    A powerful show!

by CinciNative on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Wish they had a half-star rating - this would get a 4.5 in my book. Video Games Live was a phenomenal concert. My group had a great time and really enjoyed how the performers interacted with the crowd. There was only one thing I would add: I wish they had developed multiple themes from the saga/game franchise they were playing. For instance, they only played the main theme from the Legends of Zelda. I wish they had interwoven some of the other great themes from that series, such as Song of Time, or Song of Storms. Or, in Warcraft, if they had added the Burning Crusade theme, or some of the music from around that world. Would have given the concert that last half star for me to rate it a full 5.

    Video Games Live

by tmcsaint on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

This show was absolutely amazing. I had goosebumps the entire show. I truly doubt that any show i see the rest of the year will be able to top that. Excellent for gamers, fans of classical music, or just music lovers in general. Terrific show.

Video Games Live is exactly that!

by McCoyRJ on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Video Games Live combines the best of the video game industry - music, graphics, and video game skill - all in one fun filled evening. Use of the the local symphony (in this case the Cincinnati Pops Symphony) and local chorus was an added treat. There's something for everyone of every age. Vidoe Games Live doesn't fall short of its title - it's like being in a video game with all the bells and whistles. Loads of fun!

by joecheeze on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

3 words not enough people. this is an event that is more enjoyable the more people there are. unfortunately this event was not advertised enough to get a decent audience. Otherwise it was a great time.

    Very fun and unique experience.

    by MagnusG87 on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

The idea of a concert delivering music from the soundtracks from some of the most recognizable games in the industry is wonderful. Much like the feelings of the creators of this performance, I believe that the artistry of video games is far too often overlooked. The concert itself was great. There was a ton of energy and the music really reflected that. Even though the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra was performing these songs, it wasn't your typical "hush hush" type of concert. People were encouraged to get excited about the music which is what video games are all about. They want you to get excited about what you love. I believe this concert delivered on that idea and would definitely recommend it to others and I will be going in the future if it returns to the area.

    Video Games Live was Amazing!!!!

by FangirlE on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Took my 14 and 7 yr old nephews. We had amazing seats, in the pit, 2nd row from the stage, the only down was it was hard to see the lower screens, because the conductor and instruments were right in front of you. It was cool to see games I played as a kid and hear the music again. The boys loved every thing and were bumbed when it was over. They have to see it again next year, so please come back to Cincinnati on 2010!

    Cincinnati's First Video Game Concert!!!

    by ucsport08 on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

This concert was amazing. The first video game concert that I have been too and it lived up to what I expected. The Best Buy pre-show activities kept you entertained before the show started, so get there early. All the music was fantastic, and the main features followed along with the video perfectly. The piano soloist was just out of this world and even played songs the audience suggested. Many great titles were covered. This concert definitely left me with wanting more. At 2.5 hours long, it almost seemed too short. I could have enjoyed it for hours more. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play some of the titles that I was wanting to hear, but with only so much time, they can't play everything and I understand. Make sure you go online and request which songs you want to hear before the concert! PNC Pavilion was nice, but it was HOT and humid outside. The environment made it a little uncomfortable since you are sitting outside. I would have rather been sitting in an air conditioned theater.

    Lots of fun!

by citsongamai on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Really awesome concert. I was surprised by how much of the music I recognized. The music was all played well and even the music I didn't recognize I could at least appreciate for what good music it was. Overall, it was better than I'd imagined it would be.

Video games live was a fusion of my videogame life

    by Particleman80 on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

I loved getting to hear music from games spanning from my childhood to what I play now. VGL made me realize how much the music from those games left an impression on me and evoked such strong emotions. The more games you know the better the concert is but I think anyone would appreciate all of the music. Thanks to Tommy and company for bringing this show to life. I would recommend to anyone that is a fan of games to go watch these guys.

    Great for All Ages

by Chazlander on 7/28/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Great for first timers who've never been, or the enthusiast. I've been to one before, and it was 80% the same material. It was great to see Starcraft II music before the game is released.

I felt like I was a kid again

by ravenneangelle on 7/26/09Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

It was very impressive. To hear the music of your favorite games of all time were amazing to hear being played by a live orchestra. To hear the music from games as old as Pong and new as upcoming DIablo III was a great variety. They played games to involve the fans and there were chances to win prizes. The games played on big projector screens to enhance the experience along with neat lighting effects. It's one of those things where you have to be there to appreciate it, watching it on youtube doesn't do justice.

Can't wait for the next time

by ChromaKey5 on 7/22/09Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

In short, it was just an amazing show. Music of all kinds, from all eras, and from all the greats. The only disappointment was that they didn't play anything from God of War. Short of that, it was easily one of the best shows I've ever been too. From Mario Brothers to Final Fantasy to Halo, they played all of the greats. In addition to the music they had fun little games like space invaders and a guitar hero contest _with_ the audience, which was hillarious. I can't wait for it to come around again!

    A Show for Everyone

by Peawk on 7/16/09Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Video Games Live was an amazing event. The music, the video, the singing, the lights, the special guests, the personalities. I highly recommend it to all ages. It is an evening out, under the stars which you will always remember.

    Good stuff, too much talking.

by Asparks on 7/16/09Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

I enjoyed Video Games Live, especially the first half of the show, which focused on earlier video games. The orchestra and choir were very good, the conductor was fun to watch, the presentation was often innovative, and everything was done in a spirit of joy. Five stars for the first half. The second half tended more toward modern games, which often have realistic soundtracks. Since the orchestra sounds like the game, I don't see the point. I would have given this another star, but I am penalizing the MC for talking too much, making the show about himself, and being in love with playing the guitar impressively on every single number whether it needed him or not. Self-indulgence gets old fast, and we all had to sit through a couple hours of it. Two stars for the second half (but five for the orchestra/choir).

Knows how to put on a show

by SuperLuigi9 on 7/15/09Greek Theatre - Los Angeles

Video Games Live blew my mind. Even if you're not a "fan" of orchestrated music, you'll enjoy this show. They have lights, visuals, and they interact with the audience. If you call yourself a gamer, go to one. You owe it to yourself.
