Vancouver Canucks History

The Vancouver Canucks started play in 1970, entering the league along with the Buffalo Sabres. Vancouver has been to the Stanley Cup Final on three occasions, though they lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994 and the Boston Bruins in 2011.

Despite humble beginnings, the Canucks continued to develop. With the arrival of three key players—Captain Trevor Linden, netminder Kirk McLean, and "the Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure, the Canucks had a winning Playoff run season—making it to the 1994 finals.

The Canucks continued to acquire superstars like Alexander Mogilny and Markus Näslund, and while the following years meant a series of losses, it allowed for the team to draft Henrik and Daniel Sedin, who would go on to lead the Canucks to Presidents' Trophies in back-to-back seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12, as well as their finals appearance in 2011.

Good family event but it appeared to be lacking the excitement and organization. Too much down time and not enough going on to entertain. Could use some more PR time or autograph sessions or activities for people before the skills competition. Alumni Game needs more hype as it was really boring for children.

  • Great Seats for a End to End Game.

What a great game that was end to end and full of action. All that was missing was a good bust up fight.

I like the fact I was given unexpected passes for free movies and snacks that was a bonus.

This is the only time I have gone to a pro hockey game in person. What a fantastic thrill to see it in person. The difference in our local team and the pros is astounding. The whole experience was a once in a lifetime experience. This is also because the tickets are excessively expensive. I could never afford to go on a regular basis. But I am super glad I went this one time.

  • Amazing Night!

Our first NHL experience, atmosphere, venue, facilities & game all amazing, both my wife & I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to go again some time in the future.

  • Can't wait for a re-match!

What a GREAT time! I took my parents to their first NHL game, and we all had a great time. Although the team we were rooting for (the Blackhawks) lost - and played horribly - it was still a fun event. Arena staff was friendly, fans were welcoming despite the fact that we were rooting for the visitors - all in all, a good time. Can't wait for the next game between these rivals in March!

Was in the northwest US and wanted to catch a hockey game. Got these tickets and the seats, venue and atmosphere in the arena was amazing. My gf who has never been to a NHL game was cheering and yelling and had a great time. It was definitely an experience to remember.

A fun time was had by all. The trip from Williams Lake to P.G. was well worth it to see the Canucks at practice. Would gladly do it again to see the up and coming new stars on the ice. Thanks to the fellows that signed autographs for all the kids that worship our local(B.C.) pro hockey team. Thank you very much.

Very first hockey. I chose to go to Vancouver. Wonderful arena. If your not from the area it could be hard to find. It was an outstanding game experience. I had some issue with getting my ticket on my phone. The event and security staff were wonderful in helping me.

Awesome game! First Canucks game and was not disappointed. Perhaps I would have been if they had lost though. Staff at the stadium were all very polite and helpful, especially the greeter at section 103! would be nice if the beer was a couple bucks cheaper, decent selection though. All in all, a very good night.

  • Hockey is in my blood.

    by drumchic64 on 3/17/15Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Purchased ticket to fill in time. I love hockey I came to Vancouver to see Nickleback and see the city and surrounding areas to get a feel for the city, get information about moving here. I grew up on hockey with many connections in the business. I'm from Detroit. Grandfather skated, father skated, brother played, and my son played, and was even scouted by Oregon high schools coaches at young age. The ticket prices are reasonable. It's a beautiful arena. The game was fun and exciting. I felt safe, and out of harms way. I wanted them to beat the Boston Bruins, a few years ago. Glad they beat Toronto.

  • GO CANUCKS!!!

by MikeGause on 3/17/15Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a big hockey fan, but unfortunately there are no NHL teams close to me. I've always been partial to the Vancouver Canucks so when I decided it was time to see a game in person essentially I went to Vancouver. The game was amazing, the fan were incredible... overall an unforgettable experience!

This was probably the worst hockey game I have ever been to in 3 years. Was a boring game with a slow pace tempo. For value of ticket was not worth it.
