About

You don't sell over two million copies of your debut album without some serious hard work, and Australian singer/songwriter Vance Joy has never been shy of major elbow grease. When Vance Joy first cut his teeth performing at open mic nights in Melbourne, he was feeding on a diet of artists like The Pogues and Paul Kelly. By 2013 he was ready to introduce the world to his ukulele-led charm 'Riptide', which became an instant global classic. The connection and journey his music was about to have on the world in years to come was an unexpected reward to the young songwriter.

Vance Joy (born James Keogh) consolidated on that first impression with further anthems 'Mess is Mine', 'Georgia' and 'Fire and the Flood'. Those hits all found a home on the 2014's debut 'dream your life away'. Vance Joy spent 2013 and 2014 playing clubs around the world before the album was released which then saw him surface everywhere from singing on the American Idol Season Final to being handpicked to open Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour, festivals from Lollapalooza in Chicago and South America, to Coachella, Splendour in the Grass and the AFL Grand Final. After his successful Sold Out 2016 'Fire and The Flood' North American theatre run, and Australian performances at the Sydney Opera House, Margaret Court Arena and Riverstage he took a well-earned rest.

Come July 2017 - Vance Joy kicked off the campaign for his sophomore album 'Nation of Two' with the lead single 'Lay It On Me' showing it was destined to be another successful album. The track was followed six months later with the album and follow up single 'Saturday Sun', a tune so good that he held up delivering Nation of Two to ensure it made the cut.

The success of 'Nation of Two' saw Vance Joy tour the world throughout 2018 on the 'Nation of Two World Tour' ranging in venues from Arena's across Canada, amphitheatres in North America including the famous Red Rocks, the first Latin American headline shows, theatres across Europe and Arena's across Australia including two sold-out hometown shows at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena. November 2018, the end of the 83 date World Tour, Vance Joy had yet another offer to tour with one of the world's biggest female artists. P!NK extended an offer for Vance Joy to join her European stadium run on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour. Summer 2019 saw Vance Joy and band join her biggest tour to date and enjoy an extensive run of Stadium shows across Europe before taking another well-earned break to work on album number three.

In 2021 Vance Joy returned with 'Missing Piece', the song soon hit x2 Platinum in Australia, #1 at USA Triple A Radio, #2 on the Australian Radio Chart, #2 at the USA and Canada Alternative Radio Chart and won Best Video at the ARIA Awards. Released in June 2022, 'In Our Own Sweet Time', the third album by Vance Joy featured hit single, 'Clarity' which peaked at #3 on the USA Alt Radio Charts. The song spent one week at #1, nine weeks in the Top 5 and eleven weeks in the Top 10 on the Triple A Radio Charts in the US. In Australia, Vance Joy received 5 ARIA Nominations after the album's release including, Best Solo Artist, Best Adult Contemporary Artist, Best Pop Release for Clarity, Song of the Year for Clarity and Best Video for Every Side of You. Winning Best Video for the 2nd year in a row.

With 5 billion streams across all platforms, it's no surprise that listeners all over the world connect to Vance Joys intimate yet anthemic song writing. His lyrics take you on a journey that will reach out and hold you for a delicate moment. Bringing together a unique, charming mix of folk music with pop influences, these songs capture the familiar pulse of everyday experiences in a unique and celebratory manner.

    Vance Joy was incredible!!!!!!

by BonnieT on 2/15/16The Dome at Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Absolutely one of the BEST concerts I've ever seen! Vance Joy is just absolutely incredible, I'd go to another concert of his in a heartbeat! He's so full of emotion, puts meaning to the songs he sings with his energy and makes everyone feel as if the songs were meant for them. I/we (myself & my husband) wish we had arrived sooner so we could've been closer to the stage as it was general admission/standing room only. We know better for next time! I hope Vance returns to CT real soon!

    Vance Joy

by Sunsetcorl on 2/13/16State Theatre - Portland

Vance Joy is amazing! For being a solo artist, he had me captivated the entire show. He's one of the few artists who sound even better live! After the show he did a meet and greet with 40 fans and I was able to meet him. He was genuinely excited to meet his fans and to take photos with us! (He's even more handsome and alluring up close!)

    Vance Joy was AMAZING!

    by 207rocks on 2/11/16State Theatre - Portland

I first saw Vance Joy live when he opened for Taylor Swift last summer. I knew then that I had to see him if he headlined a tour. Luckily I got tickets to last night's sold-out show, and what a show it was. Flawless performance. I have been to literally hundreds of concerts over the years, and his was one of my all-time favorites.

    Vance Joy was amazing!!!

by Maevel on 2/2/16Massey Hall - Toronto

It was my first time seeing a concert at Massey Hall and I would say that it easily became my favourite venue. Had a chance to see Vance Joy and Reuben and the Dark perform. Vance has a very relaxing voice and he's a very good entertainer. The crowd was delightful the whole time.

Vance Joy is too adorable to miss!

by Anonymous on 1/28/16The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

The venue was delightful, comfortable seats, excellent views (and I was sitting on a far edge of the room), and helpful staff. Vance Joy was a delight, I can't say enough about how talented and wonderful he is, it was well worth the trip and time!

Vance Joy was on Fire! Caesars is a great venue!

by WAA4life on 1/28/16The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

Vance Joy live was everything a fan would hope it would be, and MORE! The venue was large, comfortable, and the sound was pristine! Also, there appears to be no obstructional views and all seats appear to have a clear view of the stage. Even the opener "Reuben and the Dark" was amazing! So good, that we even bought their album and waited in line to meet them! I will definitely be coming back to Caesar's for more concerts!

    Not Jumping for Joy

by Compking on 1/28/16The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I really like the 3 songs that get a lot of air play so decided to check out this band. Did not realize that his following is littered with screeching and annoying twenty something girls shouting g out ..."I love you" every chance they got. His band is very good but the music, but for the 3 songs, sounded very much alike and uninspiring.

    Show too short

by LauraLo on 1/23/16Riviera Theater - Chicago

I just saw Vance at the Riviera and one thing that we didn't expect were 2 opening bands. So after the first group came on we're all pumped for Vance and then it was super confusing when what was the actual listed opening band started performing. The show started around 730 and Vance went on around 915. Just when it started gaining momentum, technical difficulties shut down all the power and the mics went out. After waiting 20 minutes for the problem to get resolved I thought for sure the show was going to get out late. Nope, by 1030, SHOW OVER!! So he barely played a full hour! Really disappointing. He did a cover of Paul Simon's You Can Call Me Al which was great, but I would of much rather he played more of his own tunes if the show was going to be so short.

    Decent

by Odawgy on 1/22/16Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

Opening band Reuben and the dark were great. Really enjoyable. Vance joy was good but I didn't realize he's like a one man show. His band was in the background and in the dark. It was kinda weird. Didn't expect that. Anyways... It was OK. He's got some talent but he's not Incredibnot.

Everything was perfect. His voice pretty much brought you to tears. And on top of that Reuben and the dark were incredible and left you with the chills.

    Best night of my life

by Allieop on 1/16/16Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Wow. Just wow. Thank you so much for making this night so fantastic! Ruben and the Dark were wonderful and I'm so excited I got to see them live! Vance Joy, you left me speechless. I don't say this lightly when I mean it really was the best night of my life! All the music sounded amazing and despite not being able to boogey down with my friend, the overall atmosphere was wicked. Absolutely beautiful theatre as well, perfect venue for both acts! Can't wait until next time I can come see either artists!
