Wayne Newton in Concert

The always suave Wayne Newton is — and will always be — Mr. Las Vegas. The classic crooner and entertainer even has a road named after him at Vegas' international airport. A consummate performer, Newton has been charming audiences since he was a kid, singing alongside his older brother Jerry. Once the young siblings made their way to Vegas — where they began performing six shows a night, six nights a week — Wayne was on his way to becoming a legend. Over the next several decades, Newton would solidify his VIP status, transforming from the boyish singer of the ‘60s to the debonair Mr. Entertainer of Vegas. He came to dominate Sin City, at one point becoming its highest paid performer. In total, he's logged over 30,000 live shows and counting. The King of Vegas continues his rule, presiding over Cleopatra's Barge at Caesars Palace with his intimate show, Wayne Newton: Up Close and Personal, in which he sings his biggest hits, shares his favorite stories and invites the audience to ask him anything.

Wayne Newton Background

Wayne Newton has been a star nearly all his life. Born Carson Wayne Newton in 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia, the young singer took to music early, learning how to play piano and guitar starting at age six. As his family moved around the country, from Ohio to Arizona, Wayne and his older brother Jerry honed their stage skills at local clubs and fairs. Their show eventually caught the eye of a booking agent, who invited the brothers to perform in Vegas in 1958. There, the sibling duo impressed crowds night after night for five years. Newton also made waves on the national level, performing on The Jackie Gleason Show and acting on the western TV hit Bonanza. In his early twenties, he was landing singles on the charts, including his signature version of "Danke Schoen" and "Red Roses for a Blue Lady" (still favorites at his performances). He was prolific throughout the 1960s and 1970s, releasing multiple albums nearly every year and scoring another big hit with 1972's "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast." By the mid '70s, Newton was already shedding his baby-faced image and fast becoming Vegas' must-see event. Decades later, he still reigns as Mr. Vegas, bringing in fans — young and old — to see the living legend do what he was born to do: entertain.

    Wayne Newton's concert

by Loliss on 12/18/23Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert that he performed. The stories were fun to hear, the questions were good to hear answers to. However, I would have loved to hear more Christmas songs too. For a man of his age, he did very good!

    Fantastic

by Nick on 12/17/23Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Wayne Newton is an excellent performer. Even into his 80s. His guitar and violin playing was great. I loved the stories and his band was on point. It was an overall excellent show. The virtual duet with Sammy Davis Jr was really neat too. The Rialto Square is a great venue to see iconic performers like Wayne Newton.

We were pleasantly surprised by the content of this show. We didn’t know Wayne would be talking about his life and showing various video clips in addition to performing songs. It was a lot of fun and very interesting!

    Wayne was terrific.

by Jim S on 11/26/23Bugsy's Cabaret at Flamingo - Las Vegas

The show itself was off the charts good. Wayne's stories and instrument playing were super with video backup. Many memories of old Vegas. Only four stars since the seats were hard to sit in for 1.5 hours. Also the layout shown by Ticketmaster was very inaccurate. Were in Row B but jammed in the corner of the first row on the very end of the stage. Not a good view.

I really enjoyed seeing Wayne Newton! His show was amazing, it was a great mixture of music and history/stories from the past. It was very interesting how many people Wayne Newton has interacted with, including Elvis Presley. It is well worth seeing this show. Wayne Newton - A Vegas ICON

by Bobby D on 10/22/23Bugsy's Cabaret at Flamingo - Las Vegas

If you are in Las Vegas, do not miss seeing Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton. Wayne's show Up Close and Personal is truly a trip through time as Wayne tells his story about how he began and goes through the ups and downs of his career, and meanwhile weaving songs throughout this performance. Wayne is so personal with the audience it's like being in his living room and talking with him. Then, the audience members can meet and talk with Wayne after the show by purchasing a "Meet and Greet"ticket - this is well worth it to have a photo with such a show business ICON. When in VEGAS, be sure to see WAYNE NEWTON at the Flamingo Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip!

Wayne - Up Close & Personal is truly a special night!

by Chris - Ohio on 10/22/23Bugsy's Cabaret at Flamingo - Las Vegas

Been coming out to Vegas for twenty years. Born in the late seventies and grew up in the eighties. Vegas has always been a fascinating place to me, and the entertainment alike. It took this long but late forties is better then never. Wayne looked great, sounded great and everything was so intimate and real. He's such a great story teller! The footage to go with the stories, the question and answer format, the band, his WIFE, the entire set up is so classic and really delivered. I laughed, cried, sang along. An hour and forty five minutes! Best value and bang for the buck at the Flamingo.

    Outstanding time

by WAR on 10/17/23Bugsy's Cabaret at Flamingo - Las Vegas

We have seen Wayne twice before in large venues, but this smaller more intimate venue was outstanding. He was funny and very entertaining. His personal stories and clips of tapes were fun to hear and watch. We would definitely go see him again when we are in the area. It was money well spent.

    61 yearOld Dream Come True

by Dee Dee on 10/12/23Bugsy's Cabaret at Flamingo - Las Vegas

Couldn't go to Las Vegas without seeing the Legendary Mr. Wayne Newton at the Flamingo... ✨️let alone having his personal assistant approach my husband & I at our table to let us know that Wayne wanted to give us a complimentary Meet & Greet with him! My teen idol growing up and finally at "61"years of age, I got to meet Wayne Up Close and Personal and it was worth the wait! Thanks Wayne for making my dream come true after all these years! 🥰🫶
