About

Westside Boogie on Tour

Compton rapper Westside Boogie is one of those rare emcees who's openly vulnerable, publicly exploring the complexity of being a Black man in America today. He originally began performing under the name Boogie in 2014, when he released his debut mixtape Thirst 48. His viral hit single, "Oh My," came soon afterwards and he's been winning over fans and critics ever since.

His unique, confessional storytelling style attracted the attention of veteran rapper Eminem, who signed him to his label Shady Records. The label put out his debut full-length album, Everything's for Sale, in 2019. Slim Shady himself rapped on Westside Boogie's hit single "Rainy Days," which has been streamed more than 34 million times on YouTube.

Changing his stage name from Boogie to Westside Boogie in 2020, the rapper released several singles including "Outside," a collaboration with Joe Bada$$. His second full-length album for Shady Records, More Black Superheroes, came out in 2022, featuring an impressive array of guest artists, including Soulja Boy, Snoop Dogg and Shelley FKA DRAM.

Make sure you catch Westside Boogie's dynamic live headlining shows supporting More Black Superheroes in a town near you.

Westside Boogie Live in Concert

Born Anthony Tremaine Dixson in 1989 in Compton, California, the rapper adopted the stage name Westside Boogie in 2020 to reflect his Compton roots. Raised in Long Beach listening to gospel music, his earliest foray into music came at a very young age when he sang in his church choir.

As a young adult, the birth of his son in 2009 gave the rapper new focus and direction, and he decided to enroll in recording courses at Long Beach City College, reportedly using his financial aid money to buy recording equipment. For almost the next decade he made waves in the underground hip-hop scene, eventually attracting the attention of Shady Records who signed him to a deal to issue his debut full-length album.

By the time he released his 2022 sophomore album, More Black Superheroes, Westside Boogie had made a name for himself as a soul-bearing, introspective rapper, building a career on the power of storytelling through music. Pitchfork praised the record, calling it "a musical therapy session, a concept album filled with intimate writing and rich, varied production." It's clear that this only scratches the surface of the rising star's many talents.

    Good experience

by Camarah Brown on 10/1/22The Bronze Peacock at House of Blues Houston - Houston

The only think I would chance, I was VIP and had to wait for a worker to arrive to actually get a drink. If you have VIP members, the bar should already be open.
