  • We will Rock You

by Marjoram on 7/24/18California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San BernardinoRating: 5 out of 5

I was disappointed with the story line, the dialog was a bit too corny, however, the singers were amazing. Five stars to the venue and TWO starts rating to the Musical.

Enjoyed the show ... the lead looked/acted/ sounded a lot like Freddy Mercury!

  • Not quite what I expected

by Callie909 on 7/24/18California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San BernardinoRating: 3 out of 5

I honestly thought this show was going to be about how the band Queen started and feature their music. Instead it was kind of a dumb story to be quite honest. The performers were all wonderful singers though, so we did enjoy that aspect of it.

I bought tickets to the We Will Rock You show in an attempt to impress my wife. I had no idea she would love it so much and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the show myself.

Great fun musical that doesn't take itself to serious. If your a Queen fan you can't miss this one.

  • 2nd Best Musical / Show we have seen!

by DenLaib on 6/12/14Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Must see show. The 2 lead singers/ performers were Excellent as well as the score and music. Only show we have seen in this class was Jersey Boyz ( our number 1 ). Regardless, cant imagine how anyone could not love the music and theme. Go see it!

  • We Will ROCK You ROCKED!!!!!

We saw the national touring company of We Will ROCK You, a musical based on the music of Queen. We saw it at the historic 1920's Warner Theater as a matinée right after brunch across the street at Chef Geoff's which was a great plan! The actors were talented in all skills: singing (even in Freddie Mercury's range), acting and choreography. The band was not in the "pit orchestra" in front of the stage--they occupied a loft above the rear of the stage on scaffolding. Other than a couple brief moments when the radio remote microphones went out, the sound quality was a great way to experience the music of Queen and display the talent of the well-accomplished professional actors. One of the lead parts had a great "radio voice" he used for his dialog and could also sing very well--he made us laugh with his music history references to famous artists of today who were irrelevant in the future of the digital music world of Globenet--music content controlled by a commercial Orwellian dictator. All the acting was believable and the casting was excellent! I was tempted to buy the CDs they had for sale--especially since there was no photography or video allowed. The cast and band received at least 3 standing ovations and played an encore Queen hit song. There were a few "audience participation" songs and we enjoyed the "modern" humor mixed in. There were a few kids in the audience, so the language and sexual innuendo was manageable for about the 10-13+ age group who had no idea who Queen or Freddie was--a bit of an "educational" presentation with a bunch of references back to the beginning of the ROCK era with Elvis Presley on up through Brittney Spears/Madonna humor mixed in to the dialog. Overall we had a great show and would highly recommend if the same touring company comes to a city near you!

It would be difficult to come up with a show that used a lot of Queen songs...worth a good try.

  • Queen has still Got It

by Sailsail on 6/11/14Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Great music. Fab band and dynamite vocals set to a cutesy little story. Interesting use of video in set design. My too cool for everything teen didn't look at his phone for the whole show. That says it all !

  • Awesome Music

    by SMA1 on 6/11/14Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

The play was extreamly enjoyable. The music was awesome and the singers had very strong voices. The one liners continually mentioned were a great added bit of humor and being from that era made it all the more enjoyable.

  • Not London Quality but Good!

Ruby Lewis was fabulous and stole the show! Saccha Dennis wasn't a great Killer Queen (stand in). I love this show!!!

  • we will rock you was fantastic, a real rockin show

    by 123dorame on 6/11/14Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

loved everything about this show, all the Queen song that I love and some very interesting dance numbers! the acting was great I saw the show three times, in one show half way through they had to bring on an understudy for Gal, it didn't change my opinion of the show at all! the understudy had a voice that was just as awesome as the original Gal. I followed the show from New Haven to Washington DC, and I would see it again if I could afford to go to their next stop!
