Daughtry, one of the most visible and consistent Rock & Roll torchbearers of the 21st Century, has sold over 9 million albums and 16million singles worldwide as well as selling out concerts across the globe. Their debut album, the self-titled Daughtry, was the top-selling album of 2007, producing 4 Top 20 Platinum-selling singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the fastest-selling rock debut album in Soundscan history. It was also nominated for 4 Grammy Awards and won 4 American Music Awards and 7 Billboard Music Awards including Album of the Year. The subsequent albums, Leave This Town (2009), Break The Spell (2011), Baptized (2013) and Cage To Rattle (2018) were all certified Gold and placed in the top 10 in the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. In 2020, Daughtry released their newest single, World On Fire, which marked their return to their rock roots and the top of the Rock Charts in the US.
I’ve seen him twice and going a 3rd time! I would travel states to see him. His voice is even more powerful in person. Amazingly talented.
Daughtry was a big disappointment. Played cover songs and new stuff. Did not sound good. The opener Scott Stapp was so much better and had the crowd rocking and energetic. Wrong person was headliner.
Both of the performers are amazing! However, I didn’t understand what happened after Chris Daughtry, sang his first song. I could see it look like he was struggling with his earplugs, and he walked off stage after the first song, but he didn’t come back for a while and then it happened a couple other times it was very confusing, not knowing if he didn’t like the crowd and thought we were not appreciative of his performance or if it was a sound issue, especially when the whole band left nevertheless, he is an awesome singer, but was an odd experience. Scott had great stage presence.
Never been to a live concert where a band took so many breaks between songs. Daughtry played at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino on 1/19/24. Scott Stapp opened for Daughtry, and he was fantastic, sounded great, and kept the audience engaged. (Now I want to see Creed when they start touring again.) So, I was all excited and pumped up ready to experience something similar when Daughtry took the stage. What a major disappointment. Chris and the band sounded great when they played. Don't know what was going on with their performance style; it was awful. They took anywhere from a 3-8 minute (longer on an occasion or two) break between EACH song!! Completely broke up the rhythm of concert. At first, I thought they were encountering technical difficulties, but they said nothing about tech issues, and this pattern continued until the lights came on at the end of the concert. Says a lot when the crowd opts to leave than continue to cheer in hopes of an encore. In total, Daughtry played less than an hour because of all the breaks the band took. If this is Daughtry's performance style, this will be the first and last time I pay to watch the group live. I'd rather just listen to the group's music on my stereo or computer at home than waste money on a concert ticket and void the expense and frustration.
Terrible venue as a whole. Great room. Daughtry wasn't at his best. I bought front row tickets through the fan club presale. Literally seats 1 and 2 Row A. After which, then venue added a row in front of us. So we were no longer front row. Plus Thunder Valley TRIPLED the price on the added row. I spoke to the row in front of us and they bought them after me. This was a bucket list dream for me to be front row. (I'm terminally ill and have 6 months or less to live) Daughtry was having equipment issues and left the stage several times, at one point the whole band left the stage. They sounded great despite the issues. I think they should have just said they were having issues, and fixed them, it was visibly affecting Chris' performance. I hope it won't be my last Daughtry show. They are usually the BEST live band.
Stapp saved the show. He performed a lot of Creed hits and had the venue rocking. Daughtry on the other hand performed only two of their big hit songs, "It's Not Over"and "Home."They didn't even perform a hit song for their encore performance. Idk why they didn't do more of their hits, but their selection of songs left the venue with such a low energy feel. So disappointed with Daughtry.
We were so excited to see Daughtry again, but it felt like Scott Stapp was the one with top billing. He “opened” for nearly two hours, and Daughtry, while fabulous as always, played for just over an hour. We know exactly one Creed song, so it was a very frustrating concert experience. Great venue, great Daughtry. Just find a better, shorter opening act who doesn’t think they’re the show!
Getting into Thunder Valley Casino is a bit of a hassle. It is about 7 miles off I-80 so traffic on 65 then the exit to the casino and just one lane in to get to the garage. Once parked, just had to walk all the way through the casino to the venue. The Venue is really nice and rounded with good viewing. Sound was good also. Enjoyed the show. Leaving was a bit easier. They should direct and have better flow of traffic coming in. Overall, good.
Second time seeing Daughtry and it did not disappoint. Chris voice is just heaven and sounds even better live. Staffs were very friendly. Had a splendid night.
It was great had an amazing time. Scott Stapp and Daughtry both sounded great.
