    Great Show

by Midnight Snacks on 5/13/24Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Violent Femmes put on a terrific show. Choosing to play their second album (more mellow) with an intermission before playing their namesake first album full of their energetic well known tunes was perfect. They were full of energy, fun and such talent!! It was one of the best shows I've seen at the Commodore in a long time. Perfect venue for them. Everyone I've talked to agreed it was a terrific show. Thanks VFs!!!

A very great night listening to full albums, remembering the mid 90s. Loved it

    They sound better than ever

by Obijohngordon on 5/13/24Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

One of the most entertaining bands I’ve seen. They sounded even better than when I saw them over 20 years ago. Gano’s voice hasn’t changed at all. I have no idea how Ritchie gets some of those sounds from his bass. The new drummer (joined 2005) is amazing. There’s a couple of other guys playing a wide range of instruments. Who else uses a giant saxophone, xylophone, barbecue (yup), and a conch? If you’ve never heard of them, you’d likely be entertained. If you’re a fan, it is everything you could hope for. I hope I don’t have to wait another 20 years to see them again. If I do, I bet they’ll be the most entertaining octogenarians.

    Incredible sound and venue

    by Coffeeman22 on 11/17/23

VF was just as others said, they rock as much as they always have and the horns are sick. After the album was over they played some other hits and jammed quite a bit. Novo Theater in LA is just an awesome modern venue.

    Fantastic Experience

by Mel on 11/14/23The Sylvee - Madison

The guys are as good today as they were when I saw them in the 80s! Plus the expanded horn section was fantastic! I would see them every year if possible.

Even if you don’t have core high school memories of this music, you will still have a fantastic time! If you love live music, go to this show.

One of the best shows ever

by Elise on 10/18/23MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

the MGM Musical Hall is absolutely beautiful. Not a bad seat in the house. The rooftop bar is a must-visit. At the first song of the opening band I thought I might have to step out until the VF came on stage. But by the second song, I was hooked. The Nickel and Dimes Band, from Jamaica Plain MA, was absolutely amazing. They gave a very Talking Heads vibe. And then the Violent Femmes. They are one of the best bands I have ever seen live. Nothing flashy. No pyrotechnics, robotic stage decorations or dancers. Pure, unadulterated musical talent. They blew us away. I would DEFINITELY go back to the MGM. And if the VMs tour again, I will DEFINITELY see them again as well.

    Great band; horrible light show

by Jen on 10/18/23Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

Excellent musicians; played their classics. I have to mention the light show. Someone made the decision to have bright lights shining in our faces for the majority of the show. Like I can handle lights, but these were directly in our eyes and made it hard to focus on the music or just relaxing.

    Incredible Show!

by Michelle Rose on 10/17/23Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

The venue, the opening act, The Rock Academy, and Violent Femmes were all magical!!! It was clear the audience was filled with super fans and everyone was singing along. The night was filled with surprises, with the kids from Rock Academy coming back up on stage to play with the Femmes! They blew the crowd away! The harmonies, the horns, the drums, the guitars, keyboards and the passion was all present and accounted for! WOW!!!
