    Iyanla was amazing!

by Good43 on 4/15/15Convention Center Cleveland - Cleveland

Overall, the entire event was nice and a meaningful way for women (specifically women of color or African American women) to connect and enjoy each other's presence. Having the event on Sunday was perfect! I enjoyed the variety of topics and activities that occurred while waiting for the main speakers Wendy Williams and Iyanla Vanzant. However, at times, you could tell the host(s) from WZAK were trying their best to pass the time while the audience waited for the speakers and the process felt a little drawn out. For me, Iyanla was absolutely amazing and worth every penny! She could have been the only key speaker for the event and it would have been well worth it! I left speechless after listening to her! What a gift for all of us! Please bring her back! Lastly, it would have been nice to set time aside for audience members to meet and greet/have books signed by Iyanla (and Wendy for those who are fans of hers). I would recommend more active security and more monitoring of the audience as there were several people running up to the stage trying to talk to, touch, give gifts and get books signed by Iyanla and Wendy during the show. This disrupted the flow of the presentations .

    powerful

I really enjoyed both keynote speakers. However there are a few things that will keep me and my friends from attending next year: 1. the event running from 11:00am - 6:00pm with keynot speakers coming on at 3pm and 5pm . The majority of us came just for the keynote speakers. 2. please consider having more vendors, the "bronnors" were about the most intriguing, all others failed to inform and keep our attention. 3.Please consider not holding us hostage from 11am-6pm with your signs that state"if you leave no reentry." force us to stand in a line that has a twenty minute wait; for a cold $6 sandwich.

    VIP event- not!

by lovejoy82 on 4/15/15Convention Center Cleveland - Cleveland

We get there early around 1230pm. We pay $7 to park to park regular, no Valet, fine. I was told this was a ViP event. We go inside and some women greet us and state how hunch we will hate the event. So we get inside only to find out there is no re-entry.... Once inside you can't go back out and come back in. Ridiculous that's why a hand stamp was created cmon! Then we see there are only 6 vendors. There are some classes but il you will miss one trying to see another. They should have been right after each other. We look for some kind of refreshments and there was only tap water. How Much more VIP can this get?! So now we are starving because we can't leave out to get us food and no one can bring it for us because we have no reentry. Now we are seeing what the women who passed us were talking about. You have senior citizens there and children and you mean to tell me you have no refreshments?! People have low blood sugar and need to eat something. To top it off we were told Wendy Williams' flight was delayed so there will be no meet and greet with her.... What?! We had to wait 3 hrs to see her only for her to talk for 30 min. Then all she did was be dramatic and fan herself the whole time as if it was that hot. It was freezing in the bldg, cmon. We had to wait 2 hours after that to see Iyanla Vanzant. So during intermission, food magically appeared. Let's just say a half of sub sandwich was $8. Small bag of chips $2... A candy bar was $3...bottled water was $3. I asked for a courtesy cup of water and was denied. Iyanla finally comes and same thing happens she only spoke for 30 min but we were able to meet her ... Which was only for a hot 5 sec because she had to catch her flight. We took a group photo. We wanted individuals - it's was only 10 of us. So to say the least it was bad.

The whole event was great except for the food......there was no food to purchase and you were not allowed to leave to get any food. Next event please pack your own meal.
