Washington Wizards History
Founded in 1961, the Washington Wizards franchise has called Chicago, Baltimore, Landover, Maryland. and Washington, D.C. home. Known earlier as the Packers, Zephyrs and Bullets, the franchise changed its name to the Wizards in 1997.
After earning two playoff appearances in their first five seasons in Baltimore, the team started a formidable run of postseason success starting in the 1968–69 season. Led by Hall of Famers Earl Monroe and Wes Unseld (and later Elvin Hayes), the Bullets went to the playoffs 12 seasons in a row, including four trips to the Finals and a championship in 1978. Behind an MVP performance from Unseld, Washington defeated Seattle in a decisive Game 7 to clinch the title.
Five consecutive postseason appearances highlighted the Bullets’ 80s. The franchise bounced back in the early 2000s, built around the core of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. That trio led Washington to four straight playoff appearances from 2005–2008. Since then, the Wizards have qualified for the postseason five times behind All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal, the latter of which became one of six players in NBA history to average 30-plus points per game in back-to-back seasons.

I really enjoyed my time watching the even though we didn't secure the win. The after the show performance made the lose a little more bearable...
I truly enjoyed myself at the capital one arena. I plan on seeing more Wizards games in the season.
My son and I attended the game because he did well in school and I promised him that I would take him to see his favorite team and players (LA Lakers and LeBron James). He was so excited and we stayed until the end of the game. Great food and beverage and also customer service was on point!
Excellent customer from beginning to end. Very nice lady got me and my grandson better sitting at halftime for the Wizards vs Raptors game.
I had a great time at the game the venue was nice to see
We had 3 great seats close to the Wiz team, easy to see both teams and the action. It wasn’t a full house so easy to get food, drinks and bathrooms. Wiz didn’t put up much of an effort, so the game quickly became a OKC runaway.
I liked the place and the energy of the crowd :) I recommend it!
Good atmosphere. Could use better signage and/or directions to upper level sections.
Great seats, great views, electric atmosphere! I can’t want to go back.
I bought a "double"cocktail drink. It was basically an expensive soda.
I bought two tickets at a very good price in Row K in Section 111. Our seating Section was directly across from the Arena entrance near Clydes of Gallery Place which makes it convenient for a pre or post game dining experience.
Had a wonderful time. Food was great. Everything was clean. I loved getting in early with my Capital One card. A very exciting game as well. We will definitely be back.
Our family recently attended a Wizards game v the Hornets. We sat in the 200 level Row C. The view was amazing! The concessions were high priced, so I'd recommend sharing the popcorn and soda. The atmosphere was family friendly. Great experience!
The fellow sitting next to me might have best been nickedname Crisco. He spilled over onto my seat. Good thing the arena was not filled. It was easy to find another seat. The most exciting thing about the event was the tee shirt toss. The Wizards can't hit a Three - a problem when the Celtics are hitting 40% from beyond the arc.
I attended the Wizards game with the Memphis Grizzlies on December 8. The game was fun--the seats were good and everything went very smoothly at the Verizon Center. But it was not inexpensive -- the ticket (200 level) was $120 and the food and drink were over $25 for a pretzel and a beer and for an order of french fries and a large soda.
Tickets were far more expensive than for the hockey. Pretty decent atmosphere, overpriced beer and ridiculously priced merchandise
1. Save your e-tickets locally (e.g., in Apple Wallet) before you go because you will not have strong enough internet access once there to use the Ticketmaster app or a web browser to pull up your tickets. 2. Don’t bring an umbrella. 3. If you need to bring a bag, make sure it’s tiny. They are strict on their bag size rules.
Amazing experience. So easy to get to the Arena. Got there early for some food and to soak up the atmosphere. Loads of local people enjoying the basketball game. Friendly Staff and high scoring game! Loved it.
SEATS ARE SMALL and make coming to games harder and harder. I'm 6'3 and find the seating to be way too tight even for someone who works out and is lean. I've been coming to games solely to see visiting teams as the Wizards continue to make the worst moves and have no future. Games are just hard to get through enough with the teams play let alone the seats aren't comfortable.
Excellent staff - clean, safe venue - very organized- was excellent experience and the Wizards won
