I saw the show on Broadway 8 times, and expected to hate this one. It was wonderful. One or two performances that I preferred to the original cast!
I’ve seen so many musicals I can’t even begin to recover but this production was simply amazing. Every character, every role,,the orchestra, the voices.... wow!
This is such an amazing show and the cast was so amazingly talented that I wish the venue could have been a little better. The acoustics in the room were not very good. At times, the music sounded a little garbled due to poor sound absorption in the room. But it was definitely worth seeing. The cast delivered on every level of their performance--great singing, dancing and acting. It is a heartfelt show that will bring tears to your eyes for the story it shares about community, family, friendship, and the feeling of home. Well done, NC Theatre!
I was under the impression that this was a Broadway show from advertising and it wasn’t. I would never have paid that much for a local theatre ticket. I feel misled by the marketing.
NC Theater put on an amazing production of In the Heights and my only complaint is that it was only here for a week! The pre-performance emails sent were also very useful (especially the spanish phrases to brush up on!) The actors were all very dedicated to their roles and had fun with the performance.
The play was good with lots of talent, and loud enough to hear, but, being loud does not help someone with clarity and hearing loss. Here lies the problem, the headphones were not available because of a problem with all of them! Granted I got the gist, but I would have liked to hear ALL the words!!!! So much fun submitting a review when you put a nickname in (with letters and numbers) and are told they are not!! Lame!
It is always a problem getting in and out of this theatre because the hall wys become congested

Really good show. Mike wasn’t quite on for a couple of characters at a few times, but show was great!
Excellent cast. Very entertaining. Captured the true spirit of life on the bario.
