    Solid, but not spectacular

by mikec01 on 7/18/16The Pageant - St Louis

Very solid performance. but definitely missing old drummer. Leaned heavily on new music, which sounded better live than on CD.

    Femmes Rawk

by BobbaRoo on 7/17/16The Pageant - St Louis

When I was in college in the 90s, the Femmes were the it-band. Every frat party, every house party would blast them out. Add It Up was the traditional closing song. Having heard them about 20 times live at the Blue Note in Columbia, it was great to see them back on tour. Gano and Ritchie were awesome, and while I miss Victor, the new drummer was great. They sounded fantastic!

    Violent Femmes kicked ass

by 4thepunkinyou on 7/17/16The Pageant - St Louis

This show was amazing! They played a lot of there hits of course they couldn't play them all. They were flawless. We were hopping for a few more from the new album but we understand that not everyone has heard it and want to hear the old school Femmes. I would definitely go again.

Back In Time with the Violent Femnes.

by skbatmen on 7/13/16The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

The Violent Femmes took you back to the 1999s with their high energy show. They sounded a lot like they did in the early days with solid vocals and upbeat energy. The set list included most of the hits. For me, a notable exclusion was "Tonight" from their "Rock" cd. The Femmes are one of my favorite bands. I was glad to see them perform in Michigan. My body may have been outdated, but the Femmes were able to take me Back In Time!

I have seen the Violent Femmes 3 times, and each time is like the first. The music is timeless and she makes me want to dance.

    Let it go on ...

by dcline on 7/13/16Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

The venue changed to The Fillmore to accommodate the huge crowd. There really isn't anything better than a club packed full of people who love the band and can sing every song by heart! This was a great concert full of energy and happiness on every level. I've seen The Femmes before and will definitely see them again. Loved it!

    Man-Sized Saxophone!

by ViolentFann on 6/23/16Stone Pony Summer Stage - Asbury Park

Hadn't seen the Femmes since the 90s. Even without Victor, they've still got it. The new songs blended in nicely with the big hits. I was pleased to see the ultra-metal version of Old Mother Reagan make an appearance too. If you're on the fence about going, do yourself a favor and buy those tickets! Our two teenaged sons were surprised at how much they liked it!

Why did I wait soooo loooong?

by FeralWaves on 6/22/16Stone Pony Summer Stage - Asbury Park

I figured being older, like me, that I missed my chance to see their greatness. I was dead wrong. From start to finish I was enthralled. They're amazing live. They sound like they always did. All their signature sounds are on point. I just put a big'old check mark on my bucket list.

    Violent femmes were awesome

by AnaA23 on 6/22/16Stone Pony Summer Stage - Asbury Park

The violent femmes were great sounded just like they did back in the day. Would see them again but not at this venue. The tickets state that show starts at 5:30 but it actually didn't start until 8:30pm. So there's not much seating and nothing to do except drink for 3 hours. I'm not much of a drinker. So I had nothing to do. Had to stand most of the time with my fractured ankle. Terrible!!

One of the Best Bands Ever

by jenn328 on 6/22/16Stone Pony Summer Stage - Asbury Park

Doors opened at 5:30 and the opening act didn't come on until 7, which would have been nice to know beforehand. Security was distinctly unfriendly and unhelpful but vendors were pleasant. Opening act was OK but the Femmes rocked it. I have been a fan for 30 years and they are just getting better with age. They rocked just as hard as people half their age...they did all their biggest hits plus some new songs and deep cuts. They had no setlist and even played some requests. It was a fabulous night and really couldn't have been better. If you ever have a chance to see them make it a point to do so.

    Amazing

    by k8taylor on 6/16/16Mr. Smalls - Pittsburgh

This is one of the best shows I have seen in a very long time - they have so much unique talent, instrumentation, vocals, lots of energy, humor and authenticity. I felt transported back to my late teens/ early 20's with my Violent Femmes cassette going while I sang unabashedly along. I don't think I was alone in this feeling - there was a real youthful/ vulnerable side that came out with the crowd of 30 and 40 somethings shouting out the lyrics to "I Held Her in My Arms", "Kiss Off" and "Gone Daddy Gone" and all the other great ones. Plus new songs with great lyrics and melodies.

    Unbelievably good time

by Alagria on 5/11/16Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

From the minute the Femmes took the stage the night was electric - the Femmes started out with Blister in the Sun followed by Add it Up. Great concert, played everything I would have wanted.

    Femmes at the Orpheum

by Hngnout7 on 5/10/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Thought it sounded great, especially the classics. New stuff was pretty good. Gordon sounds great, Blaise shreds, and Brian Richie is just plain sick! Whoever was playing mandolin was also very good. Crowd was into it, a lot of people dancing and having fun, a way a concert/gig should be.

    They're back

by kerowacky on 5/10/16Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Best performance by them in years. They look to have their energy back. They played a ton of new material, which cut some staples from their set, but they all seemed to work live.

    Awesome concert and venue

by 5Sunshine5 on 5/9/16Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

As usual, the VF's put on an amazing show. I've seen them play many times and it's always a great performance. Also, Humphreys as a venue is wonderful. No matter where you sit you are/feel close to the stage and have a good view. Overall, fantastic concert!
