    Laguna Seca

by Boxboss on 7/11/16Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

There are only two grandstands, seating assignments are not really used. Most people just wander around the open track area and find a place to sit or stand to watch the races. There are some great places to watch that way. The only advantage to the grandstands are the jumbotron screens in front of them.

    Rolex Monterey Motorsports Renunion

by NHRABuff on 8/20/15Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

If you are a racing car buff and like seeing some old and up late 70's race cars then any race fan can enjoy this event. The passion these men and women show for their cars and racing cars worth mega bucks side by side on the track is quite the sight. My first time seeing this and being at the track. Would go again. Many displays of some new cars from the manufacturers and huge pits too roam around it and talk to the drivers and owners.

always a great time in Carmel

by Dork1066 on 8/19/15Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

the Rolex Historic Reunion, as always, was great. The people staffing the entrance as well as those working the course and shops make the day enjoyable as well. Watching the historic cars bring 95 years of racing alive.

I went up to this event to support one of the race teams. I didn't know much about the race beforehand, or the venue. If you pick up your tickets from Will-Call, it is off site. I didn't understand why at first, but it is because you need to have your tickets scanned to enter the parking lot. The Will-Call location is not too far from the track, so if you decide to use Will-Call, I would factor in an extra 15-20 minutes. It was really easy to pick up the tickets, and they also suggested a better way to get to the entrance of the raceway, instead of using GPS (which I was told would send me to the wrong location). The track is amazing! There are multiple places to view the race. I was recommended to watch the race from the corkscrew area, which sits atop a large hill. What a great view point! This is where the cars are picking up a lot of speed as they go down a winding hill. It was awesome. You can see almost all of the track as you head up the hill. It was such a neat view. This is definitely an event I would head to again, and recommend to anyone who needs a little speed in his/her life!

General admission allowed you access to almost the entire track. Great viewing vantage points, especially at the "corkscrew". Fun day of great racing!

    SO. MUCH. FUN.

by Antoinebugleboy on 7/24/13Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

You just cannot get an appreciation for how fast and how loud these bikes are by watching races on TV. You have to be there and see and hear and FEEL the bikes as they roar past you at blinding speeds. You'll gain an appreciation that will last, as you have a base experience to draw upon when you watch races in the future.

ALMS and Mazda Raceway kick ass

by Anonymous on 5/13/13Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

Very enjoyable race. ALMS is awesome in that the paddocks are all very open to spectators, prior to the race you can talk to the crews, the drivers, etc. Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca) is a fantastic track. Lots of places to stand that weren't overcrowded with great, upclose views.

Great Cars, Not So Great Will Call

by 88me88 on 8/20/12Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

This event is a lot of fun because the vintage race cars are actually driven around an absolutely beautiful track. Not really a serious race; who wants to wreck a one-of-a-kind? The paddock is wide open and the owners are friendly and approachable, very proud of their race cars and make an effort to give you histories of who drove them when and in what events. Some of the early models ran in the Indianapolis 500 in the teens for prize money of a few hundred dollars. However, the will call experience was bad. There was nothing on Ticketmaster that said will call would not be at the racetrack and we ended up driving into Seaside to a hotel to pick up our tickets, which on that busy car weekend in Monterey is a trick. Not great to be turned away at the entrance and told to drive another 20 miles to get the tickets and come back again. The event's worth it though.

    MotoGP Laguna Seca

by Colonblow on 8/1/12Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

An awesome time!! The bikes were fast and loud. There was lots to see and do in addition to watching the race. Food and beer everywhere. Had general admission seats and sat on the hill. Could see several different turns.Only downside was parking. They dont have people controlling the cars after the race and it stopped up real bad. Sat in line stopped for an hour before we finally started moving.

    USGP

by smoke05s on 7/31/12Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

Pros amazing heroics on the track in all classes. Everyone seems to ride just a bit harder here. beautiful venue, great fans from all over the world. great factory displays. It is even fun getting there cons who's bright idea was it to take out all the drinking fountains? The anouncing was a little off this year, no commentary during downtime for motox2 for example. I wish they would bring moto 2 and moto3 to this track. Especially moto 3 the amount of passing would be incredible.

    Very organized and kid friendly

by jane1957 on 7/29/12Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Monterey - Salinas

I have been to a lot of events, some at Laguna Seca, this was the easiest and most organized event. From the ease of purchasing tickets, to the parking and the friendly vendors. Can't wait for next year.

    Laguna Seca is unforgettable!

by aleigh11 on 6/26/12Would definitely recommend going (if you haven't yet and love racing) and I'll definitely go again!!! - Lockeford

Laguna Seca is amazing! I have been going here since I was 12! I love the fact that if you have a Pit Pass you can meet many riders! It makes the experience so much more memorable! In fact, my step father has been going for 38 years, never missed ONE year! It is a lot of walking and you will need sunscreen but it is well worth it! I love how interactive the riders can be towards their fans! The track is amazing! And I believe going there every year to see the MotoGP and AMA and other bike races are what get more people interested in going! It is like each year there are more people! So, expect it to be crowded in the Pits! But it is well worth it!

If you love cars going fast and the great outdoors, the American Le Mans Series is perfect for you. Featuring prototype and GT cars that showcase different technology, ALMS is certainly a motorsports series not to be missed. In this particular case, at Laguna Seca, be prepared to carry a lot of sunscreen and water! Drivers and teams alike are more than happy to interact with fans during their off time, and the energy is absolutely amazing. There are also fan activities (auctions, autograph sessions, sponsor booths, etc.) to partake in. It was general admission seating and that includes paddock access (unlike other series like IndyCar where paddock can be an additional cost) and pretty much free roaming of all areas that spectators can safely access to view the expansive track.

Great experience, wish there were more F1 and FXX cars though. Last year's event had many more cars.
