Nice facility in middle of nowhere

    by ChipM13 on 11/7/16TOYOTA PARK - Bridgeview

The game itself was a clinic in exactly what is wrong with US rugby. Incredibly poor performance by the Eagles. Maoris on the other hand were a great see and fun to watch. I thought Eagles were taking a step forward in the spring, but this was a major disaster. If the US is not capable of fielding a better side than this without those players on European side, then there is a long way to go. As for the facility, it's nice enough, but in the middle of the boonies, and there is no viable way to get to or from it. Worse, attendants were totally uninformed about how to find transportation after game. Where to catch a cab? "I don't know." Where to catch a bus? "I don't know." Cabs were apparently not allowed on property to pick up after game, so we ended up waiting for over an hour to catch a cab at a Shell/Super K off the property. The worst job of transportation management at a major event that I have ever seen. I would give 5 stars to everything else, 0 stars to transportation, average 3 stars.

    Great event, terrible location

    by Bulls1060 on 11/7/16TOYOTA PARK - Bridgeview

The venue itself, Toyota Park, is quite nice. But I will not go to events there again due to the extremely difficult location and terrible access/traffic. We used the Orange Line to Midway, and the shuttle buses were completely overwhelmed. We were then unable to get a taxi or Uber from the Midway Transportation Center, and had to walk through several garages and through the terminal, into departures, to meet our Uber. Similar difficulty at the end of the match. There shuttle bus lines were hundreds of people long, even 45 minutes - 1 hour after the match. Taxi's were not present. Uber fares were quoting over $100 to return to downtown because of surge pricing. For all of these reasons I will not be returning to Toyota Park.

    Amazing Game!

    by Garret66 on 11/7/16TOYOTA PARK - Bridgeview

Right from the initial kickoff, the game was one you watched from the edge of your seat. We all really thought the All Blacks were charging back in the last 20 minutes or so, but Ireland held on for the win! A historic win!!

    USA vs Russia Rugby

    by JohnBoy1234 on 6/28/16Bonney Field - Sacramento

Good game - USA won decisively. Very hot (over 100 degrees F) - we were on the sunny side of the stands. Stadium not very consumer friendly (only porto toilets - very little shade to sit down to eat hotdogs, etc).

    Eagles almost upset italy

by 101and82Airborne on 6/22/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

    1) $40 for Parking was obscene rip-off of loyal fans 2) I asked for best seats available, and while ( I paid $180 each) they were in the front row, it was ground level and clear down on about the 8 yard line , first 10 rows of the deck right above us( btw the 30's) were vastly superior seats 3) food options inside the stadium were extremely limited, should have gone to" In and Out" next door first. ---------------------- Crowd was great, but too small, very good hard fought game, eagles had a chance to win in last 3 min but were unfairly penalized . venue is very well maintained, helpful friendly staff, very clean, excellent location ( where to park signs could be larger/clearer)

Avaya/Rugby USA leaves a lot to be desired

by Whistler2 on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

The games have always been exciting, after all … this is rugby. This review is intended to address the venue. First, some pluses: comfortable seats, with a good view of the field, and decent, clean bathrooms. Minuses: For some unknown reason, seating is only sold on one side of the field … always the sunny side, with the sun in the fans' eyes as it sets. Why … to sell more beer to overheated fans? It was brutal, when there was a double-headers last year, especially for those enthusiasts who wanted to show their patriotism by painting themselves in red, white, and blue. Programs? Nope … apparently not necessary. I did see ONE person who managed to get a line-up list from somewhere, but they might have printed their own. The announcing was minimal, but adequate. The deafening music the rest of the time was totally unnecessary. Seats? They were reasonably comfortable, but difficult for a senior with legs issues to reach. Also had a near fall on the way down the stairs.

I suggest seating the fans on the NORTH side of the stadium, not the south as in this game. Only the south side was open for fans, I'm assuming because we would be lit up for the TV cameras. It was June 18th, almost the longest day of the year, the sun high in the sky to the north and IN OUR FACES THE WHOLE GAME. The bright sun hampered our view of the game.

USA v Italy Rugby Great Experience

by lcdrjjk on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

Avaya Stadium great venue for rugby match and was a great close game. Helpful to know the rules as rugby rules are varied and complicated especially the penalties.

    USA Rugby @ Avaya Stadium

by jaegs10 on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

USA Eagles were great, unfortunately not successful, but a great game to watch. Avaya Stadium, on the other hand, was abysmal. Parking - approximately .5 miles away in a dusty gravel lot was $25. I have paid less in event parking in SF, SJ and Oak. Traffic flow was non existent with pedestrians crossing traffic several times on way to stadium. While I guess the area is still under construction, charging so much, for so little (and so many headaches) would prevent me from going to stadium again. Seating was generally good - I paid extra for 'club seats' and while we were almost 'sideline' the boxes did not have adequate supplies or refreshments (beer was warm, food choices were minimal if there at all. Someone (facility or USA Rugby) decided to seat all fans together (makes sense) on the sunny side of the stadium so we were all blinded for the early evening match (not so much sense). Bathroom facilities seemed just adequate and not well thought out. When complaints were made to staff, the response was uncaring and snarky. For a new stadium to have several large flaws (orientation to sun, parking, bathrooms, concessions) as well as a non responsive staff, does not trend well. While I may attend other events at Avaya, the first impression will certainly play a part in any future decisions, and not in a positive way.

