I have gone for the past 4 years and this year was the worst. It was very crowded, long lines and most breweries ran out of beer at 4:00! We still had 2 hours left! We did not get our free pint glass when we left as they were all gone! There were 13 of us and none got one. They need to either limit the ticket sales or use the bigger event room…and have more beer!
I have only been to the Von Brewski Beer Fest once before. Biggest difference this time? The place was PACKED! But I have to give a shoutout to the vendors: the lines were sometimes long but they kept them moving quickly. What looked like a 10 minute wait often took less than 5! The live band was awesome! They played requests and because few people were requesting, I was able to get both of my requests played! They played a nice mix of Rock & Country music and had people dancing in the open area in front of the stage. A great even overall!
I don’t think the VBC was expecting as many people that showed up. It was very crowded and took way too long to get into the show. Most of the “swag” was gone by the time we entered. A lot of people were taking more than their share. We did have a good time, just felt it was a bit disorganized.
This event was very well planned and VIP was all we hoped for. There was plenty of seating with an abundance of food. The beer selections were fabulous!! I really liked the small disposable cups. Vendors had run out of beer after only a couple of hours. This was a 4-hour event. It wasn’t a secret how many people were attending, so I think everyone should bring enough beer to last. We brought a crew from Memphis, and I would definitely make the drive again. Bravo to the organizers, and Publix of course.
We arrived within 5 minutes of start. Some of the brewers were closed (out of beer) before we could get to their booth. Most of the brewers were out of at least 1 option before we could get to their booth. With all attendees paying at least $50, I would think the brewers would have adequate inventory to support the event for at least an hour. Lines were long and it took along time to get from booth to booth, it was disappointing to wait that time just to find out the booth did not bring adequate inventory!
Well organized, laid out very well, clean, everyone was nice - well done. Lots of great breweries, good selection of a variety of beers. There were food options (we did not try any). We liked it, and always enjoy coming to Huntsville for the weekend!
The Venue was too small for the amount of Vendors and the number of guests. Poorly done. I wasted $60. Didn't get to try one beer. The lines were ridiculous.
Very spaced out, never a long line at any booth, so many booths and brews to choose from. The live music was great, and the photo booth options are always a blast.
Second year in a row attending the Von Brewski and what a difference a year makes. Yes, I get it, we need to feel good about doing the COVID thing but come on this was a bit too drastic. Last year was a larger event with every brewer being afforded their own booth to showcase their beers. This year? Nope. Instead, the event was put into a much smaller venue, limited to 200 people per session, and the beers were in three "bars" occupying concession booths in the music hall. While we had no problem sampling beers, there was no showcasing of individual breweries so if you found a beer you enjoyed you had to google or ask someone who the brewer was. If the restrictive measures were intended to make the event "safer" then I'd say the measures were a failure. The much smaller venue had everyone packed into close proximity and standing in long lines for the three bars. Please, next year bring Von Brewski back to its full glory, put it back in the large hall, allow each brewer to showcase their beers at their own booths, and let the people attending (who are all adults) take measures for safety if we choose. We'll be there to make it three in a row. It's a great event for Huntsville. But make this year's limited, small venue a one time thing.
and the beer of course. Would like to see more beer from outside the state. Atmosphere was great. It was worth the trip from Birmingham.
