About

We the Kings are a melodic emo-pop band from Bradenton, Florida, a small Southern town that doubles as the home base for Tropicana orange juice. Friends since childhood (the band's moniker even refers to the name of their junior-high mascot), the four bandmates -- singer/guitarist Travis Clark, guitarist Hunter Thomsen, his bassist brother Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan -- formed the group while attending high school. Under the guidance of manager Bret Disend, they placed a number of tracks on the social networking site Purevolume in 2007 to build online buzz. Meanwhile, they also pursued a deal with EMI's imprint S-Curve Records, which eventually signed the group.

We the Kings' self-titled debut album was produced by Sam Hollander and mixed by Lou Giordano, both of whom had done work with some of emo-pop's most marketable acts, and released in October 2007. "Check Yes Juliet" cracked the Pop 100 that fall, and the group spent much of the following two years on the road, playing shows alongside simpatico bands like The Academy Is... and Hey Monday. They also found time to record a second album, Smile Kid, which arrived in late 2009. Like the band's debut, Smile Kid spawned a Top 100 single with "We'll Be a Dream," which featured guest vocals from Demi Lovato. We the Kings continued to tour heavily, supporting All Time Low for several months before headlining their own shows at home and abroad. The shows stretched into 2011, by which point the group had already begun work on a third album. Sunshine State of Mind was released that summer. ~ Stewart Mason, Rovi

I LOVED the acoustic show!! It was a scaled down version of their songs and it was amazing. I really enjoyed how the band interacted with each other and the audience. It was such a fun night. The "Meet & Greet" was a fantastic experience. I got to talk with each band member, got my shirt signed by the band, and got genuine hugs from all of them! I will never ever forget how kind they were. They really appreciate their fans.

We The Kings... hear them, see them, love them!

by MissLilyputt on 3/18/14Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

The show was awesome. It took me over an hr to get to the venue and it was still more than worth it. Everyone was really nice there including other fans. It had handicap accessibility which was a plus. The band was perfect. They played played old songs and new songs. We the Kings treats their fans really well. I loved every song they played and everyone knew all the songs. I wish I could properly describe how cool it was to be there. They also came out after the show to say hi to fans as soon as they could. Also, I almost forgot to mention the two opening bands Crash The Party and This Century were bands that I'd never heard of before but I really liked. If you get the chance to see We The Kings live don't miss out on it. It's the best thing ever. You'll thank me later. This is my 2nd show and I'm already planning the next one!!! WTK is sooo bous!

We the Kings concert was unforgettable

by BriannaF90210 on 3/17/14Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

We the Kinds was one of the best bands seen live, the crowd was great and the venue was very nice as well. Both of the opening acts were also great and they were all outside the venue to meet and take pictures with afterwards. Also by getting there early I got to meet and take pictures with two of the members of We the Kings which was totally cool.

    We The Kings was fanaminal

by RoseBaum on 3/17/14Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

WTK had an amazing and humorous performance, fate Crash The Party and This Century pumped us all up and got us running. Flinging bras, flying picks, band moms, and sorority positions made the We The Kings' Art of Tour an amazing experience

First time going to a show at Culture Room instead of at Revolution, and while it would've been nicer (in my opinion) at Revolution, I still think it was an amazing show

    Best Concert Ever!

    by tef1990 on 9/11/13STAGE AE - Pittsburgh

This concert was amazing, and by far the best one I've ever gone to in my life. I had so much fun and even made it to the front row of the crowd. It's definitely a moment I love to relive over and over again when I'm listening to my music.

Breathe Carolina, We the Kings, The Ready Set ect.

by Tha0neChick on 9/5/13House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

They were all wonderful! I loved the live Music Video put on by We The Kings, not saying a real person in the crowd would of been nice ^-~ but all was well. I enjoyed The Ready Set and his haha bodacious turn on stage, good save! Loved how real you were on stage. Now Breathe Carolina, even though the other member was absent I still loved the performance and how they included the tech team on stage for their last song to just rave and party it out. I honestly felt like I was clubbing with the whole crew ahaha was completely rad! Mind me I was only getting started lol and the drinks could of been cheaper for a ladies night or something rad aha. Enjoyed the show over all! Would of love to have met them but busy people are busy people. ^u^ thanks for the time well spent!

I have never been to a more perfect concert. The venue was magnificent because you could see the band from anywhere with a great view. We The Kings rocked it hard and I will never forget it. I was in the verge of crying tears of pure happiness the whole night. They need to come back NOW!
