see the musicians, not go blind and get a migraine!

  • I might be getting old

by Bill on 10/4/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

We had good seats in the loge section. We both thought it was too loud, as the vocals were hard to decipher. Then there was the bright (blinding) flood lights that the band kept flashing on during intense moments in their songs. Oh well, their music is generally fun.

  • LOUD. Earsplittingly loud.

    by Rascilon25 on 10/4/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed the show but I was a little surprised that the show was extremely loud. It was by far the loudest show I have seen in the past 16 concerts I have attended. You may get the wrong impression, as I did, from music videos or other live performances you see online that they are a somewhat subdued alt-rock indie band. Their live performance however is more what you might expect from a Poppy set or BABYMETAL. It was so loud you couldn't make out the lyrics or the singer's words between songs. I don't regret going, but I definitely recommend you bring ear protection because my ears are still ringing days after the show. Did I mention they were LOUD?

  • Worst show ever due to lighting

by Xtinaznap on 10/4/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 1 out of 5

I literally could not watch this concert because of the excessive strobe lights intermixed with ridiculously bright light strips at back of stage which made it impossible to see the band members other than a silhouette, plus tons of fog and dim lighting when the lights were not strobing or flashing. Rhian's vocals were muffled, sound overall was just ok. I love this band and their music but the show was a huge disappointment and I wish I had not spent that much $$ for such an awful experience.

  • Wet Leg Delivered

    by Vernon G on 10/4/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Wet Leg i believe is the next big thing in music. They rocked the Fox theater and involved the crowd like a great band should. Thank you Wet Leg

  • Great band, horrible stage lighting

by DS on 10/3/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Great band, solid set. After the second song, the non-stop strobe lights started to feel like the lighting guy had a vendetta against the audience. I’m not particularly sensitive but it was so bright and so much flashing that it was difficult to watch the stage even with sunglasses. That style may work well at an outdoor festival but in a small theater it felt like I was having a stroke.

  • I should have stayed home and saved $100

by WuttaGal on 10/3/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

I love their music, but the show at the Oakland Fox was a bit boring and the light show, overwhelming. I would have liked to see the band members more than the bright white lights. I'll continue to listen to their music at home and watch their videos.

  • Great sound and venue

by LegWet on 10/3/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

First time seeing the band and they didn’t disappoint. They sounded great, played 20 of their 24 total songs. Good stage presence by the lead singer and most the others in the band were happy to play hard and stay out of the limelight. Only two downsides, first the strobe lighting was total overkill and many times I had to close my eyes to get a break. Second , because their songs are short and they have very little banter with the crowd the total show was just a bit over one hour which feels on shortish side.

  • Experience Fun, Sound Mixing Bad

by The Impish Concerto on 10/3/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Hello, we attended this event and it was my family members first concert since COVID. They didnt have anything to complain about, but I've been to at least a dozen since 2021 and I had a few thoughts: There was a lot of instances of feedback issues. You could hardly hear the lyrics to Pillow Talk because her mic became quiet and the emphasis suddenly was the guitars. In fact I heard the left guitar more than anything else for the concert. It felt like the mixing and the ratios were totally off. No opportunity for an encore, and the whole new album was not played- WHERE WAS POKEMON? I'm not sure if it was the venue sound issues or assistance that was failing or their crew. Overall it was mushy vocals at times (she is actually so amazing when its not mushy), and I do think it was worth seeing I just really wanted to feel the lyrics with an even layer of the instruments. The lighting was cool and they all were very active on stage. Looking forward to their next performance and I hope their sound mixing will be better.

  • Wet leg was great, but the lighting was not

by Mel on 10/3/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Wet leg gave us a great show, and the Fox Theatre was intimate and lovely. However, there were bright white lights flashing from the stage into the crowd so much that both my friend and I and other others around us had to close our eyes for some of the show. It was unfortunate and I hope some feedback will help them change their lighting because it was too much and it hurt my eyes.

  • Wet Leg - 9/17/25 Summerstage

by DN on 9/23/25Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been waiting to watch this band perform live for awhile and I'm glad I had the opportunity. A couple of minor notes such as the mic should've turned up higher for the lead singer. In addition, there should be a special effects warning to alert the fans that strobe lights were being used as some people may be sensitive to that.

  • Incredible Band

by Abby on 9/23/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Wet Leg twice as of writing this, and they have been absolutely incredible both times. They have such a great energy on stage, and you can really see how much enjoyment they share with the crowd when singing. Wet Leg puts on incredible concerts. Maybe a bit of a heads up for people with light sensitivity or epilepsy, as there was very frequent flashing, bright white lights. I definitely want to see them perform live many more times!

  • Good times at the 9:30 Club

by damian on 9/22/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan of WetLeg since I heard their first Tiny Desk Concert on NPR back in 2021 and have been looking for an opportunity to see them live for the past four years. When they released the 2025 Moisturizer tour dates, Cleveland was not on the list, and neither was Detroit, Columbus, or Pittsburgh. So, I had some business in DC and arranged to visit the nation’s capital the day Wet Leg was playing the 9:30 Club and I had a most fantastic time. Doors opened at 8pm, and we arrived around 7:30pm; the line was already wrapping around the corner, about 250 people deep. I didn’t think we’d get close to the stage, but to my surprise, many fans raced upstairs to the mezzanine or got in line for merch upon entering the club, leaving the crowd at the stage only two people deep, so I secured my spot. The opening act (Mary of the Graveyard?) was very good, especially when the guitar player played the bass and the bass player played the violin. The song “Muscles on your back” (?) was my favorite of the set, along with the moment when the singer said, “It’s 9:30” at 9:30pm with her British accent. WetLeg took to the hazy, smoke filled stage at 10:15pm to “Catch These Fists” and played a tight, confident, fun, intense, 70-minute set, playing all the hits (“mangetout”, “Chaise Longue”, “Angelica”, etc) plus a good selection from their first two LPs to the sold-out crowd. And I want to say a word about that crowd, because I think it speaks to the quality of the band. There was not one predominant “type” of fan at the WetLeg show as you see at a lot of shows, but a most diverse audience in age, style, background, ethnicity, and lifestyle. And I know this to be true because I talked with a lot of people that night and the crowd was one of the friendliest of which I’ve ever been a part. It seems to me that the common denominator within the crowd that night was that everyone there knew they were seeing a very special band and were happy to share their love for music at one of the most iconic clubs in the country, and I was so happy to be a part of it. If you’re thinking of whether or not to pick up a ticket to a WetLeg show, I’m here to tell you that you won’t regret the investment. They are the real deal. Pax et bonum!

  • Awesome Show

Wet Leg put on an amazing show. They played 19 of their songs covering both albums.

  • Fun but flawed

by Eve on 9/22/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Went to see Wet Leg and thankfully checked the 9:30 Club’s website before leaving since they did not go on until 10:30 pm. Sold out show so of course it was packed. The sound was really off. There were songs that we could hardly hear the vocalist and she has a really interesting and affecting voice so that was a disappointment. Fun show but hope to see them at a different venue next time.
