Danish metal fusion act Volbeat has grown from a well-known regional band in Scandinavia to an international touring outfit sharing the bill with music giants Megadeth and Metallica. The four-piece group mixes metal, hard rock and a touch of punk with rock and roll inspiration from icons like Elvis, creating a well-liked combination that easily sells tickets. And when the Northern European performers aren’t in the recording studio, they’re tackling headlining concerts and taking part in the international festival circuit. Volbeat’s nearly decade-long discography boasts five studio albums, all of which have achieved at least gold status in their native Denmark. The band’s 2013 effort, “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies,” marked the first collection to chart in the U.S. That set, which former Anthrax guitarist and new Volbeat member Robert Caggiano co-produced, made it to the top of Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart.
Great show. Its always a treat when the band sounds just as good or better live then their recordings.
They sound even better live! The guys were great and really appreciated their fans. I would have given the concert five stars but the venue was a bit small. It sold out but I think that they could have played a bigger venue and still would have sold out. If they come here again buy your tickets early!!!!
Digital Summer and Trivium would exceptionale, but VOLBEAT....nothing could compare!
Great band, great venue. Can't wait to see them again.
I saw them open for Metallica in Sacramento and they were good then but about 5 years later , I'd put them up there in the top 5 in my favorites bands.
I have been following this band for about the last 4 years could not believe how good they were in person even better than on vinyl. they have such a fresh approach and every single song just rocks your ass. if you haven't heard them yet you're totally missing out. I took family with me and they were blown away, only wish they'd been in town longer I would have gone back the following night
The first band Digital Summer was great, very entertaining! Got to meet the band and get autographs! Amazed that the badass drummer was only 13 years old! Trivium was very good also and the lead singer vocals were amazing and sounded like Geoff Tate from Queensryche. This was our 2nd time seeing Volbeat and they never disappoint their fans. I love that they play Johnny Cash and put their own spin on it.
Volbeat is high energy and have a very unique sound. Awesome band live.
The even was super nice and super safe love love it if ai see anything saying the grove we will be there especially if one of our fav bands!!!! Volbeat killed it Michael Polsean looked super hot as usual!!!!!
Amazing bands! Great venue! Parking was close and Security was actually quite professional.
Venue was clean, courteous and easy to get to, and close by parking too. Volbeat was over the top superb! Very nice guys as well as fantastic musicians.
I love it when you go to see a band and they sound like their CD. What a GREAT performance. I loved it. Volbeat killed it.
Concert was great with very good warm up acts that were enjoyable. I liked the standup section format of The Grove.
Volbeat is one of the hardest working and best live bands out there. In only a few short years, we have seen them seven times -- not because we are their biggest fans but because they never seen to stop touring! It seems if they aren't headlining a show then they are opening for another of our favorite bands. Even if you just like a few of their songs, see them live. They have an energy and sound live that is hard to capture on a CD. Seeing them up close at a smaller venue like The Grove was perfect.
Up close and personal, would definitely go again!!
This is the second time I have seen Volbeat and they are exceptional!! They always put on an awesome show, and they have a high level of audience interaction.
Volbeat was amazing, great energy. I love Mike's voice and I can't wait until to see them again.
Had a great time! Loved Digital Summer, Trivium was ok, but Volbeat was amazing!!
It was a packed show and a great crowd (except for a few dip heads)! They played all of the songs I wanted to hear and then some. Introduced to them last year by my nephew, thanks dude! I will do again in a heartbeat!
Great show by Volbeat! I regret not seeing them at the Palladium now. The set was varied and included songs from all of their albums. They even played a little bit of one of the songs on their upcoming album which was very good and heavy. Great rapport with the audience and good sound quality. If they are coming to a venue near you you should check them out.
