About

A major punk band for over two decades, Social Distortion came out of Los Angeles's active hardcore scene of the late '70s and early '80s. Their first album, Mommy's Little Monster, appeared in 1983 and featured the song "Another State of Mind," which aired as one of a few punk videos on mid-'80s MTV. Since then, Social Distortion have further developed their mix of punk and rockabilly with such songs as "Ball and Chain," "Bad Luck" and "Reach for the Sky." To this day, Social Distortion remain one of punk's most exciting and vital bands. Over the course of their career, Social Distortion have brought many venues to capacity, like Observatory North Park and the Mission Ballroom.

    Classic Punk

by Just Jay on 5/30/24The Astro - La Vista

First, the Astro is a great venue! There literally is not a bad place to watch the concert. Social Distortion performed above my expectations! Sometimes as bands get older they take quite a few steps back. However Social D hit home with this concert and showed that they still belong on stage. This is a must see band for those who associate with the punk genre. It was a rock solid performance and they definitely worth seeing again!

Social Distortion & Lovecrimes in Reno

by Michelle on 5/29/24Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

GREAT SHOW! Lovecrimes (Julian Ness’s band) was a great opening act, very talented guys and very gracious (got to meet them after the show). They are recording their first album in August. It was great to see Mike Ness back in action! He played and sang great, still had a wonderful presence on the stage.

    Great energy!

by Still Got It! on 5/29/24Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Mike Ness still has his unique voice despite his health issues and the music itself was still very high-energy! Great engagement with the audience and although his patter is lighter, Ness is still old school punk…awesome! Opening band, Lovecrimes, naturally carries on the Soc D sound with Julian Ness at lead vocals. Lovecrimes was a great surprise and should be around for a long time…

Took me back to my high school years

by mizninjahound on 5/29/24Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

What an amazing show, love crimes. The opening band was pretty great. But watching Mike Ness on stage after what he went through in the past year was the best part. Hearing his voice live help. My soul come alive. I remember going to the shows in the early '80s when social distortion will play the punk rock scene here in Reno, Nevada. Thoroughly enjoyed myself

    Not worth it

by Disappointed on 5/29/24Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Honestly, they didn’t play many songs and like one of their major hits. It was very uneventful and wasn’t worth the $300 for tickets. Won’t be doing that again. Waste of money.

    Social D for the win!

by Doug on 5/29/24The Union - Salt Lake City

We had a great time! The crowd was super. Mike sounded great and it was awesome that his son opened for them! Can’t wait for them to come back! It’s amazing that the band has lasted all these years.
