Vancouver Canucks History

The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.

Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.

The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

  • Groundhog Day all over again

by bd on 1/21/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

For all the hype and show biz shine it’s still the same old bottom feeding hockey we’ve seen for a decade. Three GMs, four coaches, numerous players, one owner and the same old results. Please Ryan Reynolds, buy the Canucks.

  • Boys In-Law night at the hockey game!

by Craiger on 12/30/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

'Nucks beat Sharks, so its all good right?! Good pre-game instructions prior to the game with two of us old-timers having mobility issues. Section 108 in Club Section was very close to the elevator which is right at Gate 16 which is 100 yards from good parking in lot 138 if you are early. Though we beat everyone to the restaurant area it still takes the noodle kitchen too long to get an order out, some weird Nanny state hard liquor laws, great in seat service. (tight squeeze for big people) I would recommend ear buds for any serious fan, most conversations, which never stop, are about everything but hockey. Still an 8 out of 10 experience!

  • Great game Jets won

Rogers Arena is an excellent venue and an enjoyable experience. $23.00 for a beer is beyond expensive though

  • StoryBook Game

by Marway on 12/8/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 1 out of 5

So looking forward to creating a memory with my son. Never been the The Rogers Arena.. At the gate (10) per only tickets i could get at 300.00 plus ea.) at 5.00pm. Check in at 530pm. Found our section and seats and then wanted to take some photos as my son wanted to look around. Shortly there after I was approached by a Female Host...Do You Work Here...I replied No....How did you get in, The doors are Not opened yet. I explained my son and I entered through Gate 10 as instructed ....Where is you Son??....You have to come with me to be escorted out....I stated What!!!!...Well maybe go sit in your seats until we open she stated. Geeeeee some greeting.. Not knowing, but realized soon after the game started we are in what is called the Club Section...Oh Yes the two young fellows sitting next to Cam, by son, drunk out of their minds, spilling beer, cursing, eating and shelling nuts and still ordering more drinks....I could go on but hopefully you get the picture. Thank Goodness the Game was a Story Book Game and our hope is to see a rebroadcast of the game...Looking for a experience with my son, I sure got It.

  • It was fun!

by Phil on 12/8/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I like having the ticket on my phone. Maybe I’m old school but I’d like to be able to have a hard copy bar code for back up. Can I do that moving forward?

  • Vancouver hockey game

by sportsjoe on 12/8/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The atmosphere was great at Rogers Arena. It's loud and they really get the crowd into it. The one big negative is dealing with the tickets on your phone. I couldn't connect to wifi at the arena so I had to go to the box office and print out paper tickets. We shouldn't be forced to use our phones for tickets. We prefer paper tickets because there is never an issue plus we have a memento. It's pretty sad you only get paper tickets when you have a problem with the paperless. We still should have that option for paper tickets.

  • Super Evening

by Fanny on 12/8/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

We loved the stadium, the atmosphere, the employees were really nice😁

  • Canucks game experience

    by Wayne B on 12/6/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

The Canucks Nov 3rd game with Arizona Coyotes was a good time for the most part. Good seats, pre game intermission activities and of course the game. Only bad part was the drunk men behind us complaining about everything under the sun constantly throughout the game. It was extremely annoying

  • Exciting Game but Too Many Bad Seats

by Smudge on 11/24/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

Great to see Eichel play, but be careful. Railings at Rogers Center block views in corner seats near goals. Make sure you get seats closer to center ice. $100 for seat with tough view of the goal is wrong.

  • Time for upgrades

    by Tambo22 on 11/24/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I've been going to Rogers for a long time....since i was a little kid really. Its time that some actual money was injected into some upgrades that affect more people than just those who book the center ice suite. I sat in club section 108 row 10 seat 106. Great view of the game but it would have been excellent if my chair wasn't broken and I didn't have my elbow on a screw in a broken arm rest. The washrooms are aging rapidly and the overall entertainment value has left people wanting for sometime. I'm sure there will be no issues selling tickets but if you want to become the class of the league in terms of an organization (like you once were) its time for change.

  • Great enjoy

by Christian on 11/21/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

A fun time, only thing is the parking over priced.

  • Canucks vs. Predators

by Pädu on 11/9/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

wonderful spectacle … no queues, perfect, short security check, great choice of food and drink options, comfortable seats (comparable to cinema seats) with drink holders, stimulating intermission entertainment and, above all, a wonderful fan backdrop on both sides. absolutely no negative waves! in short and clear: a first-class sports experience.

  • Awesome game experience!

by FERNANDO PAIVA on 11/9/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome! Family event! Sports fan event! Life experience! Safe, organized and exciting!

  • Amazing but pricey

by Harry on 10/27/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The hockey itself was amazing, you’d don’t get spectacles like that in the United Kingdom. Seats in 310 we’re great, and the atmosphere was decent. However, CAD18.99 a pint is criminal. I fully expect prices to be hiked in an arena but 18.99?!?!?!

  • Seat Confusion

by Toby on 10/27/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

Random people all sitting in the wrong seats and nobody ever actually sorted it out.

  • It was very good

    by Kai-Olaf on 10/27/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

It was a very nice evening and event, thank you for that, the only issue, we as european cant sign your app, the postcode is the hurdle

  • First class experience in the Club Section

    by David A on 10/10/22Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was great. Seats were excellent and reasonably priced. Seat service was quick and efficient. And it was an excellent game.

  • Fun

by Jacob on 10/8/22Abbotsford Centre - AbbotsfordRating: 4 out of 5

There was a big line up to leave in the parking lot - took about 30 minutes, but other than that was really fun

  • NHL Hockey in the big city of Abbotsford

by Skippy on 10/8/22Abbotsford Centre - AbbotsfordRating: 5 out of 5

Liked it from the start. The indigenous speakers and the singer touched my heart. The hockey was fast and great to watch, the crowd was into it in a behaved but good way, and the sound system sounded better than I remember it sounded last year (maybe because different seats?) Sounded great! Exciting fun night! Better than expected - big time event!!!
