Pulitzer Prize winning musical "South Pacific" gets an inventive, energetic revival at the Walnut. Great songs, production and cast.
Beautiful set with a live orchestra beneath the stage! The performers voices were rich and resonant. Never too loud, never too quiet. The story is a classic and it was represented extremely well!
This was my first time seeing South Pacific in the theater. Overall I thought it was a great production. The props were great. The acting was good. It was fun and well worth it. Only down side was that the seats at the Walnut Theater were really cramped. My wife and I are both 5' 10" and our knees were against the backs of the seats in front of us.
It is always a pleasure to attent a play at Walnut street Theatre. Parking it's never a problem. We traveled over three hours to see South Pacific !
The folks at the Walnut have done it again. This production was wonderful..Great singing and acting and a really clever job of staging. The set was amazing
Show was great. I had forgotten how many great songs are in South Pacific. Cast was really solid and the leads were amazing.
It was a fine musical, but I don't think it is worth $80
What can one say which hasn't already been said about " South Pacific !" It is a classic of The Great White Way. This production at The Walnut Street Theatre was wonderful, and, outside of The great Odette Myrtil, one of the best " Bloody Mary's " we have seen. The Orchestra was expert. A highly recommended performance .
Excellent show. Professional cast. The musical numbers were amazng
All of the actors were perfect for their roles. We saw South Pacific in the Lincoln Center in 2008 - we enjoyed this performance just as much!
From actors, scenery, music and lighting all good! Opening pictures good also.
What a great production. Fabulous cast and of course those memorable and unforgettable songs.. You'll laugh, hum along, and find out that the story is relatable to today's world.
We weren't sure what to expect since this was our first show at the Walnut Street Theatre. We were all pleasantly surprised! The production was just as good as anything we have seen on Broadway. The acting, singing and staging blew us away. The theatre was comfortable and even though we had side orchestra seats our view was unobstructed. We are looking forward to seeing more shows at the Walnut!
We thoroughly enjoyed South Pacific. It was a very entertaining show!
I purchased tickets for this show as birthday present for my sister, we are big Broadway theater geeks, and when I saw this show was in town I couldn't resist. It is after all Rogers & Hammerstein. The show did not disappoint, the cast was fantastic, the sets were amazing and the music, just perfect. Anyone who hasn't seen this show should go before the run ends.
This was our first Broadway Show at Walnut Street Theater. My wife and I were pleasantly enchanted by the cast and production of South Pacific!
The cast was fabulous. Great voices, great acting talent, great dance numbers.
wonderful seats...fun experience...terrific cast and crew
I enjoyed the show. Bloody Mary needs improvement.
the walnut street theater although always a venue to see fantastic performances, is in possession of a gem. the cast, the production, the musicians and backdrop all combine to make south pacific come alive, reminding one generation of how life and love can be (add your own thoughts) and teaching another. the individual performances by all cast members were powerful, but the opening some enchanted evening blew me away. I will attend another showing.
