It felt like a high school production..the show was boring was going to leave during intermission but we were with another couple so we stayed. All the seats in the theater had a good view
HARVEY is a must-see production. Period. End of statement. As a theatre major and someone who has worn many hats from acting to directing to techie, it's seldom these days that something amiss doesn't catch my eye. This, I am happy to say, was one of those rare times. From the details of the period costumes, to the swift and seamless scene changes, to the brilliant acting, HARVEY was a skillfully assembled production. The invisible rabbit in the room was given his space to exist in, making suspension of disbelief on the audience's part barely necessary. They helped us to see him too!
My sister and I took 4 of our kids ages 8 to 12 and we all loved it; the second act could move along a little more quickly but it was a fun show and the sets and acting talent were amazing!
Harvey was cute and entertaining. If you remember the movie version with James Stewart you should go. All the actors played their parts very well. I especially enjoyed Vera, the nervous sister. I you like leg room, I would suggest the front row of the mez. This is an old theater and if you are tall, your legs will be in your chest (not literally) but you might be uncomfortable. Also whatever show time you decide to come, come early. Parking is hard to find and gets filled up quickly. $25-30 to park is the average.
This was a nicely directed and acted show. The set was lovely. The sound was good. The sight lines were excellent. The play is a comedy -- some aspects of the humor are becoming a little dated but most should still be able to identify with the times and issues raised. Did I mention that the actors were very good. My wife and I had a great evening
Very funny! Set is breathtaking! Acting fantastic!
Went with a friend and her 2 grandchildren. We all loved it, just a great show, funny and the actors and actresses were likable.
Harvey was fabulous. This extraordinary play was both hilarious and profound. The acting was wonderful. The sets and costumes were beautiful. Don't miss it!
Harvey delivered a witty insight into the human condition and makes one question what all the hype is around being sane anyway! The cast did a wonderful job despite acting in the long shadow of the movie cast. The actor playing Elwood hit a perfect balance, keeping a James Stewart "esque" manner and delivery while at the same bringing his own take to the stage. I came with a group of six folks and we all enjoyed the show and the theater!
Great show and story line. The story was family friend. Humor was appropriate. Acting was great.
He won't make me forget the movie and Jimmy Stewart, but Ben Dibble was very good. The sanitarium strongman and Myrtle-Mae were the weakest cast members. Nevertheless - a very enjoyable theatrical evening, from start to finish.
Well cast, Great sets. Timeless. Go! We were all seeing Harvey by the end of the evening.
