About

ELF is the charming tale of Buddy, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Buddy is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, he embarks on a journey to New York City with dreams to find his birth father and discover his true identity. What's an adopted elf to do when he realizes his father is on Santa's 'naughty' list and his half-brother doesn't believe that there is a Santa Claus? It's up to Buddy to save Christmas! Find your inner ELF as the writers of Annie and The Wedding Singer adapt the hit film into the unforgettable gift of a Broadway musical for the holiday season!

This is not a broadway type production!

by Jimbol19 on 11/11/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

A nice little theater in downtown Philly.... But that was the only positive. If you are expecting anything similar to the movie...forget it! Besides elf, elves and the name of the main characters its different. All the great moments are cut out, no bathroom song, no Miles Finch, no decorating the store a poor santa and an elf that was more of a dancer than a singer. There was no music from the original... and that was only in the first part before intermission. We left....$165 for two tickets for a production that was worse than a high school play!

    Elf - Not for children

by MumFam on 11/10/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I thought this would be good to take my children to see. Had language that I don't allow them to use and too much sexual inuendo toward the end. Was not needed in the play.

    Disappointing

by DAJMom on 11/10/13Walnut Street Theatre - Philadelphia

I was really looking forward to seeing Elf the Musical, but I was sadly disappointed. The music is uninspired. Cristopher Sutton (Buddy the Elf) has a voice that does not carry at all (even in the small venue). Their are two numbers with Buddy's mom and little brother that are excellent. Besides the funny Santa in the beginning, the two numbers I just mentioned, and one song with a multitude of Santas in a Chinese restaurant , the rest of the show is forgettable the moment you walk out of the theatre. My husband, teenage son, and tween son and daughter all agreed. Bottom line, SAVE YOUR MONEY - buy the movie instead.

Very good show, well acted and professionally run. 1st time at the Walnut Street Theatre and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for an older theatre. Will definitely go back.
