You Said Rain or Shine

A major punk band for over two decades, Social Distortion came out of Los Angeles's active hardcore scene of the late '70s and early '80s. Their first album, Mommy's Little Monster, appeared in 1983 and featured the song "Another State of Mind," which aired as one of a few punk videos on mid-'80s MTV. Since then, Social Distortion have further developed their mix of punk and rockabilly with such songs as "Ball and Chain," "Bad Luck" and "Reach for the Sky." To this day, Social Distortion remain one of punk's most exciting and vital bands. Over the course of their career, Social Distortion have brought many venues to capacity, like Observatory North Park and the Mission Ballroom.

First and last time at this Venue. They basically stole everyone’s money after ensuring the final band fulfilled the contractual obligation and then evacuated.
Social Distortion started a great show, but after four songs it was interrupted because a storm was coming, a storm that the forecast announced more than a week before, with plenty of time for moving the show to an indoor location or cancelling it, being the main reason for my Austin trip this is bad, being that my trip was a trip for two from Italy and quite expensive that really makes me disappointed, hopefullly a refound from the organizers will come but the bitterness will stay… can’t complain about the bands at all, social distortion 4 songs were good and they looked pissed about quitting and made some instagram posts about this and bad religion did a great show, but the organizers should give money back to the people or make another show for the ones that can attend
Was really disappointed that Moody didn't cancel and offer to give at least a portion of our money back after they new thunderstorms were in the forecast and went ahead anyhow.
The show was great up until it was cut short due to weather. I think customers are owed a partial refund when a concert they spent so much time, energy and money on is short changed.
Bad Religion shortened their set to 45 minutes. Social d sang 4 songs. Value for the money wasn’t there.
They were only allowed to play 5 songs because of inclement weather We all paid a lot of money and I’m super disappointed that we were forced to evacuate. Ed should get a full show.
This review isn't for the bands. It wasn't their fault. Social D is my all-time favorite band and my sons as well. The venue didn't handle the inclement weather well and should have canceled the event. The post 'rain or shine'. However, there was bad weather ALL day and they should have done better by all of us. They evacuated the venue 3rd song in. Not cool. Social D needs to be paid and we all deserve a refund for YOUR bad choices.
After the 3rd song, show was shut down by the venue. Not the bands fault, but still warrants a poor review.
My low rating is not for the bands, rather for the venue to be clear. A couple of the songs into the second act, Social Distortion, they shut everything down. Really confusing because on all the email communications it was constantly mentioned, "RAIN OR SHINE". Everyone there was ready to get wet and were enjoying the show in spite of the weather. Additionally, the venue also shut down the merchandise sales. I think the way it was handled was horrible and both the artists and the fans were not happy. Bad Religion really brought it. They had high energy and the whole crowd really responded to the vibe. One of the best live performances I have seen in a while. Social Distortion was good. Although, really didn't get to hear enough to gage how the crowd was responding. I think the artist was concerned and upset about the possibility of having the plug pulled. These are still two of my favorite bands and I plan on seeing them the following weekend in Ft. Lauderdale. I am hoping the weather and venue will be better.
Social D only got to play 4 songs and they sit it down due to weather and did not give refunds. I will not be going to this venue again.
Played 4 songs then quit. Won't go to another Mike Ness show
Flew all the way from Cranbrook BC to be at this 4/20 concert only to be rained out 3 songs in. Earlier the venue confirmed the show would go on “Rain or Shine”. What an absolute joke!
Everything about that 4/20 night was excellent! Not even the rain would dampen our spirits and joy!! But…3 songs in….. we’re being “evacuated”?!?! Who actually makes the decision NOT to let the storm pass and THEN continue?!?! After traveling from Utah just to see Bad Religion and Social D together…..well….EXTREME disappointment is all that’s left.
This has nothing to do with Ticketmaster but the venue. Forecast was rain and it rained heavily. Needless to say, after 30 min of Social D. playing the show was stopped, no refunds, nada, nothing.
The venue was not the best for a show that dealt with the elements. Opener was good. Bad Religion was awesome (although many were taken aback that they went on promptly at 8 and didn’t have an encore. Social Distortion only played half of their set due to weather. So, it was a good show all things considered, but ultimately disappointing that it was cut short.
To have a concert in the middle of a lightning storm was the wrong move by the time social d came on stage 4 songs then over for $72 a ticket I understand people’s safety but it should have been cancelled or postponed from the get go. We have not been offered any kind of compensation either this isn’t right
Bad Religion was great but Social D got rained out after 4 songs so.
Social D killed it !! Even with Mike Ness having been sick for a while now and having not toured regularly he nor the band fail to deliver. This was such a badass show !! Bad Religion was amazing as well , you can see and hear this veteran bands professionalism in every song and how they relate to the audience. Bravo Bad Religion and thanks ! I drove 1300 miles round trip for this show and it was worth every mile and $$$…
Social Distortion and Bad Religion on tour together….doesn’t get much better! The show started with Mike Ness’s son’s band The Lovebombs. They sounded great and look forward to hearing more from them. Bad Religion was up next and played an energetic solid set spanning their entire career. The set list was incredible and they sounded great. Social D came out and started with Bad Luck and Bye Bye Baby before going way back to 83 and playing several songs off Mommy’s Little Monster. They played several new songs off their upcoming album. They sounded as good as ever and look forward to the next tour! The Toyota Music Pavilion venue was appropriate for this show. It was a full house but still room to move around. Sound was good and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. I would definitely see another show here. Drinks are outrageous and they are cashless so keep that in mind if you attend a show there.
