fair performance at the fair
by averagedudesandiego on 11/20/12Del Mar Fairgrounds - Del MarFirst; I had relatively high expectations because of the cost of the tickets - even the cheap seats that I had were a little high. When I went with my family HALF the seats were empty. Drop the price by a third and I bet the place would have been sold out. Second; Overall, this looked like a non-professional (almost amateur) put pieces and parts of different styles together for a show. Nothing was tied together as a common theme. This show has potential...but it needs help. Drop the trampoline act and bring in Dressage (I actually had to google that word). Even Midieval Times had Dressage in the middle of the show. The show needed a narrator to inform those of us who know nothing about horses why what they are doing is so grand. Third; Extremely kid friendly. ABSOLUTELY NO HORSE WAS HARMED, STRESSED,HURT, OR YELLED AT even when they did not do as planned. The lady trainer was extremely nice and tolerant of the horses behavior. Non of the horses showed any signs of being pushed beyond their capacity. Heck, most didn't even show any signs of heavy breathing that is how tame the show was.
