About

Wale on Tour

There's only one Wale. Since arriving in 2006, he has consistently gone against the grain. An old school lyricist with new school energy, otherworldly hooks and a sense of irony tailormade for its own Seinfeld episode, he instantly set himself apart. 2008's inventive Mixtape About Nothing cemented him as a critical favorite and preceded the major label debut Attention Deficit in 2009. Bowing at #2 on the Billboard 200, the now-classic and gold-certified Ambition yielded the GRAMMY® Award-nominated platinum-selling "Lotus Flower Bomb." Two more blockbusters followed as The Gifted [2013] and The Album About Nothing [2015] both crashed the Billboard 200 at #1 back-to-back. Shine [2017] gave the world "My PYT," which is RIAA certified platinum, as Wale continued dropping heat. Along the way, Wale covered magazines such as Complex, Billboard, XXL and Vibe, and would receive honors at the BET Awards, BET HipHop Awards, Soul Train Awards and more. To date, Wale has achieved four platinum or multiplatinum singles, three gold singles and two gold albums. Wale continues to break ground with the release of 2019's critically-acclaimed Wow... That's Crazy, which includes #1 single "On Chill" featuring Jeremih. What's more, Wale has accumulated over 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has reached over half a billion channel views on YouTube.

Wale also made history as "the first rapper to open the State Of The Union," gracing the stage with an unforgettable performance before President Obama's final State Of The Union Address. A regular guest of the First Family, he participated in First Lady Michelle Obama's "Reach Higher" initiative for higher education as well. Expanding his cultural influence, Wale teamed up with Villa for a limited-edition line of sneakers. These included the Asics "Bottle Rocket," the Timberland "Gift Box Set" and the VILLA x Wale x ASIC Gel Lyte III "IC Champion." Wale's label imprint, Every Blue Moon, encompasses the scope of his creative vision with musicians, comedians and screenwriters under its umbrella.

Wale should have arrived earlier and stayed longer

by davetrainofpain on 9/17/11Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson University - Clemson

Wale was great. Cyhi was great. Statik, MOTM, and Mimosa were fine, but their sets all went on way too long. I came to that show at 8 to see Wale, and he didn't come out until after 11:30. I thought I was going to a rap show, but I was treated to probably about an hour of dubstep, which doesn't seem that different in person vs. at home, except the bass was a lot louder. Which was cool. College concerts will always have very drunk crowds, which the less inebriated will happily tolerate if they are being treated to a great show. However, when you're watching Statik Selektah scratch for two minutes and then bob his head for half an hour, you appreciate the sweaty, swaying sots screaming in your ear and rubbing their man-asses all over you (I'm a dude, by the way) that much less. I felt like Wale just showed up late, and the crew told Mimosa and Statik to keep the music going while they waited for his bus to pull up. I had a great time when I wasn't really pissed off. It was a 50/50 show.

    wale was mediocre.

by ashley1691 on 9/17/11Littlejohn Coliseum at Clemson University - Clemson

He didn't seem as if he wanted to be in Clemson performing. The set was extremely short and the opening acts were way too long. I was bored by the time Wale came on.

    Wale is lame

by PMath on 5/16/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I went in hoping this concert would be more dynamic. Just a bunch a bunch of his entourage, no-name dudes running around the stage grabbing microphones and yelling into it. They all seemed to be drunk out of their minds, and it was a sloppy show. Not to mention that the start time was listed as 9pm, Wale came on stage around 11:15, and was done by 11:50. Weak!

Wale took too long to get on stage...

by einii on 5/13/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Then when he got on stage he was too messed up to put on a decent show. There were 13 other guys on stage with them and most of them were just watching and drinking. It was horrible. I'd have rather saved my money.

Wale was good but couldve been better

by zrytec on 5/13/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I pictured the concert to be a crazy concert with wale very hyped and going nuts but it wasn't. But you cant complain. Wale did his thing but the opening performers was TERRIBLE besides Black Cobain.

I liked Wale's performance but his set was a little short. It was an all ages show which benefits the younger fans but someone a little older like me doesn't appreciate dealing with their antics at a show. I would've appreciated if the show was at a smaller venue lke paradise.

    Wale @ The Wilbur

by skateboardcee on 5/13/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Wale was great. Wilbur was not a good venue for a hip hop show. Wish Wale played a few more songs, show ended early.

Wale & J Cole concert rocked!

by brit31 on 2/8/11Center Stage Atlanta - Atlanta

I really enjoyed this show! Both Wale and J Cole did awesome performances and they got the crowd going by keeping the show fun and interactive. I especially liked how Wale signed items for his fans at the end of the concert.

    Walé did his thing...

by PHASquare on 11/14/10Jesse Auditorium - Columbia

If you are a true Walé fan, then you will love the show. He did alot of cuts from his mixtapes and that was a huge plus. He did some songs from the album as well and a couple of freestyles. All in all a great show. The opening act was a group called The Deans List, they were pretty good as well.

the concert would be perfect if I wasn't stand for a hour listening to old school music. The other concern is that that were seat numbers with no seats

It was a good concert. Wale and B.O.B came late which kind of sucked but they were both good when they performed. The only negative was that Wale only performed for roughly 20 minutes, it would have been nice to let him perform longer
