Washington Mystics History

The Washington Mystics are a professional women's basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Since their introduction in 1998 as one of the WNBA’s first expansion franchises, the Mystics have topped the Eastern Conference twice and won the WNBA Finals in 2019. The team was led in their early seasons by multi-season rebounding champion Chamique Holdsclaw and four-time All-Star Alana Beard. The Mystics reached their first Finals in 2018 behind the play of two-time WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne. Washington returned to the Finals in 2019, winning a thrilling 3-2 series against the Connecticut Sun and delivering D.C. its first professional basketball title since 1978. Delle Donne won her second career MVP in 2019 while shooting the WNBA’s only 50-40-90 season, and teammate Natasha Cloud was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.

My first time in the arena and I show the man my ticket outside of section 203 . He just points to the section and says it’s up there. The trash was never pick up out the trash can the whole game in that section, so you know what it look like after the game. Yes trash on the floor.. The atmosphere was great though.

I really enjoyed the game being though it was my first time. The coach could have done a better job in coaching.

Everything went smoothly with getting the tickets and having them on my phone. Most difficult part was security with putting phone in basket then getting it back to page to check in.

  • Parking and arena staff

by Deb on 8/10/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

The parking is horrible. If it wasn’t my special needs son’s birthday I would’ve left and missed the game. Train your staff to be polite and greet someone when they are greeted.

  • Excellent Game Day Experience

by Kurt on 8/10/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing the Washington Mystics on Sunday, August 7th was a wonderful experience. Ticketing was easy and well priced. We anticipated a great game and that's what we got. Parking was different than in previous seasons but was clearly marked, with a shuttle just outside the parking area to take us to the game. The shuttle bus was clean and easy to get to. The driver on bus 112 was excellent. Entering the arena was super easy & the security folks were professional. Getting to our seats was easy, the ushers were friendly and our seats were great... 102, Row L. The arena experience was great... from the DJ to the in-arena host to the PA announcer. The Mystics know how to host fans and this could not have been better! After the game, the shuttle was just outside the arena and again, that was easy to navigate. Hats off to the Mystics for creating this game day experience for our family!

  • " Mystics NEED a Spark!"

by Discombobulating on 8/10/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Entry into the game was easy thru mobile tickets, the seats were good, the sound system worked perfectly and the Entertainment was top notch. Eveything was 1st class...except for the local product on the court! The Mystics seem to play to the level of the Competition...beating good teams and losing to less talented ones. " Hard Work beats Talent...when Talent doesn't work hard!" Trades for upgrades are called for soon!

The stadium is set up great where you can see the game from all angles. The concession stand had great food for reasonable prices. I love to watch the womens games. I will definitely be returning to support the Mystics and whoever they are competing against.

  • Great venue and atmoshpere

    by P. A. on 8/3/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I attended the two-game series against Seattle Storm. Got a parking pass at the Green lot for both games. The drive to the arena was super easy and smooth. Exiting after the games took less that 20 minutes. There are no bad seats at this arena. They do keep it super cold so bring a sweater. Access to the restrooms and concessions is on par with other arenas. My one quibble with the arena is access to merchandise. One station is crammed in a corner, the other station by the entrance. Gets super crowded around them and hard to look through everything. Would be nice to have an actual store in the arena. Also, would love to have more player jerseys available to purchase. The crowd was amazing. It was great to see a lot of families in attendance. The arena staff and security were friendly, helpful and nice. I had such a great time! 10/10 will be back for more games. Two thumbs up!!

  • 1st Game, won’t be my Last 😎

    by M. P. on 8/3/22Rating: 3 out of 5

The game and atmosphere was great. The area around the arena is very congestion and the parking garage is a nightmare. The free shuttle from the garage to the arena is a plus. It took us a hour to exit the parking garage all in all my experience is a 6.5/10

  • Great Fun!

by Sports Fan on 8/2/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful newer arena, terrific team play and great time!

  • Good game bad parking

    by T on 8/2/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Those of us who chose to park in the parking garage regretted it as we were stuck in there for quite a while. They really need to work on parking!

  • LET ME OUT!

by SamJ on 8/2/22Entertainment & Sports Arena - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Love the Mystics. Washington ESA needs all the nearby development. (Sorry about the gentrification.) The parking garage was a nightmare. After the game cars on the third level and above were not able to move for almost an hour. Not an inch. Monumental Sports or whoever runs that garage need to keep this from ever happening again. And I want my parking fee fully refunded.