Great way to spend the day! Nice mix of ages, singles, and families. Rugby is an exciting sport to watch and Avaya is a beautiful stadium.

    USA mens eagles match

by BVDownunder on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

Great friendly and safe atmosphere for the family, complete with multiple food options and activities for the kids.Good example of how tough and physical game of rugby is. Social side is alive and well, which is important. Players came around after the match and were very thankful and respectful. Unlike other sports stars with ego's.

    SUNNY SEATS

by irishrugby on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

The game was great, but I question why they sold tickets on only the sunny side of the stadium. While the shady side was closed off we had to stare into the sun and bake. Also vendors were walking around without their price displayed which was kinda suspect. By the end of the night the air quality was terrible (the stadium is across the street from the airport). In summary the game was great, the seats were great - but the game management and the air quality left a lot to be desired.

Venue could have been much better

by EveryNicknameIKnowIsTaken on 6/21/16Avaya Stadium - San Jose

The scoreboard was terrible. Most of it was static advertisement. They could have displayed player names and photos as they were announced. The score and clock was very small, and they often didn't show the clock. The ball handlers on the sidelines were standing up, blocking the view. They had all the fans sit on the side of the field facing into the setting sun, making it even more difficult to watch the game. Very dusty walking from the parking lot to the stadium. Very limited food selection. They over-compensated with a wide variety of alcohol.

The Rugby game was great. The Avaya Stadium is nice and new, however, tickets were sold for only half of the stadium. The side they chose to sell faced the sun for 75 out of the 80 minute game. We had to shield our eyes from the sun in order to see the game. Meanwhile we stared straight across the stadium at the SHADED EMPTY SEATS wondering why that side wasn't sold instead. We were disappointed and left wondering why they chose that arrangement? We were excited about the prospect of international rugby being available so close to home, but left frustrated with the venue seating arrangement.

    Give me more rugby.

by MNRugbyFan on 9/23/15Soldier Field - Chicago

Soldier Field is a great stadium. Amazing to see so many people attend a rugby match in the U.S. Granted, there was a large Australian contingent. Still, great atmosphere and great support for the USA Eagles. Hope there are more rugby matches in Chicago. Will definitely make the drive down to be there.

    USA Eagles Rocked the Stadium!

by Macsine on 9/15/15Soldier Field - Chicago

What a great night. Our seats were good. Due to empty seats available, Soldier Field upgraded our tickets. It was amazing!!! The stadium seating was great no matter where you sat. The stadium was clean, well lit and the signage about the game, players and sponsors was well done. Everyone around me had a great time.

A better showing by the Eagles

by RGBYREF on 9/9/15Soldier Field - Chicago

Whomever decided charging $50/car for parking needs to spend the rest of their lives watching soccer! I've been to many NFL, MLB and other sports stadiums around the country and have NEVER paid that much for parking. The Waldorf Astoria charges that much for valet parking, but there at least they park the car for you! On the other hand, having to pay that much for parking kept me from blowing the whole wad on grossly overpriced beer in the stands. And what was with the squad car bums-rush to clear the parking lot so soon after the match ended. If they tried that at Lambeau, there would have been a riot by the post-game tailgaters.

USA vs AUS Rugby was an amazing experience

    by CJ84008 on 9/9/15Soldier Field - Chicago

Although the event was awesome, the timing was horrible for the sport. This match was on Labor Day weekend and many, many families already have plans for that weekend. Additionally, this was opening weekend for college football. Bottom line, the die hards were present and loved every minute...but attendance would have been higher if the match was on a different date.

Game was great, Soldier Field was bad

by vanjaarsveldh on 9/9/15Soldier Field - Chicago

The game and atmosphere was excellent, seats were great even though they were behind the goal posts. However, the staff running the concessions was unprofessional, unfriendly and unable to perform menial tasks such as ringing on registers and pouring beers. Even basic, minimal training would have covered these things, therefore it's really inexcusable how the event was so poorly staffed.

Seat giveaway and those who paid for them

by Losaint on 9/9/15Soldier Field - Chicago

I spent $200 EACH for my 4 seats to treat my son for his birthday, only to find at game time that USA Rugby asked the stadium staff to bring everyone down from the upper decks to the bottom bowl to fill the seats for the cameras. There were people sitting right next to me that paid in the $50 range for their seats and we paid $200, pretty ticked off about that.
