Good concert but did not match venue

by Calypso1212 on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

This was an "upscale" nightclub with a lot of stuff on their website about acceptable attire. Glad they relaxed the rules for this concert but still very confusing.

    Slaughter always rules!

by dokkenlover on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

Great venue for this kind of show. Firehouse never fails to deliver melodic hard rock. Bill and CJ are awesome performers with crisp piercing vocals and lightning sweet guitar solos. Mark Slaughter probably captures the essence of 80's rock as well as anybody with his stage presence. Has a great supporting cast with smoking hot wailing guitar and a drummer from an asylum. Never seen a drummer play symbols with his feet before! Warrant is better now (sorry Jani) as in more energy with new songs to prop up the 80's anthems. Glad to see some younger faces bringing this music into this decade. In 80's rock we trust!

All the bands surprised me. They still got it after 20+ years. Sounded great , all had amazing energy and can still work a crowd.

    Warrant, Slaughter, and Firehouse

by JARSCHIC on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

Glass Cactus was an amazing place for a concert. Great to see these bands again. We had so much fun living the 80's again. Unreserve seats made it very difficult to see the band.

Firehouse & Warrant - awesome! Slaughter - not so.

by PRDG1 on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

I had never been to the Glass Cactus before. It is a great facility to see a show. Very cozy and there isn't really a bad spot. Would certainly recommend this venue again. Firehouse always puts on a great show. I've been going to their shows since the 90s and they sound just as good as ever. Warrant was also fabulous. Although Jani Lane is not with the band anymore, I was super impressed with their current singer. Great vocals and I believe he slid right into the new spot well. They played a few tunes off their new album - looks to be promising. Now for the disappointment - Slaughter. I had really been looking forward to seeing them. I don't know if Mark Slaughter is trying to change his singing method or the fact is he just can't sing like he used to. He screamed all his songs. It was so disappointing. There were times I wasn't sure what he was singing because he was screaming. You could also tell he was drunk. He needs to lay off the booze for one thing. Slaughter was in between the other two bands and quite honestly, brought me completely down and gave me a headache. I was so glad to see them get off the stage. Firehouse and Warrant would certainly be better off getting another band to fill in for Slaughter.

    Warrant/Slaughter/FireHouse rocks in DFW.

by BlueTeam on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

FireHouse was really cool and they played their hits you expect to hear. Slaughter absolutely rocked and have never sounded better. The energy and showmanship they still have is incredible. Warrant played a monster set and topped it all off with some expected dessert. Their current singer is an asset to their performances. Well done.

A great evening of 80s rock!

by Clpartee on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

Glass Cactus nightclub was a great venue. All 3 bands were excellent! I loved how intimate the stage was. I've never been that close at a concert! I will be back!!

    Half and Half

by DallasBrad on 3/21/11GLASS CACTUS NIGHTCLUB - Grapevine

Warrant absolutely rocked despite 20 years off the charts. Firehouse had fantastic vocals, although they look like a bunch of church-fathers now. Slaughter, who I mainly came to see, was disappointing - out of shape and no vocals left. I loved you guys, and I'll stick with the memories instead.

We flew in over 700 miles to see this show. I spent $ 200.00 x 4 for very good seats. The show started early and we totally missed L.A. Guns. Firehouse rocked the house and were definantly should have been the headliner..
