About

GOOD PEOPLE takes you to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month's paycheck covers last month's bills and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling that made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. This new American play is a smart, funny and suspenseful story about people who succeed and the GOOD PEOPLE that help them do it.

Good People was witty, humorous and sharpe

The characters were excellent in their portrayal. The dialogue was crisp, witty, and connected. It reminded me of an Oscar Wilde play. I would recommend this play to all audiences, possibly over the age of 14 due to language.

Good People is a hilarious, heartwarming story!

I brought my mom for her birthday. She grew up in Roxbury, which is a very close neighbor to Southie in Boston. We loved the show. It's a great depiction of the people of that area. We both saw and heard the voices of many relatives through the actors on stage. That Southie accent is a tough one to imitate without it sounding ridiculous, but they nailed it! Especially Dottie, Jeane and Margaret! I think everyone from that area knows someone named Dottie and the way the actors pronounced "Dottie" was perfect! Thanks for a fun night to celebrate my mom's birthday.

Good People reminds us that we're all human

by RickAl on 3/25/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

Very nicely written & performed. There is something in this performance with which everyone can identify, as it's all about relationships: the good, the bad, & the ugly!

Should have been called "Creepy People"

by EventWatcher2 on 3/17/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

The acting was good. The premise of the story disturbing. I felt the story was bringing to shame someone who was trying to make a better life. The "Good People" call it "luck" and they say that one's success is made possible by them........they made excuses and seem to be best at wallowing in "their own misfortune" . I wished for a happier ending...one that would address people achieving a better life by helping others and by putting their mind to it.
