This is a musical review with songs by Rogers and Hammerstein set in a cabaret style
room with tables and banquettes along the wall. There are four performers, two men and two women who sing solo and together the old and familiar songs from shows like "Oklahoma",
"The King and I" and "South Pacific" as well as some lesser known songs like one of the most entertaining sung by Jennie Eisenhower, "It's Me". The arrangements and choreography for the short dance numbers were excellent. I particularly liked the jazzy rendition of "Kansas City". There was a nice mix of romantic ballads and upbeat amusing songs such as "I'm just a Girl who Can't Say No" and "I'm Going to Wash that Man Right
out of my Hair". The voices and talents of the performers were well suited to the number they sang. And the piano accompaniment was very good. Altogether, the experience was
enchanting, lively and very entertaining. I have already recommended it to friends.
I thought it might only interest people of my generation who had seen these shows when
they first came out, however, there was a little girl of about 7 or eight whom I saw
imitating the gestures of one of the performers and who came out singing, "I'm going to
Wash that Man Right out of My Hair".
