Vancouver Canucks History

The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.

Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.

The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

  • Atmosphere

by Yvs on 1/28/24Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Hadn’t been to a game in person in a long time, huge change in the arena and atmosphere. I love the game and had fun watching. I will say I found the new huge jumbotron a bit distracting and really dislike the blue shiny helmuts so cheap looking🤷🏻‍♀️ Pretty noisy atmosphere, did appreciate the variety of food and beverage options though a bit pricey in these cash strapped times. May be another few years before I am able to attend again. I did enjoy the game being able to share the experience with my son. Always a fan, Go Canucks go.

  • Conner Bedard Xmas gift

by Grandpa Mike on 1/25/24Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

Brought my grandson to Canucks-Chicago game . Bought the tickets in Sept as a Xmas present so he could see Conner Bedard. Unfortunately Bedard suffered an injury and did not play. Stuff happens so I get it. However I was disappointed there was no video presentation before the game of Bedard addressing his hometown fans as a lot of kids attended the game cause of him asXmas gifts . Would have been a class by the Canucks . Thank you

Great show and great match !!! Canucks and senators played so well. So happy to see Wayne Gretzky.

  • Great game and seats, beverages clearly gauging.

by MJ on 12/18/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Watching the game was great, from the opening entertainment of pre-game to the light shows and fan interaction makes it really exciting. The game was great and the Canucks had a phenomenal game. Arena should offer combo deals for beverages and food at every food stall and beverages prices are clearly gauging, I wouldn’t buy more than 1, around $11.50 with taxes for small skinny can of Stella pretty ridiculous.

  • Awesome people and staff

by Theflash on 12/18/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

  • Great, but thirsty

by King Richard on 12/3/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Always a great time at Roger's, but it does lack great non-alcoholic options. Unless you want pop or boring water, there isn't much else.

  • Great fun

by Mr. Awesome on 12/3/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Canucks game is one of the more affordable NHL teams to see and Rogers Arena is awesome. Despite wearing the opposing teams colors, the fans were as always good.

  • Tough Loss!

by Smudge on 11/21/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Love to see a game when in Vancouver. Rogers Arena is showing its age. Far too few washrooms. Long, long lines. Concourses packed like sardines!

  • Torn between 2 teams

by Soccerchic on 11/21/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Went to the game, from Seattle, with my family to see our 2 favorite teams play. Vancouver puts on a pretty good pregame show I will say but of course not better than The Kraken. The Kraken won so we were happy but we were in our Canucks gear. Great game!!

  • Great event!

by Kraken Bill on 11/21/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic singing of both National Anthems, great video intro of team (huge overhead screen), clear game announcer, energetic fans, intermission fun, good food, easy parking, and good sight lines from all seats. Great game and spirited banter with Canucks fans as we rooted for the Kraken! Rogers Arena is a must for any hockey fan.

by LW on 11/7/23Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The stadium was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to get inside and get to our seats. The seats are comfy. The crowd had good energy. The game was good and the mini shows between sports intervals were cute and entertaining. Overall very nice time and would go again.
