Sometimes a concert ticket is really a portal to a dream world. Such is the case with Washed Out, the stage name for South-Carolina-reared and Georgia-based sound artist and multi-instrumentalist Ernest Greene. Since his songscapes began spreading around the Internet in 2009 (his breakthrough EP Life of Leisure was an instant critical darling), Washed Out, which tours as a multi-piece band, has been recognized as one of the chief innovators of the nascent 'chillwave' movement. Creating mood music of the highest order, Washed Out combines groves hatched in the '70's, synth pop from the '80's, and ambient music of the very near future to create electronic sound both startlingly unique yet strangely familiar. While Washed Out's greatest exposure has been from having one of its tunes, "Feel It All Around," used as the theme to IFC's Portlandia, there's nothing ironic about its music. As embodied by its concerts and its 2013 album Paracosm, Washed Out's second consecutive record to reach the top 10 on Indie and Alternative charts, this hazy dream pop is all about wonder, romance and taking an ethereal, retro-themed voyage you never want to end.

Very minimal with amazing video projection, Washed Out delivered. Now I feel bad missing their previous shows!
The show was great. Admittedly, there wasn't much information on the opening act.. in fact there were 2. I didn't know or figure it out till the day after when I Googled it to see who esle was playing that night. Anyways. Washed Out was great. I always wanted to see them perform live and when the opportunity came up, it was a no brainer to get tix. They played a lot of tracks from their latest album, Mister Mellow. The highlights were them playing a good number of their older tracks which I really loved. They were just 1 song shy of playing them all, "All I Know".. the crowd was pleased. I also enjoyed the 2 opening acts, DEGA and Peanut Butter Wolf. Both represented some of Washed Out's style in different areas. The only thing with having 3 groups playing total is the total performance got extended much later. I think was supposed to end at 10pm and Washed Out didn't start till about then.. it all ended by around 11:15pm.
The Mister Mellow visual album is even better in person. Can't say that for many live bands. Lots of people at the show, but everyone was relaxed, happy, and really chill.
I love Washed Out's songs and their live performance did not disappoint. They had super cool visuals accompanying their music.
Amazing show, but the staff will totes kick you out if you smoke doobs at this venue
I loved Feel It All Around mostly, but all of the songs were fantastic, especially with the visuals in the background. Nicely done, Washed Out.
The setting was cool, the music was awesome, overall I had a great time.
Very good set by Small Black and Washed Out. Washed Out set was kind of short .
This was my second time seeing Washed Out live on the Paracosm tour and, once again, I was not disappointed! It was great to see him finally come down to Florida, playing some of the new songs like It All Feels Right and All I Know and mixing in some of the older stuff we know and love (Eyes Be Closed, Feel It All Around). Unlike most electronic acts, Washed Out has a great live band that bring these songs to life!! Unlike most shows, Washed Out also had a great opening band perform! Really enjoyed both, can't wait for them to stop around Florida again!! If you get a chance to see Washed Out live, do it!!
Was short and sweet. Definitely one of the best concerts I have been to and with a great group of friends. Washed Out was awesome
Music was good. Washed Out set was good, however, the length of the set was unacceptable to me. One and a quarter hours is way too short.
Interesting event. Cool venue. Average show. Good time.
The greatest experience of my entire life. Truly beautiful with a great venue
Amazing show! Music was great, and I really like the venue, small and intimate.
The combination of the lights (which highlighted the band) and their music harmonized so perfectly that words can not describe it. I'm not going to lie having to stand the entire time was a pain, but well worth hearing them play.
Awesome show!!! Thanks, Ernest, for stopping through New Orleans!
I couldn't hear him very well the PA system made it hard for me to hear
It was a truly great show. I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I wish the staff had asked everybody to find their seat before the show started because although I had front row seats I had to stand behind a really tall guy to see the show
Awesome! Great opening band (Smallblack) , and Washed Out was absolutely awesome, I can't wait to see them again! Also, bijou theatre is not only beautiful but unique.
